Congratulations! You have just bought a state-of-the-art Philips Bluetooth headset.
With the Philips SHB1300 you can enjoy convenient hands-free communication with
your Bluetooth enabled phone. This instruction manual will help you to get started
quickly and achieve the best performance from your headset.
Getting started
Charging your headse t
Befo re you use your he adset for the fi rst time charg e
the battery f or 6 ho urs fo r op ti mu m ba tt ery ca pacity
and lifetime.
Us e on ly th e or igi na l cha rg er ( 5 V) f or ch ar gin g th e
headset.Using another charger may damage or destroy
your headset!
Plug the AC adapter into the power outlet and connect
the charg er ca ble to the headsets D C soc ket . During
rec ha rging the LED ind icato r wi ll s ho w a st ea dy r ed
light. Charging is com plet ed onc e the LE D will switch
off. Typically a full charge will take 3 hours.
The headset LED will fla sh red i nste ad of gr een when
the battery is low and you will hea r a short be ep every

Pair your headset to your mobi le pho ne
Your Bluetooth head set must be paired to your mo bile
phone bef ore using it for the first time with your phone.
“Pairing” will establish a unique encrypted link between
your mobile phone and your headset.
1.Make su re the headset (H S) is tur ned o ff, c har ged
and d isconnected from th e charging cable before you
s tart pairing.

2.To activate pairing mode press and hold the m ult i fun ction bu tton S1u ntil the
LED sta rt s flash in g red and green a lt ernat ely. The HS will rema in i n pairi ng
mode for 4 minutes, to resume p airi ng after 4 minutes repeat the steps above.
3.Follow th e op er at in g in st ru ct io ns f or y ou r mo bi le p hone to start the pairi ng
pro cess.Typical ly this i nvo lves ac cessing a menu c alled “ Set up”, “B lue tooth ”
or “C onn ect ivi ty”and select ing t he option to d isc ove r or s ear ch fo r Bluetooth
devi ces.Aft er several seconds search time y our p hone should indicate tha t it
has fo und the“P hilips SH B1300”
4.Upon sele ct in g th e he ad se t on y ou r mo bi le p ho ne t yp ic ally you will need to
confirm th e pa ir in g an d en te r a pa ss ke y or P IN . Pl ea se e nt er the headsets PIN “0000” ( 4z er os ).
The headset LED wi ll flash green every 3 seconds, indicating su ccessful pai ring.

If pairing does not occur as expected tu rn the headset and phone off and wait for
10 seconds.Turn the headset and phone on again and repeat St eps 1-4.
Turn your h eads et on

until a green LED signal f or 1 sec ond an d a low to ne followed by a high tone will
indicate that the HS is po were d up. On ce the HS i s powered up a green LED wi ll
flash every 3 seconds.

Seconds. A high tone followe d by a low tone will indi cate t hat th e HS is po were d
down. The LED indicator will remain red unt il S1 is r elea sed.

After a few secon ds the connect ion bet ween your headset and mo bile ph one will
be established. If pro mpte d by you r mobi le phone whether to accept the conne-
ction wi th the headset please confirm in or der to establish the Blu etooth link. You

Using your headset
Answering incoming calls

answe r the cal l. The green LED will flash fast (once a se cond) while the call is in
progr ess.
Transferring calls (Ava ilable if supported by your mobile phone)
During you r ca ll , ca ll s ca n be t ra ns fe rr ed f ro m th e Bl ue to oth phone to the HS
and from the H S to t he B lu et oo th p ho ne .
To transfer a call from HS t o th e Bl ue to ot h ph on e, p le as e fo ll ow t he o pe ra ti ng
instructions of your phone.
To transfer a call from the Bluetooth phon e to the H S: pre ss S1 on ce; th e call w il
be transferred to the HS.l
Muting the microphone
To mute the microphone durin g an act ive ca ll:
●Press the volume control buttons S2 and S3 simultaneously fo r about a second.
A periodic beep tone will be he ard while the mute function is active.
To end the mute function:
●Press the volume cont rol buttons S2 and S3 simultaneous ly. The perio dic beeptone will stop.
Ending calls

Voice dia ling ( Available if supported by your mob ile ph one)
1. Make sure the voice dia ling f unct ion is p rope rly set up in your mobile phone.
2. Press the multi function bu tton S 1 on the H S shor tly.
3. After he arin g the voice dial sign al (four tones low to h igh pitch), say the name
of the person as recorded in your mobile phone. The call will be connected within
a few s econds.
Redialing the last dialed number (Available if supported by your mobile phone)
To redial the last dialed number, press and hold the volume down key S3 for 2
seconds. A short low tone will indicate an attempt to redial.
Rejecting incoming calls (Available if supported by your mobile phone)
To reject an incoming call, press the multi function button S1 and hold it until you
hear a long beep tone, then release it.
Adjusting speaker volume
During a call:
● Press and release S2 to increase the speaker volume and
● Press and release S3 to decrease the speaker volume.
A key tone will indicate any increase or decrease of the volume. A higher pitch
signal tone will alert you when the volume level reaches its maximum or minimum.
Wearing your Bluetooth headset

To change from clip on style to ne ckla ce sty le, at tach
the neck strap in three st eps:
1. Attach the Y-connecto r (S6) t o the ea rplu g cabl e
close t o B l u e to oth de vice.
2. Attach the slider (S5) to t he ear plug c able b eneath
the c l i p ( S 4 ) .
3. Fix the slider positi on by at tach ing th e clip (S4) to
the e a r p l u g c abl e.
You can detach the neck strap from the earplug ca ble
at any time .

To adjust the neckband in size:
● Open th e clip (S4)
● Move th e slider (S5)up or downward on the e arplug
cabl e
● Fix you r preferred lengt h with the clip ( S4)
For opt imal wearing comf ort choose one of the three
included ru bber ear caps t hat best fits your ear and
place it on the earplug.
