Controlling Other Devices
In order to control other devices with your U-Verse TV Remote Control, you need to tell the remote control what types of devices you have. Section 1 guides you through the steps needed to do this. When you complete Section 1, the volume and channels will always work on the U-verse TV Receiver no matter what mode you are in. If you want to change this or allow the POWER key to affect multiple devices then you can also follow the steps in Section 2. If you’d like to reset any of the settings then you can go to Sections 3 and 4.
1. Programming the
remote to control other devices
To use the U-verse TV remote control for your other devices, you will need to program one or more of the TV, DVD or AUX buttons at the top of the remote control. There are two ways to do this. If your device is listed in the Manufacture Code List at the end of this Manual, you can use section A. If your device is not listed, you will need to use section B.
Note: The AUX button may be programmed
to operate a VCR, Home Theater In A Box (HTIB), Receiver or Amplifier.
A. Manually
Use the following steps to program the TV, DVD or AUX mode keys:
1. Power on the device you want to program
2. Locate the 4-digit set-up code for the device you want to program from the Manufacture Code List in this manual. If your device is not listed you will need to use section B on “Using the Automatic Search”. If there are multiple codes listed for your device, you may need to repeat steps 2 through 7 to find the correct one.

2. Setting up your
Volume, Channel and Power Options
The default for your power, volume and channel controls send the codes to the U-verse TV receiver no matter what mode you are in. Thus, in DVD mode, the volume still controls the U-verse TV receiver, etc. If you would like to change this, follow these instructions:
A. Volume Control Set-Up Options
The volume commands are always sent to the U-verse TV receiver until the TV mode key is programmed. Then the volume commands are sent to the TV from all mode keys. If you’d like the volume commands to still be sent to just one device, but that it be a different device (for example a home theater setup) then follow the instructions in Section I. If you’d like the volume commands sent to different devices depending on which mode you are in then go to Section II.
