Introduction
This new Philips Aqua Satin Pro Style has been
specially designed to give beautiful styling results
in a quick and easy way.The 2 exchangeable
attachments - the round brush and the shaping
brush - allow you to make healthy and shiny curls
or waves.
This appliance has a unique integrated conditioner
reservoir for Pro Style hair conditioning lotion,
which allows you to condition your hair while
styling.This lotion has very good conditioning
properties: it softens your hair, makes it easier to
comb and adds shine.
Important
Read these instructions for use carefully before
using the appliance and save them for future
reference.
◗ Check if the voltage indicated on the
appliance corresponds to the local mains
voltage before you connect the appliance.
◗ Check the condition of the mains cord
regularly. Do not use the appliance if the plug,
the cord or the appliance itself is damaged.
◗ If the mains cord is damaged, this appliance
must be discarded.
◗ Keep this appliance away from water! Do not
use this product near or over water
contained in baths, washbasins, sinks etc.
When used in a bathroom, unplug the

appliance after use since the proximity of
water presents a risk.
◗ For additional protection,we advise you to
install a residual current device (RCD) with a
rated residual operating current not
exceeding 30mA in the electrical circuit
supplying the bathroom.Ask your installer for
advice.
◗ If the appliance overheats, it will switch off
automatically. Unplug the appliance and let it
cool down for a few minutes.Before you put
the plug back into the socket again, check the
grille to make sure it is not blocked by fluff,
hair, etc.
◗ Keep the appliance out of the reach of
children.
◗ Never block the air inlet grille.
◗ Only use the appliance on dry or damp hair.
◗ Only use this appliance in combination with
the specially developed HP4949 Pro Style hair
conditioning lotion or with tap water.
◗ If the hair conditioning lotion comes into
contact with the eyes, flush the eyes with
water for at least 15 minutes. Obtain medical
attention if the irritation persists.
◗ The barrel becomes hot during use. Prevent
contact with the skin.
◗ Always unplug the appliance after use.
◗ Wait until the appliance has cooled down
before storing it.
◗ Do not wind the mains cord round the
appliance.

Preparing for use
Filling the reservoir

1 Detach the hair conditioner reservoir
from the appliance.

2 Open the reservoir and fill it with hair
conditioning lotion.
◗ The reservoir can also be filled with water
under a gently running tap.
◗ Always make sure that the reservoir is full
before you start styling.
Keep the appliance itself away from water!
3 Close the reservoir. First insert the
narrow end of the reservoir into the
appliance and then push the broader end
of the reservoir home.You will hear a
click.
Preparing for styling
If you want to create curls with the round brush,
we advise you to perform a curl test to
determine how long the brush should be held in
your hair to achieve a good result.
◗ Start with 8 to 10 seconds.You may have to
hold the brush in your hair longer for tighter

curls. Less tight curls will require less than 8
seconds.
1 Put the plug in the wall socket.

2 Make sure the slide is in the m position
(heat only).
3 While the appliance is heating up, comb or
brush the hair so that it is disentangled
and smooth. Use a comb to divide the hair
into locks. Do not put too much hair in
one lock.

The appliance is ready for use after approx. 2
minutes.
◗ To ensure optimal performance, do not
activate the conditioning function more than
twice in 10 seconds.
Make sure the slide is in the m position (heat
only).
Using the appliance
Styling with the round brush

1 Take a lock of hair and wind it round the
brush. Make sure the end of the lock is
wound in the required direction.
- Do not wind too much hair round the barrel at
a time.

- The thinner the lock of hair, the tigher the curl
will be.
- Do not wind a lock of hair more than twice
round the brush.
- Make sure the lock of hair is in contact with the
barrel of the brush.
1 If you wind the hair at right angles to the
scalp, you will give your hair optimum lift
and volume.

2 Activate the conditioning function by
pushing the button on the reservoir.
One push will suffice to set one curl or wave.
If the conditioning function does not work, the
reservoir may be empty. Refill the reservoir.

3 Set the appliance to the desired setting.
m: normal heat, no airflow.
~: a gentle, warm airflow for easy styling.
6: a stronger and warmer airflow for fast styling.
4 Hold the brush in place as long as required
(normally 8 to 10 seconds).
5 Remove the brush from your hair by
carefully unwinding the lock of hair.
Make sure you keep the brush away from the
underlying hair when you remove it.

6 Let the curls cool down before combing,
brushing or finger-combing the hair to
finish your style.
Styling with the shaping brush
The special design of the shaping brush ensures
that the warm air is directed at the scalp, creating
maximum root lift. It adds optimum body to your
hair and allows you to easily shape the desired
style.
The shaping brush can be used to create large
curls and waves and also to curl the hair ends
inwards or outwards.

