This mixer is developed to condently handle a broad variety of ingredients
and recipes and deliver a long-lasting performance. Its powerful motor allows you to comfortably handle up to 1kg dough over and over again.

Important

Read this user manual carefully before you use the appliance and save it for future reference.

Danger

- Do not immerse the motor unit in water nor rinse it under the tap.

Warning

- Check if the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds to the local mains voltage before you connect the appliance.
- Do not use the appliance if the mains cord, the plug or other par ts are damaged.
- If the mains cord is damaged, you must have it replaced by Philips, a
service centre authorised by Philips or similarly qualied persons in
order to avoid a hazard.
- This appliance is intended for household use only. If the appliance is used improperly or for professional or semi-professional purposes or if it is not used according to the instructions in the user manual, the guarantee becomes invalid and Philips refuses any liability for damage caused.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of
experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
Caution
- Always insert the beaters or kneading hooks into the mixer before you connect it to the mains.
- Lower the beaters or kneading hooks into the ingredients before you switch on the appliance.
- Always unplug the mixer before you insert or remove the beaters or kneading hooks and before you clean it.
- Keep the appliance and mains cord away from hot surfaces or stoves. Exposure to high temperature can cause the material to melt which may lead to a hazardous situation.
- Never use any accessories or parts from other manufacturers or that
Philips does not specically recommend. If you use such accessories or
parts, your guarantee becomes invalid.
- Do not hold, lift up, carry the appliance by its power cord.
- Never pull the cord to unplug the appliance.
- To prevent damage and injuries, keep the running appliance away from long hair, clothes, cords, etc.
- In order to avoid a hazardous situation due to inadvertent resetting of the thermal cut-out, this appliance must never be connected to a timer switch.
Electromagnetic elds (EMF)
This Philips appliance complies with all standards regarding electromagnetic
elds (EMF). If handled properly and according to the instructions in this user manual, the appliance is safe to use based on scientic evidence available
today.
Overheat protection
The appliance is equipped with a built-in overheat protection. If you process a heavy load, the motor unit may become hot. If this happens, the built-in safety system switches off the appliance. Switch off and unplug the

appliance. Let the appliance cool down for 30 minutes before you continue to use it.
Using the appliance
1 Insert the beaters or kneading hooks into the mixer (‘click’). You may
need to turn them slightly while you do this (Fig. 2).
Note: Insert the kneading hook or the beater with the collar into the larger opening in the bottom of the mixer.
2 Put the plug in the wall socket.
Note: Always check if the speed selector is in 0 position before you plug in the mixer.
3 Put the ingredients in a bowl.
See the table below for the recommended quantities and processing times.

*) Start mixing at a low speed to avoid splashing. Slowly increase the speed later.
4 Lower the beaters or kneading hooks into the ingredients.
5 Set the speed control to the desired speed to switch on the
appliance (Fig. 3).
- You can use the turbo setting to mix more quickly or to increase the speed during heavy jobs, e.g. kneading yeast dough.
- If you want to stop mixing for a while, set the speed control to ‘0’ to switch off the mixer. Then put the mixer (with the beaters or kneading hooks still attached) on its heel until you continue.
- It is recommended to use the turbo speed for mixing sponge cake and egg white.

7 Pull up the eject lever to eject the beaters or kneading hooks (Fig. 4).
Cleaning
Always unplug the appliance before you clean it.
Never immerse the motor unit in water or rinse it under the tap.
1 Clean the beaters and kneading hooks in warm water with some
washing-up liquid or in the dishwasher.
2 Clean the motor unit with a moist cloth.
Storage
1 Wind the cord round the heel of the appliance. (Fig. 5)

the end of its life, but hand it in at an ofcial collection point for recycling. By doing this, you help to preserve the environment (Fig. 6).

Recipes
Toscana bread
Ingredients:
- 750g our
- 420ml cold water
- 75g oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- ½ package yeast
- 1 teaspoon dry rosemar y
- 25g green or black drained olives without stones.
Note: Your mixer comes without a one-litre beaker, but you can order the beaker from your Philips dealer.
1 Puttheour,water,salt,sugar,oilandyeastinabowl.
2 Knead the dough with the kneading hooks for maximum 3 minutes on
Turbo.
3 Put the bowl with the dough in the refrigerator for 60 minutes.
4 Add the rosemary and the olives to the dough and put it into a
one-litre beaker.
5 Insert the kneading hooks and use the turbo setting to mix the
ingredients for 10 seconds.
6 Bake the Toscana bread in a baking tin at 180°C for approximately 30
minutes.
Note: This recipe is extremely heavy for your mixer. Let your mixer cool down for 60 minutes after preparing this recipe.
