Body cleansing

C Body cleansing consists of two main routines: 1) daily cleansing and 2) a more intensive cleansing routine: exfoliation.

Cleansing

Body cleansing is a basic part of women's beauty routine. Cleansing the skin is a prerequisite for maintaining a clean and healthy skin. It revitalises the skin and prepares it for other treatments such as moisturising or deep cleansing.

Exfoliation

The purpose of exfoliating is to remove dead skin cells to obtain a soft and smooth skin. Exfoliation makes room at the skin's surface to allow the deeper layer of newer skin cells to reach the surface of the skin.

Removing these dead skin cells can make a huge difference to the appearance and feel of the skin and lends a fresher and softer look to the skin.

How does the Bodyvital fit into these routines?

The Bodyvital has been carefully developed to offer you the pleasant sensation of effective cleansing and exfoliation of the skin.

Integrated gel system

C You can use the Bodyvital with your regular shower gel.The integrated gel system gives you optimal control over where and how much gel is applied for effective cleansing and exfoliation.

Unique brushes

The new Bodyvital has specially developed soft brushes, which gently rotate to deeply cleanse your skin.

C Cleansing brush

The curved surface of the daily cleansing brush follows the contours of your body, providing gentle and effective cleansing.

C Exfoliating brush

The surface of the exfoliating brush has been specially designed for optimal exfoliation.The longer filaments of the brush lift away impurities and gently exfoliate dead skin cells.

Massage settings

C The Bodyvital provides a pleasant massage while cleansing the skin. It has two massage settings that allow you to select the preferred massage treatment.

Important

The appliance is waterproof and can be used in the shower. Don't fully immerse the appliance in water too long.

Very thick gels or creams may be too thick for the gel system to handle. In case of doubt, try a limited amount of gel or cream first. If it appears too thick, clean the appliance and put the gel or cream on the brush instead of in the gel system.

Do not put scrubbing or exfoliating gels in the gel system, as the grains in these gels might have an adverse effect on the lifetime of the pumping mechanism.

Please note that you should not put two different products in the gel system at the same time.These two products might react, causing them to become thicker, smelly etc.

The Bodyvital has been designed to do the work for you. It is sufficient to place the brush onto the skin. It is therefore not necessary for you to exert pressure on the appliance. If you push the appliance too hard onto your skin, the brush will stop rotating.

Do not use the Bodyvital on dry, chapped skin or when you suffer from skin diseases or skin irritations such as acne, sunburn, etc.

Please note that the condition of the skin varies throughout the year.When your skin is drier than normal you should reduce the treatment time.

Do not press the brush too hard onto your skin. Using the Bodyvital should always feel pleasant.

Use the Bodyvital on sensitive areas for a shorter time than on other parts of your body.

The Bodyvital is not meant for cleansing or exfoliating the facial skin. For the face we recommend the Philips Visapure.

Regular cleaning of the appliance ensures optimal results and a longer life.

Keep the appliance away from children.

To achieve the best results, the Bodyvital should be used as described on the following pages.

Preparing the appliance for use

Inserting the batteries

	C		Open the battery compartment by
		1
			unscrewing it.
		Please make sure that your hands are dry when
		inserting the batteries. Do not insert batteries
		while showering or taking a bath.
		The Bodyvital uses four R6 AA 1.5 volt batteries.
		For a longer running time, it is recommended to
		use Alkaline batteries.
C			Put the 4 batteries in the appliance.

Note: match the +/- symbols on the battery with the +/- marks in the battery compartment.

3 Screw the battery compartment back onto the appliance.

The Bodyvital is a waterproof appliance.To stay

waterproof, the battery compartment must be properly closed.When you screw the lid of the battery compartment back onto the appliance, make sure you screw it really tight.

Integrated gel system

C 1 Detach the gel system from the appliance.

C 2	Fill the gel system with your regular
	shower gel or cream.
Very thick gels or creams may be too thick for
the gel system to handle. In case of doubt, try a
limited amount of gel or cream first. If it appears
too thick, clean the appliance and put the gel or
cream on the brush instead of in the gel system.
C 3	Attach the gel system to the appliance.
4	Push the dispense button a few times until
	the gel or cream appears.The appliance is
	now ready for use.

If you want to refill the gel system or put a new type of gel or cream in it, first clean the gel system under the tap.

Using the Bodyvital

The Bodyvital has been designed to do the work for you. It is sufficient to place the brush onto the skin. It is therefore not necessary for you to exert pressure on the appliance. If you push the appliance too hard onto your skin, the brush will stop rotating.

Daily cleansing with the cleansing brush

C 1	Snap the cleansing brush onto the
	appliance.
C 2	Push the on/off button.
C 3	Choose the preferred massage setting.
C 4	Place the brush onto your skin. Gently
	move the brush across your body while

making circular movements.