1 Disconnect the round brush.

2 Attach the shaping brush.
Volume & waves
1 Place the shaping brush in the hair in such
a way that the pins touch your scalp.

2 Brush against the direction of hair growth.

3 Then move the appliance away from the
head while turning the brush.
This will cause the hair to be lifted and to fall
lightly back onto the head, creating maximum
volume.
◗ If the hair is damp, you can hold the shaping
brush still for a moment before moving the
appliance away from the head while turning
the brush.

4 Let the curls cool down before combing,
brushing or finger-combing the hair to
finish your style.
Cleaning
Always unplug the appliance before cleaning it.
Never rinse the appliance with water.
1 Clean the appliance with a small brush or a
dry cloth.
2 Clean the attachments with a moist cloth
or by rinsing them under the tap.
Remove the attachments from the appliance
before cleaning them.
Make sure the attachments are dry before using
or storing them.
3 If you use tap water instead of
conditioning lotion, scale will develop in
the reservoir.To remove the scale, you

should clean the reservoir every 2 months.
Remove the reservoir, add 3-4 drops of
vinegar, top it up with water and put it
back into the appliance. Put the plug in the
wall socket and wait at least 2 minutes.
Hold the appliance with the barrel pointing
downwards and activate the conditioning
function for 3 seconds. Keep activating the
conditioning function at brief intervals until
the reservoir is empty.Then unplug the
appliance and rinse the reservoir with
water.
Storage
Always unplug the appliance before storing it.

◗ If the conditioner reservoir is almost empty,
detach it and rinse it with water before
storing the appliance.
◗ Put the appliance in a safe place and let it cool
down.
◗ Do not wind the mains cord round the
appliance.
◗ The appliance can be stored by hanging it
from its hanging loop.
Replacement
◗ Always return the appliance to a service
centre authorised by Philips for examination
or repair. Repair by unqualified people could
cause an extremely hazardous situation for
the user.

Der neue Aqua Satin Pro Styler von Philips wurde
speziell für schnelles und einfaches Stylen
entwickelt. Mit den beiden austauschbaren
Aufsätzen - Rundbürste und Frisierbürste können Sie gepflegte und glänzende Locken oder
Wellen kreieren.
Dieses Gerät ist mit einem integrierten Behälter
für Pro Style Haar-Conditioner ausgestattet: Sie
pflegen Ihr Haar beim Stylen. Diese Lotion hat
hervorragende Pflegeeigenschaften: Ihr Haar wird
weich, lässt sich leichter kämmen und erhält extra
Glanz.
Wichtig
Lesen Sie diese Bedienungsanleitung vor dem
ersten Gebrauch des Geräts sorgfältig durch und

◗ Prüfen Sie, bevor Sie das Gerät in Betrieb
nehmen, ob die Spannungsangabe auf dem
Gerät mit der örtlichen Netzspannung

◗ Der Einbau einer
Fehlerstromschutzeinrichtung mit einem
Nennauslösestrom von maximal 30 mA in den
betreffenden Stromkreis bietet zusätzlichen
Schutz. Lassen Sie sich von Ihrem
Elektroinstallateur beraten.
◗ Überhitzt sich das Gerät, wird es automatisch
ausgeschaltet.Trennen Sie das Gerät vom
Stromnetz und lassen Sie es einige Minuten
abkühlen. Reinigen Sie das Lufteinlassgitter
von Flusen, Haaren usw., bevor Sie das Gerät
wieder an das Stromnetz anschließen.
◗ Halten Sie das Gerät außer Reichweite von
Kindern.
◗ Decken Sie das Lufteinlassgitter nicht ab.
◗ Benutzen Sie das Gerät nur bei trockenem
oder feuchtem Haar.

◗ Sollte die Haarpflegelotion in die Augen
geraten, spülen Sie die Augen mindestens 15
Minuten lang mit Wasser aus. Hält die Reizung
an, sollten Sie ärztliche Hilfe in Anspruch
nehmen.
◗ Der Stab wird beim Gebrauch heiß und sollte
nicht in Berührung mit der Haut kommen.

1 Nehmen Sie den Conditioner-Behälter
vom Gerät.

2 Öffnen Sie den Behälter und füllen Sie ihn
mit Conditioner.
◗ Sie können den Behälter auch unter einem
schwachen Strahl mit Wasser füllen.
◗ Achten Sie darauf, dass der Behälter gefüllt ist,
bevor Sie mit dem Stylen beginnen.
Halten Sie das Gerät selbst von Wasser fern!
3 Schließen Sie den Behälter. Setzen Sie
zuerst das schmalere Ende des Behälters in
das Gerät ein und schieben Sie dann das
breitere Ende ein, bis der Behälter hörbar
einrastet.

