IMPORTANT The following information and precautions are important when epilating:
w CAUTION: Methods of removing hair by the root can cause
in-grown hairs and minor skin injuries. Please consult your doctor if you have any questions about the use of an epilator.
w Do not use the epilator head if you suffer from varicose veins,
spots or blemishes, or when the skin is irritated or if you have in-grown hairs or a tendency to produce in-grown hairs. Consult your doctor first.
w Any minor injury resulting from hair removal may allow
bacteria to penetrate the injury site potentially causing small scars or a change in pigmentation of the skin. The risk of infection may be minimized by thoroughly cleaning the rotating discs before and/or after each use. (See Cleaning section).
w The epilator should only be used after prior consultation with your
doctor if you have or experience:
• Open wounds
• Eczema, psoriasis (scaly eczema), inflamed skin reactions such as folliculitis, skin rashes or the tendency to allergy or allergic skin reactions
• Immune deficiency or disorders
• Couperose, rosacea, or varicose veins
• Pregnancy
• Reduced skin immunity as a result of diabetes, pregnancy, Raynaud’s disease, etc.
• Hemophilia
• If you have moles, raised skin bumps, etc.
w If you have been or begin taking hormone medication, or recently
been pregnant, a change in your hormone levels may influence the thickness, color or amount of hair growth. This is caused by the hormonal changes, not by this method of hair removal.
w Clean the epilating head regularly following CLEANING
instructions.

To Charge/Recharge
w Fully charge trimmer before using for the first time or after non-use
for a long period of time.
w Battery performance is best if you recharge only when the battery
is (almost) completely empty.
wChargingorrechargingattemperaturesbelow40˚F(4,5°C)or
higherthan95˚F(35°C)adverselyaffectslifespanofthebattery.
w Continuously recharging trimmer will reduce lifespan of battery.
1 Be certain trimmer is OFF.
2 Insert the appliance plug directly into the trimmer (fig. 1).
3 Plug charging plug into any 120V AC outlet. Use only the
cord provided.
4 The charging light on the adapter will light to indicate the
trimmer is charging (fig. 2).
w It will take approximately 10 hours to fully charge the trimmer for
a cordless trimming time of up to 60 minutes.
NOTE: After the trimmer is fully charged, the charging light will remain lit.
3 Press the hair length selector (1) and slide it up or down (2)
to the desired hair length setting (fig. 5). The selected setting number will appear on the colored circle on the handle. See Table 1 for settings.
w If you are trimming for the first time, start by using the comb at the
maximum trimming length setting (#5). As you become familiar with the settings, adjust hair length selector to desired trimming length. Selector will “click” into position at each setting.
4 Switch the trimmer ON.
5 To trim in the most effective way, move the trimmer against the
direction of hair growth (fig. 6). Make sure the surface of the comb always stays in contact with the skin. For easier trimming, stretch the skin with your free hand (fig. 7).
NOTE: Since all hairs do not grow in the same direction, you may want to try different trimming directions (i.e., upwards, downwards, or across). Practice is best for optimum results.
w If a lot of hair has accumulated in the comb, remove the comb and
blow and/or shake the hair out of the comb. You can also use the cleaning brush provided to remove hair from the comb area.

w The remaining hair length corresponds with the smallest distance
between the cutting blade and the spot where the comb is in contact with the skin.
5 Disconnect the cord and unplug the power plug from electrical
outlet.
Optimize the working life of the battery
w After the trimmer has been charged for the first time, do not
recharge the trimmer between trimming sessions. Continue using it until the battery is completely empty.
w Do not charge for more than 24 hours. w Do not keep cord permanently plugged in. w Discharge/run down the battery completely twice a year by letting
the motor run until it stops.
w If the trimmer hasn’t been used for a long period of time, it must
be recharged for a full 10 hours.
Cordless Trimming
1 Charge according to directions. Unplug trimmer from outlet.
2 Slide ON/OFF switch ON to begin trimming.

approximately .24in/6mm.
w Be creative when styling your bikini line. You can draw and cut out a
template, such as a heart shape, to create your own personal style.
1 Be certain trimmer is in the OFF position.
2 Remove the precision comb attachment by pressing the hair
length selector (1) and sliding the comb upwards (2) (fig. 8).
3 Make sure precision trimmer is on handle.
4 Switch trimmer ON.
5 The trimmer can be used with the precision trimmer teeth

Epilating (HP6378 only)
Use the epilating head to epilate your bikini line.
w Make sure your skin is clean, free from grease and creams. Do not
apply any cream before using. Hairs are easier to remove after a bath or a shower, but your skin should be completely dry before using the epilating head.
w If your hair is longer than .20in/5mm, first trim hair using the
precision trimmer with the precision comb at setting #3.
w With first time use you may feel some discomfort, irritation or
experience reddening of the skin. This is because the hairs are actually being removed at the root. The discomfort you feel will tend to lessen with successive uses. However, if the irritation remains for more than three days, consult your doctor.
w After epilation, regrowth of hairs tends to be softer both in
appearance and in touch.
1 Be certain trimmer is in the OFF position.
2 Put the epilating head on the handle.
3 Switch trimmer ON.
4 To epilate the most effective way, move the epilating head against
the direction of hair growth. Make sure the surface of the epilating head always stays in contact with the skin (fig. 15). For easier epilating, stretch the skin with your free hand.
Do not exert any pressure when epilating.

from trimmer before cleaning.
w Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, scourers or liquids such as
alcohol, benzene, bleach or acetone to clean the trimmer and attachments.
w Never clean, replace or remove attachments with motor ON. w Do not apply pressure to cutters. w Do not touch cutters with hard objects as this may damage them.
During Use:
w If cut hairs have accumulated in the attachments, remove hairs by
shaking, blowing or using cleaning brush provided. Remember to adjust the hair length selector back to your selected setting when you replace the precision comb on trimmer.
After Each Use:
