About SIM cards
To use your phone, you must insert a valid SIM card
supplied by your network operator or retailer. The
SIM card contains your subscription information,
your mobile phone number and a memory in which
you can store phone numbers and messages.
With two SIM card slots, X710 allows you to use
two SIM cards or phone numbers on one phone.
You can access or choose to send calls and
messages from the secondary SIM card, if you have
set the secondary SIM card to active.
Some functions are only available on the primary
SIM card, such as those requiring GPRS, WAP,
OTA services, the interactive data services, moving
and copying messages between the phone and SIM
card. To use such functions on a secondary SIM
card, press RSwap SIM to change it to the
primary SIM card, if necessary.
Insert SIM cards
Follow the steps below to insert your new SIM
cards.Remember to switch off your mobile phone
before removing the back cover.
1. Press on the back cover and slide the cover as
shown.
2. As shown, take out the battery.
Getting Started5
You may lose all your personal settings if you

6Getting Started
Charge the battery
Your phone is powered by a rechargeable battery.
A new battery is partially charged. The battery
symbol indicates the state of the battery. To charge
the battery, plug in the connector as shown below.
Then plug the other end into a power socket.
If you do not intend to use your phone for
several days, we recommend that you remove
the battery.
You can use the phone while it is charging. If
the battery is completely flat, the battery
symbol will only reappear after a few minutes
of charging.
Set your SIM card slots
The first time you turn on your phone, you may
need to set the two SIM card slots.
During charging, the battery symbol scrolls. It takes
about 6 hours to fully recharge the battery.
Depending on the network and condition of use,
talk time goes up to 8.5 hours and stand-by time up
to one month.
Keeping the charger plugged to the mobile
phone when the battery is fully charged will not
damage the battery. The only way to turn off
the charger is to unplug it, so it is advisable to
use an easily accessible power socket.
To identify the two SIM cards, you can set different
names, ringtones, message alerts, and icons for
them.
1. Check the Slot 1 and Slot 2 for the SIM cards
(see Step 3 in "Insert SIM cards").
2. Check that your phone is switched on.

code if required. A PIN code is a 4- to 8-digit
secret code of your SIM card. It is

in succession, your SIM card will be blocked. To