Vorbereitung zum Stylen
Wenn Sie mit der Rundbürste Locken kreieren
möchten, empfiehlt es sich, einen Lockentest
durchzuführen. So können Sie feststellen, wie
lange Sie die Bürste im Haar halten sollten, um
das gewünschte Ergebnis zu erzielen.
◗ Beginnen Sie mit 8 bis 10 Sekunden. Für
festere Locken müssen Sie möglicherweise die
Bürste länger im Haar halten.Weichere
Locken benötigen weniger als 8 Sekunden.
1 Stecken Sie den Netzstecker in die
Steckdose.

2 Achten Sie darauf, dass der Schiebeschalter
auf Position m (nur Wärme) steht.
3 Während sich das Gerät aufheizt, können
Sie Ihr Haar kämmen oder bürsten, damit
es glatt und locker fällt.Teilen Sie Ihr Haar
mit einem Kamm in Strähnen. Erfassen Sie
dabei nicht zu viel Haar in einer Strähne.

Das Gerät ist nach ca. 2 Minuten betriebsbereit.
◗ Für eine optimale Leistung des Geräts sollten
Sie die Conditioner-Funktion höchstens
zweimal innerhalb von 10 Sekunden
aktivieren.
Achten Sie darauf, dass der Schiebeschalter auf
Position m (nur Wärme) steht.

Benutzung des Geräts
Stylen mit der Rundbürste

1 Wickeln Sie eine Strähne um die Bürste.
Achten Sie darauf, dass die Haarspitzen in
der gewünschten Richtung aufgewickelt
werden.
- Wickeln Sie nicht zu viele Haare um den Stab.
- Je dünner die Haarsträhne, um so fester fällt die
Locke.
- Wickeln Sie die Strähne höchstens zweimal um
die Bürste.
- Die Haarsträhne muss den Stab der Bürste
berühren.
1 Wenn Sie das Haar senkrecht zur
Kopfhaut aufwickeln, geben Sie Ihrem Haar
extra Halt und Volumen.

2 Drücken Sie auf die Taste am Behälter, um
die Conditioner-Funktion zu aktivieren.
Einmaliges Drücken reicht, um eine Locke oder
Welle zu formen.
Sollte die Conditioner-Funktion nicht reagieren, ist
vermutlich der Behälter leer. Füllen Sie den
Behälter wieder auf.

3 Wählen Sie die gewünschte Einstellung.
m: Normale Wärme, kein Luftstrom.
~: Sanfter, warmer Luftstrom für einfaches Stylen.
6: Starker und warmer Luftstrom für schnelles
Stylen.

4 Halten Sie die Bürste in Position
(normalerweise 8 bis 10 Sekunden).
5 Wickeln Sie die Strähne vorsichtig ab und
nehmen Sie die Bürste aus dem Haar.
Halten Sie die Bürste beim Herausnehmen auf
Abstand von den darunter liegenden Haarpar tien.

6 Lassen Sie die Locken abkühlen, bevor Sie
die Frisur mit Kamm, Bürste oder Fingern
in die endgültige Form bringen.
Stylen mit der Frisierbürste
Durch die besondere Form der Frisierbürste wird
die warme Luft direkt auf die Kopfhaut gerichtet.
Ihr Haar erhält maximales Volumen vom
Haaransatz an und lässt sich leicht in die
gewünschte Frisur formen.
Mit der Frisierbürste können Sie große, weiche
Locken oder Wellen formen und die Haarspitzen
zu einer Innen- bzw.Außenrolle drehen.

1 Nehmen Sie die Rundbürste ab.

2 Setzen Sie die Frisierbürste auf das Gerät.

Volumen und Wellen
1 Setzen Sie die Frisierbürste so in Ihr Haar,
dass die Spitzen Ihre Kopfhaut berühren.

2 Bürsten Sie gegen die Haarwuchsrichtung.

3 Heben Sie dann das Gerät vom Kopf, und
drehen Sie dabei die Bürste.
Auf diese Weise wird das Haar angehoben und
fällt locker auf den Kopf zurück, so dass das
höchstmögliche Volumen erzielt wird.
◗ Bei feuchtem Haar können Sie die
Frisierbürste für einen Moment still halten,
bevor Sie das Gerät unter Drehen der Bürste
vom Kopf heben.

4 Lassen Sie die Locken abkühlen, bevor Sie
die Frisur mit Kamm, Bürste oder Fingern
in die endgültige Form bringen.
Reinigung
Trennen Sie das Gerät vor dem Reinigen immer
vom Stromnetz.
Spülen Sie das Gerät keinesfalls unter fließendem
Wasser ab.
1 Reinigen Sie das Gerät mit einer kleinen
Bürste oder einem trockenen Tuch.

