Important
Read this user manual carefully before you use the
appliance and save it for future reference.
Danger
- Make sure the adapter does not get wet.
Warning
- The adapter contains a transformer. Do not cut
off the adapter to replace it with another plug, as
this causes a hazardous situation.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they
do not play with the appliance.
Caution
- Use, charge and store the appliance at a temperature
between 5°C and 35°C.
- Only use the adapter supplied.
- Never immerse the appliance in water or rinse it
under the tap.
- If the adapter is damaged, always have it replaced
with one of the original type in order to avoid a
hazard.
- This appliance is only intended for trimming the
human beard. Do not use it for any other purpose.
- Do not use the appliance if the cutting unit or the
beard trimming comb is damaged or broken, as this
may cause injury.
Electromagnetic elds
This Philips appliance complies with all standards
regarding electromagnetic elds (EMF). If handled
properly and according to the instructions in this user
manual, the appliance is safe to use based on scientic
evidence available today.
General
- The appliance is equipped with an automatic voltage
selector and is suitable for mains voltages from 100
to 240 volts.
- The adapter transforms 100-240 volts to a safe low
voltage of less than 24 volts.
Charging
Charge the appliance fully before you use it for the rst
time.
It takes approximately 10 hours to fully charge the
appliance.
When it is fully charged, the appliance has a cordless
operating time of up to 35 minutes.
Note: You can use the appliance cordless as well as
connected to the mains.
1 Make sure the appliance is switched off (Fig. 2).
2 Insert the appliance plug into the appliance (Fig. 3).
3 Put the adapter in the wall socket.
, The charging light on the appliance goes on to
indicate that the appliance is charging.
Note: The charging light does not change colour and does
not go out when the appliance is fully charged.
4 After charging, remove the adapter from the
wall socket and pull the appliance plug out of the
appliance.
Optimising the lifetime of the rechargeable
battery
When you have charged the appliance for the rst time,
we advise you to use it until the battery is completely
empty.
Do not recharge the appliance in between the trimming
sessions.
Continue to use the appliance until the motor almost
stops running during a session. Then recharge the battery.
Follow this procedure at least twice a year.
Trimming
Always comb the beard and/or moustache with a ne
comb before you start trimming.
When you trim for the rst time, be careful. Do not
move the trimmer too fast. Make smooth and gentle
movements.
Trimming with beard trimming comb
1 Turn the Precision Zoom Lock ` adjustment ring
to the desired setting. (Fig. 4)
See the table below for an overview of the settings and
the resulting hair lengths.

The setting appears in the window below the Precision
Zoom Lock ` adjustment ring.
Note: When you trim for the rst time, start at the highest
setting (9) to familiarise yourself with the appliance.
2 Switch on the appliance.
3 To trim most effectively, move the trimmer against
the hair growth direction. Make sure the surface
of the comb always stays in contact with the
skin (Fig. 5).
4 If a lot of hair has accumulated in the beard
trimming comb, remove the comb and blow and/or
shake the hair out of it. The selected setting does
not change when you do this (Fig. 6).
Never pull at the exible top of the beard trimming
comb. Always pull at the bottom part.
Trimming at the unique ‘stubble look’ setting
1 To create a ‘stubble look’, trim with the beard
trimming comb set to setting 1 (Fig. 7).
Trimming without beard trimming comb
Use the trimmer without beard trimming comb to trim
full beards and single hairs.
1 Pull the beard trimming comb off the
appliance (Fig. 8).
Never pull at the exible top of the beard
trimming comb. Always pull at the bottom part.
2 Switch on the appliance.
3 Make well-controlled movements. Touch the hair
lightly with the trimmer (Fig. 9).
Corded trimming
If the battery is low, you can also use the appliance from
the mains:
1 Switch off the appliance, insert the adapter in the
wall socket and wait a few seconds before you
switch on the appliance.
Note: If the battery is completely empty, wait a few minutes
before you switch on the appliance.
Cleaning
Never use scouring pads, abrasive cleaning agents or
aggressive liquids such as alcohol, petrol or acetone to
clean the appliance.
1 Make sure the appliance is switched off and
disconnected from the mains.
2 Remove the beard trimming comb.
3 Open the cutting unit (Fig. 10).
4 Clean the cutting unit and the inside of the
appliance with the cleaning brush supplied (Fig. 11).
5 Push the cutting unit back onto the appliance to
close it (‘click’) (Fig. 12).
Note: The appliance does not need any lubrication.
Replacement
Only replace a worn or damaged cutting unit with an
original Philips cutting unit, available from authorised
Philips service centres.
1 Open the cutting unit.
2 Pull the old cutting unit upwards to remove
it (Fig. 13).
3 Insert the two lugs of the new cutting unit into the
guiding slots (Fig. 14).
4 Push the cutting unit back onto the appliance
(‘click’) (Fig. 12).
Environment
- Do not throw away the appliance with the normal
household waste at the end of its life, but hand it in
at an ofcial collection point for recycling. By doing
this, you help to preserve the environment (Fig. 15).
- The built-in rechargeable battery contains substances
that may pollute the environment. Always remove
the battery before you discard and hand in the
appliance at an ofcial collection point. Dispose of
the battery at an ofcial collection point for batteries.
If you have trouble removing the battery, you can
also take the appliance to a Philips service centre.
The staff of this centre will remove the battery for
you and will dispose of it in an environmentally safe
way. (Fig. 16)
Removing the rechargeable battery
Only remove the rechargeable battery if it is completely
empty.
1 Disconnect the appliance from the mains and let
the appliance run until the motor stops.
2 Undo the screw in the housing of the
trimmer (Fig. 17).
3 Separate the 2 housing parts with a
screwdriver (Fig. 18).
4 Cut the wires close to the battery holder with a
pair of household scissors (Fig. 19).
5 Remove the battery holder with the rechargeable
battery (Fig. 20).
6 Use a screwdriver to pry the battery off the
printed circuit board (Fig. 21).
Do not connect the appliance to the mains again after
you have opened it.

