Introduction
Congratulations on purchasing the A Retractable PC Controller for use with personal computers. Retractable
connection cable, keyboard/mouse emulation software (Proler), and rubberized tactile grips provide maximum
control and portability. The SGC2909 Retractable PC Controller is equipped with two built-in motors, which have
unbalanced weights to provide vibration feedback in games that support this feature. (The Keyboard/Mouse emulation prole editor software and Dual Vibration feedback are not supported on MAC computers).
CAUTION: Connection cable length should be adjusted before starting your PC or MAC game. Extending or
retracting cable during game play could cause the game to malfunction or crash. It could also cause a loaded
prole to be dropped.
Do NOT pull on the connection cable as this can damage the SGC2909 Retractable PC Controller. The con-
nection cable should be gradually extended until the desired length is reached.

Mouse and Key Prole Editor Software
What is the Prole Editor Software?
The Prole Editor is a program that allows you to customize your SGC2909 Retractable PC Controller for PC
games that do not support USB game controllers. It can program keyboard keys and mouse movement to the
SGC2909, allowing you to use the controller with PC games that only support the mouse and keyboard. You can
create multiple proles for each PC game you own. This allows you to have a customized control layout for the
various PC games you play.
What is Prole?
A Prole is a set of programmed keyboard keys and control settings that determines how your SGC2909 functions in a PC game. Multiple Proles can be created and saved for use with multiple games.
Should I use the Prole Editor?
The use of the Prole Editor is optional. If a PC game supports USB game controllers then you should not use
the Prole Editor. Most PC games have an “Options/Setup” or “Controller Conguration” menu screen where
you can congure your controller’s buttons to perform commands in the game. It is recommended that you use
these menu screens if available. Users should congure the SGC2909 by using the game’s conguration screen.
The Prole Editor is for use with PC games that only support the mouse and keyboard as input devices. Typically,
game controllers could not be used with these PC games. The Prole Editor will allow you to use your SGC2909
with these PC games. You are able to assign keyboard keys, mouse buttons, and mouse movement to the controller with the Prole Editor. This will allow you to use the SGC2909 with PC games that only support the key-
board and mouse.
Note: Check if your PC game supports USB game controllers. If it does, then you should not use the Prole Edi-
tor. To verify if a PC game will work with USB game controllers, you should check the recommended specications on the game packaging, check the instruction manual, or look in the game’s “Options/Setup” menu.
You can also check the game publisher’s website or contact their technical support department.
How to program the SGC2909 with Prole Editor Software

acceleration setting adjusts the sensitivity of the SGC2909’s analog stick. The left of the slider will cause
the acceleration to be slower, while the right side of the slider will increase the acceleration.
Note: It is recommended that you adjust the velocity and acceleration to see what changes it causes to the
emulated mouse movement. As you make the changes, you can immediately test the effects by pressing
the mouse button to activate mouse movement mode. If the blue mouse button LED is on, you can test
these settings by moving the selected analog stick.
10. PRINT button – This button allows you to print the main menu of the Prole Editor for reference during
gameplay. A printout will provide you with a reference of the assigned keys.

When I plug my SGC2909 in and Windows runs through the detection process it asks me for my Windows CD. I
do not have a Windows CD as it was not supplied with my computer so what do I do?
Answer 1
Check and verify that you have the Windows CD.
If you have the Windows CD, you should insert it into your CD-ROM drive. The actual les that Windows is
looking for when you are trying to install the SGC2909 are called Cab les and these are usually found in a directory on your Windows CD (Win98 if you have Windows 98SE or Win9x if you have Windows ME). You will need
to select the appropriate CD-ROM directory when asked by Windows. The necessary les will then by copied
to your PC.
Answer 2
Win98SE and ME may require the Windows CD to complete the installation.
Some PC manufacturers do not provide a Windows CD with their computer when they ship it to the customer.
The actual les that Windows is looking for when you are trying to install the SGC2909 are called Cab les and
these are usually found in a directory on your Windows CD (Win98 if you have Windows 98 or Win9x if you
have Windows ME). However, if the manufacturer did not give you a CD then they may have made a backup of
these les somewhere on your hard drive.
The standard location to place these les is the C:\Windows\Options\Cabs directory or, sometimes, simply the
C:\Cabs directory. You can also try the C:\Windows\System32\Drivers directory for the location of the les. The
last possible location to place these les is C:\Win98 or C:\Win9x.
When the Windows installer for the SGC2909 asks you for your Windows CD simply click OK - it will come
back to you saying that it can not nd a particular le and at the bottom of the window that comes up it will tell
you where it is trying to Copy The Files From in a small window.
Click in this window and delete whatever is in there and try replacing it with one of the above locations. If neither works then you should get in touch with the company who supplied your PC and ask them where your Cab