5Push the dispense button to apply the preferred amount of gel or cream.

For optimal performance, make sure the opening of the gel system is pointing downwards when you push the dispense button.

Do not overdo the cleansing procedure Remember that cleansing should always feel pleasant.

Tip: don't use the Bodyvital too long on sensitive areas such as the neckline.

Deep cleansing with the exfoliating brush

1Snap the exfoliating brush onto the appliance.

2Push the on/off button.

3Choose the preferred massage setting.

4Place the brush onto your skin. Gently move the brush across your body while making circular movements.

5Push the dispense button to apply the preferred amount of gel.

For optimal performance, make sure the opening of the gel system is pointing downwards when you push the dispense button.

Cleaning and storing

1 Clean the appliance and the brushes after each use.

Do not use any alcohol, acetone, petrol, abrasive

cleansing agents etc. to clean the plastic parts.

2Rinse the Bodyvital and the brushes under the tap. Use warm water of max. 60cC.

3Also rinse the inside of the brush.

4Dry the Bodyvital and the brushes with a towel.

5Store the dry Bodyvital in the beauty pouch.

6Remove the batteries from the Bodyvital if the appliance is not going to be used for some time.

Tip: if the filaments have become deformed, you can restore them to their original shape by rinsing the brush in warm water.

Maintenance and replacement

Replacement brushes

Replace the brushes every 6 months for good

cleansing and exfoliation results.

Replace the brush if the deformed filaments can no longer be restored to their original shape.Worn filaments will move impurities around rather than remove them.They could

also irritate your skin.

C New brushes are available from the shop in which you purchased your Philips beauty Bodyvital. If you have problems finding replacement brushes, see under "Information and Service".

Environment

If you discard the appliance in due course, dispose of it in accordance with the instructions of your local authority.

Remove the batteries when you discard the appliance.

Do not throw batteries away with the normal household waste, but hand them in at an official collection point.You can also take the batteries to a Philips service centre, which will dispose of them in an environmentally safe way.

Before you throw away the batteries, let the appliance run until the batteries are completely empty.

Körperreinigung

C Körperreinigung umfasst zwei verschiedene Vorgänge: 1) die tägliche Reinigung und 2) ein intensiveres Vorgehen, die Exfoliation, auch Peeling genannt.

Reinigung

Die Körperreinigung ist wesentlicher Bestandteil der weiblichen Schönheitspflege. Die Reinigung (Cleansing) ist unentbehrlich zur Erhaltung einer sauberen und gesunden Haut. Die Haut wird dadurch revitalisiert und für die weitere Behandlung, z. B. mit Feuchtigkeitsoder Nährcreme, vorbereitet.

Exfoliation

Die Exfoliation besteht darin, dass die abgestorbenen oberen Hautzellen entfernt werden und dadurch eine glatte Haut entsteht. Durch die Exfoliation kann eine tiefere Schicht neuer Zellen die Hautoberläche erreichen.

Wenn die abgestorbenen Zellen der Hautoberfläche entfernt werden, sieht sie jugendlicher aus und fühlt sich geschmeidiger an.

Die Oberfläche des Peelingaufsatzes ermöglicht ein optimales Peeling. Die längeren Borsten an diesem Aufsatz wischt alle Unreinheiten fort und entfernt abgestorbene Hautzellen auf sanfte Weise.

Massage-Einstellungen

C Während der Hautreinigung führt Ihr Bodyvital eine angenehme Massage durch. Sie können zwischen zwei Stufen der MassageIntensität wählen.

Wichtig

Das Gerät ist zwar wasserdicht, tauchen Sie es trotzdem nicht vollständig in Wasser.

Manches Gel bzw.manche Creme ist zu dickflüssig, um vom Gel-System verarbeitet zu werden. Machen Sie im Zweifel eine Probe mit einer kleinen Menge. Gibt es Schwierigkeiten, so tragen Sie das Gel/die Creme mit der Bürste auf, ohne das Gel-System einzusetzen.

Verwenden Sie in diesem Gerät kein scheuerndes Hautpflegeoder Peelingmittel; die darin enthaltenen Körnchen könnten dem Pumpmechanismus des Geräts schaden und die Nutzungsdauer herabsetzen.

Verwenden Sie in diesem Gerät niemals zwei verschiedene Pflegemittel zur gleichen Zeit. Beide Produkte könnten miteinander reagieren, die Konsistenz verändern oder unangenehme Düfte entwickeln.

Philips Bodyvital ist speziell für Sie entwickelt. Setzen Sie einfach die Bürste an Ihre Haut. Sie brauchen keinen Druck auszuüben.Wenn Sie das Gerät zu stark andrücken, rotiert die Bürste nicht mehr.

