Warnings
1.
Safety regulations require that the unit should be returned in its original condition and that components identical to the original components are used. The safety components are indicated by the symbol or $.
2. ESD
All ICs and many other semiconductors are sensitive to electrostatic discharges (ESD). Careless handling during repair can drastically shorten the life. Make sure that during repair you are connected by a pulse band with resistance to the same potential as the earth of the unit. Keep components and tools also at this same potential.
3. When repairing a unit, always connect it to the mains
voltage via an isolating transformer. The lamp supply and the lamp housing are not mains isolated.
4. Be careful when taking measurements in the high-voltage
section.
5. Never replace modules or other components while the
unit is switched on.
6. When making settings, use plastic rather than metal tools.
This will prevent any short circuits and the danger of a circuit becoming unstable.
7. After repair the wiring should be fastened once more in
the cable clamps for this purpose.
8. In order to prevent measuring errors, the heat sinks
should not be used as reference points for measurements.
9. The Lamp house and the lamp get hot during operation.
Please ensure that they are cooled down before servicing.
10. The lighthouse (optical part) is extremely sensitive to dust.
This part should only be opened in a dust-free environment (class 100 according to the US federal standard 209).
Notes
1.
The direct voltages and oscillograms should be measured with regard to earth (4), or hot earth (5) as this is called.
2. The semiconductors indicated in the circuit diagram and in
the parts lists are completely interchangeable per position with the semiconductors in the unit, irrespective of the type indication on these semiconductors.

4.1 Opening the cabinet
1. Remove the 2 screws (A) in the backcover. Remove the back cover.
2. Now push the two brackets (B) slightly forward and remove the topcover. Remove focus ring (C) by pulling it off, and take of the front with the 2 brackets attached to it.

4.2 Removing/servicing the SEB board
1. Remove the keyboard.
2. Remove the 4 hex-nut screws (D) fixing the DATA-sockets to the rear plate, the screw fixing the SVHS socket and the 2 screws (E) fixing the AV sockets.
3. Carefully remove the SE-board from the 3 distance pieces.
4. Remove fixing clip “F”
5. Open the connector for the flatfoil cables and remove them.
6. Remove connector “G” (loudspeaker connector).
7. Now the SEB board can be flipped backwards to reach the other side. (put some isolation material underneath the board when switching the set on).
8. In order to operate the set extension cables can be connected between the board and the LCD panels.
9. To remove the board, remove the other connectors from the board.

4.4 Removing the Power supply
1. Remove the 3 cables connected to the board.
2. Remove the 4 screws fixing the boards (4 corners). (Remark: the 2 screws with rings are for the metal screw-holes).
3. Remove the board.
4.5 Removing the lamp supply
1. Remove the 2 screws fixing the lamp supply bracket.
2. Remove the bracket.
3. Remove the lamp supply.
4.6 Removing the optical engine
1. Remove the 3 screws (H) fixing the engine.
2. Remove the engine. (Remark: The reco-unit is fixed from the top with 4 screws).

1. Connect the cable from the IR receiver to connector 1740.
2. Connect the cable from temperature sensor on the lamphouse to “1620”.
3. Connect the cable from the lampfan to 1910.
4. Connect the cable from the lampsupply to 1902.
5. Connect the cable 4 pin connector with 2 wires (filter switch) to 1914.
6. Connect the 3-pin connector (PCS fan) to 1912.
7. Connect the 4 pin connector with 3 wires (LCD fan) to 1913.