Page 35
FAQs
Answer 2
The PC game supports USB controllers but the controller still doesn’t work.
The SGC2909 will not automatically work with PC games that support USB controllers. You will need to congure the SGC2909 to the game. The procedure for doing this varies from game to game. You need to consult
the game’s instruction manual or contact the game publisher for instructions.
Usually, you will need to enter the PC game’s options or setup menu. Within this menu there should be a
“controller conguration” menu. You will need to change the input device to the connected game controller.
The default input device is usually the keyboard. Once this is completed you still need to congure/assign/map
the buttons and controls of the SGC2909 to the game. The “controller conguration” menu should display all
the gameplay functions of the PC game and the default keys that control these functions. For example, Jump =
Space key. Within this screen you should click on the gameplay function you wish to congure and then press
the desired button on the SGC2909. The exact procedure for conguring the gameplay functions will vary from
game to game. Consult the PC game’s instruction manual.
PC game doesn’t support vibration or force feedback.
You need to verify that the PC game in question supports vibration or force feedback. The majority of PC
games do not. The SGC2909 will only work in PC games that support vibration or force feedback.
You should check the game’s instruction manual and packaging. Also check the website of the game publisher
and developer. If you still can not nd any information you should try contacting the game publisher.
Most PC games that only support the mouse and keyboard as input devices do not support vibration feedback.
Please keep this in mind.
Answer 2
PC game supports vibration feedback but the SGC2909 still doesn’t vibrate.
Please make sure you have installed the SGC2909 software from the SGC2909 CD. Please test the controller’s vibration in the “Gaming Options/Game Controllers” applet found in the Windows Control Panel. If the
SGC2909’s vibration feedback works when tested then the problem is with the PC game.
There are many different force feedback and rumble effects available. The supported effects will vary from game
to game. Unfortunately, due to differences in software and hardware design, the PC game controller may not
support all the effects of the PC game. You will nd that the range of effects that the Retractable PC Controller
supports will vary from game to game.
Can I use the SGC2909 as a standard USB game controller games without
the Prole Editor on PC games that support USB controller?
Answer
Yes you can.
This is actually recommended by us. You should not use the Prole Editor if your game supports USB game
controllers. Verify that you are using our default prole and then congure the SGC2909 within the PC game’s
“controller conguration” menu.
USB Devices do not function in MS-DOS
USB devices do not function under the MS-DOS environment.
There is no way to get an MS-DOS game to recognize a USB device.
I extended the cable of my SGC2909 and now the SGC2909 stopped working in my PC Game or my PC game froze.
Answer
Do not extend or retract the connection cable of the SGC2909 while it is connected to a USB port.
The cable length should be adjusted before you connect the SGC2909 to your USB port. Adjusting the length
while the SGC2909 is connected to a USB port can cause your PC and game to lose connection with the
SGC2909. If this occurs, you can try the tips below.
• If the PC Game stops responding to the SGC2909 coil, this indicates that the connection may have been lost
due to extending or retracting the connection cable. Wait several seconds and the SGC2909 d should automatically reconnect. If this doesn’t work, you will need to exist the PC game and restart it. If this occurs while
you are using the SGC2909 with a game prole, the loaded prole will be lost. You would then need to exist
the PC game, restart the SGC2909 Prole Editor and reload the prole. You then can restart your PC game.
• If your software title freezes or hangs up due to extending or retracting the cable you will need to try the
following. Wait several seconds and the SGC2909 should automatically reconnect. If this doesn’t work try unplugging the USB connector and then reconnecting to the same USB port. If the above tip does not work, then
you will have to exist the software title. Press Ctrl and Alt keys down at the same time and then press the Del
key. Try closing down the software title. If this does not work you will need to restart your PC.
Please do not extend or retract the SGC2909’s cable while it is connected to the USB port. If you need to adjust
the length you should exit the PC game. Unplug the SGC2909 from your USB port and adjust the cable to the
desired length. Plug the SGC2909 to your USB port and restart the PC game. If you were using a custom prole
you will need to restart the SGC2909 Prole Editor and reload the same prole.
The Enter and Esc buttons on my SGC2909 do not work. What do they do?
Answer
SGC2909 software must be installed.
You must install the SGC2909 software. If the software is not installed, these two buttons will not function. The
Enter and Esc buttons will provide the same function of the Enter and Esc keys on your keyboard. Enter and Esc
is usually used to navigate through the game menus.
The Prole Editor allows the SGC2909 to emulate mouse and keyboard commands on the controller. This
makes the SGC2909 compatible with all computer games, even those that do not support controllers.
Why aren’t my controls working correctly in my PC game? The SGC2909 acts erratically when I use the Prole Editor.
Answer 1
The game may support USB game controllers.
Check to verify if your PC game supports USB game controllers. If it does, you should not use the Prole Editor
with the PC game. You should only use the default prole when your PC game supports USB game controllers.
When you assign a keyboard key to the controller’s button, pressing that button when now send the controller button command and the keyboard key command. This isn’t a problem with PC games that only support
the mouse and keyboard. This PC game will only register the keyboard key. However, a game that supports USB
game controllers will register the controller button and keyboard key. So the game will assume you are pressing
a controller button and keyboard key at the same time.
If you desire to use a custom prole with these games, you can check if the PC game has a joystick/controller
enable option. If it does, try disabling it and then see if you can use the Prole Editor with the PC game.
Answer 2
You may have loaded the wrong prole for your controller.
Check and verify that you are using the correct prole for the game you desire to play. You should get into the
habit of checking the prole before you start your PC game. This will ensure the SGC2909 is correctly cong-
ured for the game you desire to play.
When you start your PC or reboot you must start the Prole Editor and load the desired prole. Also, if the
PC loses connection with your SGC2909 you will need to start the Prole Editor and load the desired prole.
The SGC2909’s analog sticks provide poor control when mouse movement is assigned to the analog sticks. The
mouse cursor moves too slow, too rapidly, or erratically.
Answer
Adjust the Velocity and Acceleration Sliders
Open the Prole Editor. Click the ‘Speed’ button the main menu to access the Mouse Speed Adjust sub-menu.
You try adjusting the Velocity and Acceleration sliders to improve the mouse movement of the analog sticks.
Once you make an adjustment try it out by turning the mouse movement mode on. Unfortunately, due to differences in the design of the analog stick and mouse you may never be able to achieve prefect mouse movement.
I assigned mouse movement to my left analog stick, but it doesn’t work in my game.
Answer 1
You must activate mouse movement mode
Verify that the mouse button’s blue LED is on. If it is not, then mouse movement mode is turned off. Press the
mouse button to activate mouse movement mode. You cannot control the mouse cursor unless you activate the
SGC2909’s mouse movement mode.
Answer 2
SGC2909 must be in analog mode. If the SGC2909 is set to digital mode, the analog sticks are non-operational.
Verify that the red analog LED is on. If it is not, then the SGC2909 is in digital mode. Press the analog button to
switch the SGC2909 to analog mode.
Answer 3
Verify that the SGC2909 is properly installed
If the SGC2909 is not properly installed the mouse movement feature will not function. You can conrm that the
SGC2909 was properly installed by checking your device manager. Use the following steps to access your device
manager. Make sure the SGC2909 is connected to a USB port.

