Your pepe is designed to hold younger
babies facing inward and adapt to hold
older babies facing outward.
Remove head suport 'a' and place child
in facing outward.
a
Your pepe gives
you back the use of
your hands. They are
now free to help you
out with your day,
while keeping your
baby near and dear.

nitty gritty
pepe and you
You and pepe are going to be getting
close. So let's make sure you get nice
and comfy with each other.
1. Unbuckle the hip belt and back
adjuster 'a'.
2. Loosen the shoulder and side straps 'b'.
3. Put pepe on, with the shoulder straps
on your shoulders. pepe is worn on your
front, not your back.
4. Do up the hip belt behind you.
The top of the belt should be resting
on your hips. Tighten it by pulling the
webbing straps until firm.
Use the strap holders.
5. Do up the back adjuster 'c' behind you,
by pulling the webbing straps until firm.
6. Do up the side straps. Tighten by pulling
the webbing straps until they're firm but
not so tight that they pull the hip belt up.
a
7. Check the overall feel of the fit.
How are you two getting on?
Adjust for added comfort.
IMPORTANT - ASK THE STORE IF YOU ARE UNSURE
ABOUT ANY ASPECT OF THE ADJUSTMENT

pepe and your baby
nitty gritty
IMPORTANT - Before loading your child for
the first time familiarise yourself with all the
buckles and adjustment straps.
1. Put pepe on and check the fit, as above.
2. Loosen the side strap.
3. Do up the infant snaps.
Release ONLY if you're comfortable
that your child is large enough
(usually >8lb/4kg and 55cm)
4. Undo the top buckles 'a'.
5. Sit down with your baby.
6. Hold your child on pepe, against your
chest, and do up all the buckles (2 top
and 2 leg 'b') and the 2 snaps 'c' for a
closer fit for smaller babies.
7. Make sure one of your child's legs are
each side of pepe. Check out the photo.
Do not put both legs out one side.
8. Put your child's arms under the top
straps and over the leg straps. Adjust all
straps for a close fit. Tighten top straps
and leg straps to secure your child.
a
This brings the child closer to you
- firm but not tight.
9. Once you're confident that all straps
are secure and fit well, you can let
your child sit.
10.Turn your child's head to the side.
11. As your child grows you can slide adjust
the head support, fold it over, or remove it.
Keep it in the storage bag. Do not store wet.
12.Adjust all straps as your child grows.
Only face your child out once s/he can
support his/her head (usually when she/he
can sit unsupported by her/himself).

caring for pepe
unlike children, pepe likes to stay clean.
pepe's a saint when it comes to bath time.
Machine wash him separately in warm water,
on a gentle cycle. Then just hang him out to
drip dry. Iron on low if necessary.
Do not store him wet.
Remove dry dirt with a soft brush.
Do not wash with soap, solvents, bleach
or detergents which may harm the fabric.
a little relationship advice
1. You may want to limit the first few uses of pepe to
15 minutes, until you, pepe and your child are all
feeling really comfy with the new arrangement.
2. When taking pepe off you may like to keep
one side done up and leave the back adjuster
buckled. It's up to you.
3. Minimise back stress by ensuring that the hip belt
is around your hips, not your waist.
4. You may like to nurse in privacy by undoing one
top strap, supporting your baby at all times with
your hands. Of course, buckle up and tighten the
straps when you're done.
5. Bend at the knees, not at the waist, to keep your
baby secure in pepe's embrace.
Store well ventilated, away from direct
sunlight and moisture (which can harm and
fade the fabric).
IMPROPER CARE WILL VOID ANY WARRANTIES.
DO NOT USE PEPE IF DETERIORATION IS DETECTED
OR SUSPECTED.
