PC and generator settings to avoid problems during up-/downloading of CU Complete files

Optimus RAD-R/F release 2.x and 3.x CMOS data are up-/downloaded in one string without
handshake.
Any kind of interruption can cause the loading process to fail.
Problems occur mainly during the download to the PC.
A download file which is not complete can not be used as safety backup file.

The service PC can be prepared to guarantee a safe loading process.

XRGSCOPE should be started from DOS if possible.
No screensaver should be active.
No other program, application or CD drive should be active using WINDOWS any version.
Any kind of power management of the PC hardware as well as the WINDOWS power management
should be off. If connected to mains power some of these might be automatically off.

Preparing the generator:

At generators which are connected to a system with CAN connected controller

- Thoravision

- Bucky TH + TH2

- Digital Diagnost

- Easy Diagnost systems with Bucky unit
the CAN connection EZX43-1 or EZX42-1 + 43-1 must be removed.

The signal bus EZX23 must also be removed at

- Thoravision and

- Digital Diagnost
systems.

Then the generator has to be turned on. The download procedure must not be started before ENK1
energized about 2 minutes after turn-on.

At generators with a non-CAN system the loading process can be started once ENK1 energized.

CU Complete download files and other xxx.TDL files should be mailed in a zipped format.
xxx.TDL files are ASCII files which might be "modified" during mailing.

With WIN2k use XRGSCOPE which is with Optimus release 3.5 or in the upgrade area, first start
PMSSEC, then XRGSCOPE.
Flash and up- downloads are not 100% safe.
The best solution actually: Use the bootable CD-ROM 4522 210 42351 (came with the first edition of
the customer services CD-ROM package 2003).
It still requires the hard key at the printer port.