Verwenden Sie Bodyvital nicht an trockener, rissiger oder schuppiger Haut; auch nicht bei Sonnenbrand oder krankhaften Hautveränderungen.

Bedenken Sie auch bitte, dass sich die Hautbeschaffenheit im Laufe des Jahres verändert.Wenn Ihre Haut trockener ist als üblich, sollten Sie die Behandlungsdauer verkürzen.

Drücken Sie die Bürste und den Peelingaufsatz nicht zu stark an. Die Anwendung von Bodyvital soll immer angenehm sein.

Einige Hautpartien sind besonders empfindlich.Verkürzen Sie an diesen Stellen die Anwendungsdauer.

Bodyvital ist nicht zur Anwendung im Gesicht geeignet. Zu diesem Zweck empfehlen wir Philips Visapur.

Durch regelmäßige Reinigung erhöhen Sie die Nutzungsdauer des Geräts und sichern ein optimales Ergebnis.

Halten Sie das Gerät von Kindern fern.

Das beste Ergebnis erhalten Sie, wenn Sie Bodyvital genau nach den Empfehlungen in dieser Gebrauchsanweisung verwenden.

Vor dem Gebrauch

Batterien einlegen

C 1 Schrauben Sie das Batteriefach auf.

Achten Sie darauf, dass Ihre Hände beim Einlegen

der Batterien völlig trocken sind. Legen Sie die

Batterien nicht während des Duschens oder

Badens ein.

Bodyvital benötigt 4 R6 AA 1,5 V Batterien.Wir empfehlen Alkaline-Batterien wegen Ihrer längeren Nutzungsdauer.

C 2 Legen Sie die 4 Batterien in das

Batteriefach ein.

Hinweis: Achten Sie auf die Markierungen. Die

Symbole (+) auf der Batterie müssen mit dem

Symbol (+) im Batteriefach übereinstimmen

3 Schrauben Sie das Batteriefach wieder fest zu.

Philips Bodyvital ist wasserdicht. Schließen Sie das

Batteriefach ordnungsgemäß, damit kein Wasser eindringt. Geben Sie darum darauf Acht, dass Sie die Schraube wieder fest andrehen, wenn Sie den

Deckel des Batteriefachs wieder aufsetzen.

Integriertes Gel-System

C 1 Nehmen Sie das Gel-System vom Gerät ab.

C 2 Füllen Sie das Gel-System mit dem von Ihnen bevorzugten Gel bzw. bevorzugter Creme.

Manches Gel bzw.manche Creme ist zu dickflüssig, um vom Gel-System verarbeitet zu werden. Machen Sie im Zweifel eine Probe mit einer kleinen Menge. Gibt es Schwierigkeiten, so tragen Sie das Gel/die Creme mit der Bürste auf, ohne das Gel-System einzusetzen.

1Setzen Sie den Peelingaufsatz auf das Gerät, so dass er einrastet ("Klick").

2Drücken Sie den Ein-/Ausschalter.

3Schalten Sie die gewünschte MassageIntensität ein.

4Setzen Sie den Bürstenkopf an Ihre Haut, und führen Sie das Gerät mit kreisenden Bewegungen über den Körper.

5Drücken Sie die Spendertaste, um die angemessene Menge Gel/Creme aufzutragen.

Achten Sie darauf, dass die Öffnung des GelSystems auf Sie zu zeigt, wenn Sie die Spendertaste drücken. So erhalten Sie das beste Resultat.

5Bewahren Sie das Gerät in der mitgelieferten Tasche auf.

6Nehmen Sie die Batterien aus dem Batteriefach, wenn Sie beabsichtigen, das Gerät längere Zeit nicht zu benutzen.

Hinweis:Wenn sich die Borsten verformt haben, können Sie sie durch Spülen in warmem Wasser wieder aufrichten.

Ersatzteile

Ersetzen Sie die Reinigungsbürste und den Peelingaufsatz alle 6 Monate, damit Sie stets den besten Erfolg erzielen.

Ersetzen Sie die Teile spätestens dann, wenn sich die Borsten nicht mehr in die ursprüngliche Form bringen lassen. Verbrauchte Borsten verteilen die Unreinheiten anstatt sie zu beseitigen. Sie

können auch Hautreizungen verursachen. C Neue Reinigungsbürsten und Peelingaufsätze

erhalten Sie bei Ihrem Philips Händler, dort wo das Gerät gekauft wurde. Sollten die Beschaffung Schwierigkeiten bereiten, so wenden Sie sich in eine Service-Stelle, die in der beiliegenden Garantieschrift zu finden ist.

Umweltschutz

Wenn Sie nach Ablauf der Zeit das Gerät außer Gebrauch nehmen, so entsorgen Sie es bitte nach den geltenden Vorschriften in Ihrem Kande.

Nehmen Sie die Batterien heraus und entsorgen Sie sie ordnungsgemäß.
