A drive icon appears for the external HDD in
Windows Explorer; the name of the drive varies,
depending on your computer system. You can save
and copy data on the drive by moving files and folders
to the drive icon, just as you do when using your
floppy disk or hard disk.

Ein Laufwerksymbol für die externe Festplatte
wird im Windows Explorer angezeigt, wobei der
Name des Laufwerks je nach Ihrem Computersystem
unterschiedlich sein kann. Sie können Daten auf dem

Er verschijnt een pictogram voor de externe HDD in Windows Verkenner; de naam van het station kan
verschillen, naargelang het computersysteem. U kunt gegevens naar het station kopiëren door bestanden en

How to install the external harddisk

for Windows 98 Second Edition only?

Follow the next steps:

1. Insert the Nero Disc and browse to the directory “Philips Drivers”

2. Double click “win98SE.exe”

3. Click next

4. Accept the terms of license agreement

5. Click next

6. Click finish

7. Connect USB and power cable of your external harddisk to the computer

8. The drivers will be automatically installed

9. Browse to the directory “Aspi” in the “Philips Drivers” directory

10. Double click “aspiinst.exe”

11. Click install

12. Click exit

13. Continue the Nero installation

14. Click on Nero BackItUp, other packages can be installed if preferred

15. After installing the software, you should reboot your computer

How to install the external harddisk

for Windows ME?

Follow the next steps:

1. Insert the Nero Disc and browse to the directory “Philips Drivers”

2. Browse to the directory “Aspi” in the “Philips Drivers” directory

3. Double click “aspiinst.exe”

4. Click install

5. Click exit

6. Continue the Nero installation

7. Click on Nero BackItUp, other packages can be installed if preferred

8. After installing the software, you should reboot your computer

operating systems may show

If you only plan to use Windows
XP or 2000 we advice to
reformat to NTFS.
NTFS is not usable for Windows
98SE, ME, Mac, Linux.
Formatting will loose all the data.

In Windows Explorer right click the external
HDD.

Im Windows Explorer rechtsklicken Sie auf der