Important

Champs électromagnétiques
Cet appareil Philips est conforme à toutes les normes

mode d’emploi.
Général
- Cet appareil est équipé d’un sélecteur de tension
automatique et est conçu pour une tension secteur
comprise entre 100 V et 240 V.
- L’adaptateur transforme la tension de 100-240 V en
une tension de sécurité de moins de 24 V.
Charge
Rechargez complètement l’appareil avant la première
utilisation.
Une charge complète de l’appareil dure environ
10 heures.
Un appareil complètement chargé offre une autonomie
de 35 minutes environ.
Remarque : Vous pouvez utiliser l’appareil sans l et le
brancher sur secteur.
1 Assurez-vous que l’appareil est éteint (g. 2).
2 Insérez la che dans l’appareil (g. 3).
3 Branchez l’adaptateur sur la prise secteur.
, Le voyant de charge de l’appareil s’allume pour
indiquer que l’appareil est en cours de charge.
Remarque : Le voyant ne s’éteint pas et ne change pas de
couleur lorsque la charge de l’appareil est terminée.
4 Une fois la charge terminée, débranchez
l’adaptateur de la prise murale, puis retirez la che
de l’appareil.
Optimisation de la durée de vie de la
batterie rechargeable
Une fois l’appareil chargé pour la première fois, il est
conseillé de l’utiliser jusqu’à ce que la batterie soit
complètement déchargée.
Évitez de recharger l’appareil entre chaque séance.
Laissez l’appareil fonctionner jusqu’à ce que le moteur
soit sur le point de s’arrêter pendant une séance. Ensuite,
rechargez la batterie. Effectuez cette opération au moins
deux fois par an.
Tondeuse
Peignez toujours votre barbe et/ou votre moustache à
l’aide d’un peigne n avant de la tailler.
Soyez prudent lorsque vous utilisez la tondeuse pour la
première fois. N’effectuez pas de mouvements rapides,
mais des mouvements uniformes et tout en douceur.
Tonte avec le sabot pour barbe
1 Tournez le Precision Zoom Lock ` (anneau de
réglage) sur la position souhaitée. (g. 4)
Consultez le tableau ci-dessous pour connaître les
réglages et les longueurs de coupe correspondantes.

