Charging
Charge the Trimmer fully before you start using it
for the first time or after a long period of non-use.
Charge Indications
Low Battery
I When the battery is almost empty
(approximately 7 or fewer trimming minutes
left), the battery light turns orange.
I When you turn off the Trimmer, the battery
light blinks orange for a few seconds.
Charging
► When you start charging, the battery light
blinks green.
ft When the battery is fully charged, the battery
light lights up green continuously.
To Charge / Recharge
ft (Re)charging requires approximately 8 hours,
ft Use only the cord provided,
ft Charging, recharging or using the Trimmer at
temperatures below 40°F or higher than 95°F
adversely affects lifetime of battery,
ft You may also trim using the cord provided,
ft IfTrimmer hasn't been used for a long period

D Be certain Trimmer is OFF.
B Connect cord to Trimmer (fig. 1). Plug into
any 120V AC outlet only. Use only the cord
provided.
ft An adaptor plug may be necessary for cord
usage in some foreign countries. Use an
attachment plug adaptor of the proper
configuration for power outlet,
ft It requires approximately 8 hours to fully
charge the battery, if the battery capacity is
completely empty. If there is still battery
capacity available, fully charging the battery will
take less time.
ft A fully charged Trimmer has a cordless
trimming time of up to 50 minutes.
B Disconnect the cord and unplug from
electrical outlet, unless you are using the
Trimmer corded.
NOTE: If the fully charged Trimmer is still con
nected to the outlet after 30 minutes, the battery
light goes off.

Integrated Vacuum
The Integrated Vacuum is activated automatically as
soon as you switch the trimmer on. It collects cut
hairs during every kind of use, i.e. trimming with or
without comb attachment and contouring.
It is recommended that you empty the Hair
Collection Chamber after each trimming session.
When trimming long, dense beards it may also be
necessary to empty the Hair Collection Chamber
during the trimming session in order to maintain
optimal suction performance (also see 'Cleaning'
section, 'Hair Collection Chamber').
I To ensure optimal functioning of the Vacuum
Trimmer, do not cut off more than approx.
6mm/1/4 in. of your overall beard length at a
time. If you want to cut your beard shorter,
repeat the process one or more times.

ft Use this Trimmer for its intended household

with a fine comb before you start trimming,
ft If you are trimming for the first time, be
careful. Do not move the Trimmer too fast.
Make smooth and gentle movements,
ft After trimming, residual hair length can vary
depending on hair type.
Trimming With Trimming Comb
ft The hair length settings are indicated in
millimeters on the trimming comb.The settings
correspond to the remaining hair length after
trimming.
ft The trimming comb cuts hair to a length of
1-18 millimeters/1/32 - 23/32in.
ft The trimming comb must be on Trimmer
in order to use the Zoom Lock.
U Slide the trimming comb onto the Trimmer
(fig- 3).
Q Turn the Zoom Lock (fig. 4) to the desired
hair trimming length setting (see table).The
selected hair length setting is indicated by
the arrow on the side of the Trimmer (fig. 5).
ft If you are trimming for the first time, start by
using the maximum trimming length setting of
l8mm/23/32 in. to prevent accidentally
trimming hairs too short. As you become
familiar with the settings, adjust Zoom Lock
to desired trimming length.
H Turn the Trimmer ON (fig. 2).
□ To trim in the most effective way, move the
Trimmer against the direction of hair growth.
Do not move the trimmer too fast. Make
smooth and gentle movements and make
sure the surface of the trimming comb always
stays in contact with the skin (fig. 6).
NOTE: Since all hairs do not grow in the same
direction, you may want to try different trimming
positions (i.e.. upwards, downwards, or across).
Practice is best for optimum results.

If you want even shorter stubble, use the Trimmer
without the trimming comb attached.
Trimming Without Trimming Comb
Remove trimming comb if you are:

I Trimming nape of neck or full beards
I Removing single, unwanted hairs
U Be certain Trimmer is in the OFF position.
Q Remove the trimming comb by pulling it off
the Trimmer (fig. 8).
Never pull off the Guide Comb Attachment bv
grasping the flexible top portion. Always pull off by
the bottom part of attachment.
B Turn the Trimmer ON.
□ Make well-controlled movements.Touch the
hair lightly with the Trimmer.
Replacing Guide Comb Attachment
On Trimmer
U Be certain Trimmer is in OFF position.
B Replace Guide Comb Attachment until it
‘clicks’ into position.The Guide Comb
Attachment can be placed on Trimmer only
one way by properly aligning it to slide into
the tracks on sides ofTrimmer head. If it
does not fit properly, reverse it.
NQTE:The Zoom Lock can be on any setting
when removing or replacing Attachment.
Cleaning
I Always turn Trimmer OFF before cleaning.
I Do not use abrasive cleaning agents,
scourers or aggressive liquids such as alcohol,
benzene, bleach or acetone to clean the
Trimmer.
i Never clean, remove or replace trimming comb
with motor ON.
I Do not apply pressure to cutters.
i Do not touch cutters with hard objects as this
may damage them.
I Do not use while bathing, showering or
immerse the Trimmer in water or other liquids
as damage to Trimmer may occur.
I Never use sharp or hard objects to clean the
filter to avoid damaging it.
I If cut hairs have accumulated in the trimming
comb area, turn Trimmer off, pull trimming
comb offTrimmer and remove hairs by
shaking and/or blowing.
Hair Collection Chamber
B Turn the Trimmer OFF.
B Open the lid of the Hair Collection
chamber (fig. 9).
B Remove the hairs by carefully shaking them
out or by brushing them out with the
cleaning brush supplied (fig. lO).
□ Clean the filter inside the hair collection
chamber with the cleaning brush (fig. I I).
B Close the lid of the hair collection chamber.
I When trimming extremely long, dense beards,
it may be necessary to empty the Hair
Collection Chamber during the trimming
session in order to maintain optimal suction
performance.
I If suction performance is not as strong as usual.
Hair Collection Chamber may require
emptying to restore optimal performance.
I It is recommended that the Hair Collection
Chamber be emptied and cleaned out after
each use.
I Do not operate the Trimmer with the Hair

n Make sure the Trimmer is turned OFF and
disconnected from the electrical outlet.
B Remove the trimming comb (fig. 8).
B Remove the cutting unit (fig. 12).
□ Clean the cutting unit and the inside of the
Trimmer with the brush supplied (fig. 13).
B Put the cutting unit and the trimming
comb back onto the Trimmer (fig. 14).
Replacing The Cutting Unit
If your cutters and filter become damaged or
worn, do not continue using the Trimmer Replace
cutters and/or filter immediately.

Battery Removal

B Unplug electrical cord from outlet and
Trimmer before dismantling Trimmer.
B Allow the Trimmer to run until the battery is
empty/depleted.
B Turn Trimmer OFF.

chamber (fig. 9).
B Remove the 4 screws inside the hair chamber
with a screwdriver (fig. 16).
□ Pull the hair-collection chamber out of the
appliance with some force (fig. 17).
B To remove the front panel, wedge a
screwdriver between the front panel and
the inside of the appliance (fig. 18).
B Remove the 4 screws on the inside of the
appliance (fig. 19).
□ Remove the inner panel (fig. 20).
[Q Remove the printed circuit board with the
rechargeable battery connected to it (fig. 21).
m Cut the wires between the printed circuit
board and the rechargeable battery.
m Do not attempt to replace battery. Insulate
battery ends by covering with tape and/or
place battery in a small plastic bag.