Playstation2 controller. How can I congure the SGC2909 to do this?
Answer
Most First Person Shooter games (FPS) are designed to only support the mouse and keyboard. Most developers consider the mouse and keyboard to provide the best control, so controller support is usually very basic or not included.
Currently, our Prole Editor will not allow you to setup the SGC2909 so it emulates the Playstation2 control
setup in FPS game. Currently, only mouse movement can be assigned to the SGC2909 analog sticks. You can congure the D-pad to the WASD keys and the right analog stick to mouse movement. This will allow you to use the
SGC2909 d-pad to control character movement and the right analog stick to control the camera movement.
When I use the Prole Editor, my SGC2909 does not vibrate with my PC game.
Answer
Most keyboard and mouse only PC games do not support vibration feedback.
Unfortunately, most games that only support the mouse and keyboard due not support vibration feedback. If you
must use the Prole Editor with your PC game, it means the game most likely doesn’t support vibration feedback. However, contact the game publisher for verication.
When I use the Prole Editor, and set the SGC2909 to digital mode the d-pad loses its key assignments. The D-
pad controls my mouse cursor when I set the controller to digital mode.
Answer
This happens if you use the Prole Editor to assign mouse movement to the left analog stick. The left analog stick
controls the X/Y axes. When you set the SGC2909 to digital mode, the d-pad controls the X/Y axes. If you have
mouse movement assigned to the left analog stick the SGC2909’s d-pad will control mouse movement when the
SGC2909 is set to digital mode. Assigning mouse movement to the left analog stick will cause the d-pad to lose
its keyboard key programming when the SGC2909 is set to digital mode. Keep this in mind when you use the
Prole Editor.
It is recommended that the SGC2909 be set to analog mode when you desire to use the Prole Editor. If you
want to use the SGC2909 in digital mode then you cannot assign mouse movement to the left analog stick. You
should leave the default setting on the left analog stick.