Le réglage apparaît dans la fenêtre située en dessous du
Precision Zoom Lock `(anneau de réglage).
Remarque : Si vous utilisez l’appareil pour la première fois,
commencez par sélectionner le réglage maximum (9) pour
vous faire la main.
2 Allumez l’appareil.
3 Pour obtenir des résultats optimaux, déplacez la
tondeuse dans le sens inverse de la pousse des
poils. Veillez à ce que le sabot reste toujours en
contact avec la peau (g. 5).
4 Si des poils se sont accumulés dans le sabot
pour barbe, retirez-le et enlevez les poils en
secouant le sabot et/ou en soufant dessus. Cette
opération ne modie pas la longueur de coupe
sélectionnée (g. 6).
Ne tirez jamais sur la partie supérieure exible du sabot
pour barbe. Tirez toujours sur la partie inférieure.
Réglage pour obtenir une barbe de plusieurs
jours
1 Pour obtenir un effet « barbe de trois jours »,
utilisez la tondeuse avec le sabot pour barbe réglé
sur la position 1 (g. 7).
Tonte sans sabot pour barbe
Utilisez la tondeuse sans le sabot pour barbe pour vous
raser complètement la barbe ou pour éliminer les poils
rebelles.
1 Retirez le sabot pour barbe de l’appareil (g. 8).
Ne tirez jamais sur la partie supérieure exible du sabot
pour barbe. Tirez toujours sur la partie inférieure.
2 Allumez l’appareil.
3 Effectuez des mouvements précis et touchez
légèrement les poils avec la tondeuse (g. 9).
Utilisation de la tondeuse sur secteur
Si le niveau de charge de la batterie est faible, vous
pouvez utiliser l’appareil sur secteur :
1 Éteignez l’appareil, branchez l’adaptateur sur la
prise secteur et patientez quelques secondes avant
de mettre l’appareil en marche.
Remarque : Si la batterie est entièrement déchargée,
patientez quelques minutes avant de mettre l’appareil en
marche.
Nettoyage
N’utilisez jamais de tampons à récurer, de produits
abrasifs ou de détergents agressifs tels que de l’alcool,
de l’essence ou de l’acétone pour nettoyer l’appareil.
1 Assurez-vous que l’appareil est éteint et débranché.
2 Retirez le sabot pour barbe.
3 Ouvrez le bloc tondeuse (g. 10).
4 Nettoyez le bloc tondeuse et l’intérieur
de l’appareil avec la brosse de nettoyage
fournie (g. 11).
5 Fermez le bloc tondeuse en le replaçant sur
l’appareil (clic) (g. 12).
Remarque : L’appareil n’a pas besoin d’être lubrié.
Remplacement
Un bloc tondeuse usé ou endommagé doit être remplacé
uniquement par un bloc tondeuse d’origine Philips,
disponible auprès d’un Centre Service Agréé Philips.
1 Ouvrez le bloc tondeuse.
2 Retirez le bloc tondeuse en le faisant glisser vers le
haut (g. 13).
3 Insérez les deux languettes du nouveau bloc
tondeuse dans les fentes prévues à cet effet (g. 14).
4 Replacez le bloc tondeuse sur l’appareil
(clic) (g. 12).
Environnement
- Lorsqu’il ne fonctionnera plus, ne jetez pas l’appareil
avec les ordures ménagères, mais déposez-le à
un endroit assigné à cet effet, où il pourra être
recyclé. Vous contribuerez ainsi à la protection de
l’environnement (g. 15).
- La batterie rechargeable intégrée contient des
substances qui peuvent nuire à l’environnement.
Veillez à toujours retirer la batterie avant de mettre
l’appareil au rebut ou de le déposer à un endroit
assigné à cet effet. Déposez la batterie usagée à
un endroit assigné à cet effet. Si vous n’arrivez
pas à retirer la batterie, vous pouvez apporter
l’appareil dans un Centre Service Agréé Philips qui
prendra toute l’opération en charge pour préser ver
l’environnement. (g. 16)
Retrait de la batterie rechargeable
Retirez la batterie rechargeable lorsqu’elle est
complètement déchargée.
1 Débranchez l’appareil de la prise secteur et laissez-
le fonctionner jusqu’à l’arrêt complet du moteur.
2 Dévissez le corps de la tondeuse (g. 17).
3 Écartez les deux parties du boîtier à l’aide d’un
tournevis (g. 18).
4 Coupez les ls près du compartiment à piles avec
des ciseaux (g. 19).
5 Retirez le support de la batterie et la batterie
rechargeable (g. 20).
6 Utilisez un tournevis pour séparer la batterie du
circuit imprimé (g. 21).
Ne branchez plus l’appareil sur le secteur après avoir
l’avoir ouvert.
