Charging
Charge the Trimmer W!y before you start using it
for the first tinrw or after a long period of non-use.
Charge Indications
Low Battery
I When the battery capacity is low and the
trimmer needs to be charged, the red low
battery indicator light will blink when the
trimmer is turned off (fig. 2).
I When the battery Is completely empty, neither
the motor or the lights wilt go on. In d)is case
you can still trim using the cord provided.
Charging
I When you start charging, the green charging
indicator light bums continuously (fig. 3).
I When the banery is fully charged, the green
charging indicator light blinks (fig. 4).
To Charge I Recharge
I (Re)charging requires approximately
70 minutes.
I Use only the cord provided.
I Battery performance is best if you recharge
only when the battery is (almost) completely
empty.
I Charging or recharging at temperatures below
40“F or higher than 9S°F adversely affects
lifetime of battery.
I Continuously recharging or continuously using
as a corded Trimmer will reduce life of battery.
I You may also trim using the cord provided.This
Trimmer will not recharge while t^ing used
corded.

by letting the motor run until it stops.
I Do not charge for more than 24 hours.
I Do not keep cord permanently plugged in.

Turbo Power
I When greater suction power and increased
cutting speed is desired while trimming, simply
press the Turbo Power Button (fig. 5).
I The Turbo Power Button can only be activated
when the trimmer is turned ON.
I When the trimmer is turned OFF. the Turbo
Power is automatically deactivated.

Integrated Vacuum
The Inte^led Vacuum is activated automabcally as
soon as you swrtch the trimmer on. It collects cut
hairs during every kind of use. i.e. trimming with
or wrthout comb attachment and contouring. The
flexible hair guide follows the contours of the face
and the Flexi-Guard Hair Deflector directs cut hairs
towards the nozzle of the vacuum mechanism.
It is recommended that you empty the Hair
Collection Chamber after each trimming session.
When trimming long dense beards it may also be

Turn the Zoom Lock to die desired trimming
length setting (see table).The setting will
appear in the window below the Zoom Lock
(fig-7).
I If you are trimming for the first time, start by
using the maximum trimming length sening #9
to prevent accidentally trimming hairs too
shorxAs you become femiliar with the settings,
adjust Zoom Lock to desired trimming length.
Zoom Lock will ‘click* into position at each
setting.
В Turn the Trimmer ON.
o To trim in the most effective way, move the
Trimmer against the direction of hair growth.
Do not move the trimmer too fest. Make
smooth and gentle movements and make
sure the sur^ce of the Guide Comb alsvays
stays in contact with the skin (fig. 8).

it may be necessary to empty the Hair
Collection Chamber during the trimming

Hair Collection Chamber may require
emptying to restore optimal performance.

Battery Removal
I This Philips Norelco Trimmer contains a
rechargeable Nickel-Cadium battery which
must be disposed of properly (fig. 18).
I Batteries should only be removed when
Trimmer is to be discarded.