2 Reinigen Sie die Bürstenaufsätze mit einem
feuchten Tuch oder spülen Sie sie unter
fließendem Wasser ab.
Nehmen Sie die Aufsätze vor dem Reinigen vom
Gerät.
Die Aufsätze müssen trocken sein, bevor Sie sie
aufsetzen oder zur Aufbewahrung fortlegen.
3 Wenn Sie Leitungswasser statt
Conditioner verwenden, bilden sich
Kalkablagerungen im Behälter. Sie sollten
dann den Behälter alle zwei Monate
entkalken. Nehmen Sie den Behälter ab,
geben Sie 3 - 4 Tropfen Haushaltsessig
hinein, füllen Sie den Behälter mit Wasser
auf und setzen Sie ihn zurück auf das
Gerät. Stecken Sie den Stecker in die
Steckdose und warten Sie mindestens 2
Minuten. Halen Sie das Gerät mit dem Stab
nach unten und aktivieren Sie die
Conditioner-Funktion für 3 Sekunden.
Aktivieren Sie die Conditioner-Funktion
wiederholt mit kurzen Pausen, bis der
Behälter leer ist. Ziehen Sie dann den
Stecker aus der Steckdose und spülen Sie
den Behälter mit frischem Wasser aus.
Aufbewahrung
Trennen Sie das Gerät immer vom Stromnetz
bevor Sie es wegräumen.

Introduction
Ce nouveau Philips Aqua Satin Pro Style a été
spécialement conçu pour vous permettre de
réaliser de merveilleuses coiffures d'une manière
rapide et facile. Les 2 accessoires interchangeables
- la brosse ronde et la brosse coiffante - vous
permettent de réaliser des boucles et des vagues
saines et brillantes.
Cet appareil est équipé d'un réservoir pour
démêlant conditionneur Pro Style, qui vous
permet de traiter vos cheveux pendant le
coiffage. Cette lotion a d'excellentes propriétés
traitantes : elle assouplit vos cheveux et les rend
plus brillants.
Important
Lisez les instructions du mode d'emploi avant
d'utiliser l'appareil et conservez-les pour un usage
ultérieur.
◗ Avant de brancher l'appareil,vérifiez que la
tension indiquée sur l'appareil correspond
bien à la tension de votre secteur.
◗ Vérifiez régulièrement le cordon
d'alimentation. N'utilisez pas l'appareil si la
fiche, le cordon ou l'appareil lui-même est
endommagé.
◗ Si le cordon d'alimentation est endommagé,
l'appareil doit être mis au rebut.
◗ Evitez tout contact de l'appareil avec de l'eau!
Ne l'utilisez pas près d'une baignoire, d'un

◗ En cas de surchauffe, l'appareil se mettra
automatiquement à l'arrêt. Débranchez alors

◗ Conservez l'appareil à l'écart des enfants.

démêlant conditionneur Pro Style HP4649,
spécialement conçu ou avec de l'eau de
robinet.
◗ Si par accident la lotion vient en contact avec
les yeux, rincez les yeux à l'eau claire pendant
15 minutes. Si l'irritation persiste, consultez
votre médecin.
◗ La barre métallique devient chaude pendant
l'utilisation. Evitez le contact avec la peau.
◗ Débranchez toujours l'appareil après
utilisation.
◗ Attendez que l'appareil refroidisse avant de le
ranger.

Remplissage du réservoir

1 Détachez le réservoir pour lotion de soin
démêlant.

2 Ouvrez le réservoir et remplissez-le avec
la lotion de soin démêlant.
◗ Le réservoir peut également être remplit avec
de l'eau du robinet.
◗ Avant de commencer la mise en forme,
vérifiez toujours si le réservoir est plein.
Evitez tout contact de l'appareil avec de l'eau.
3 Fermez le réservoir. Introduisez la partie
étroite du réservoir dans l'appareil et
ensuite poussez la partie plus large pour le
fixer.Vous entendrez un clic.
Avant de vous coiffer
Si vous voulez créer des boucles avec la brosse
ronde, nous vous conseillons de faire un test sur
une boucle pour déterminer combien de temps

vous devez tenir la brosse dans vos cheveux pour
obtenir de bons résultats.
◗ Commencez par 8 à 10 secondes. Il peut être
nécessaire de tenir la brosse dans vos
cheveux quelque temps de plus pour obtenir
des boucles plus serrées. Les boucles moins
serrées nécessitent moins de 8 secondes.
1 Branchez l'appareil.

2 Assurez-vous que le bouton est sur la
position m (chauffe).
3 Pendant que l'appareil chauffe, démêlez vos
cheveux à l'aide d'un peigne ou d'une
brosse. Divisez les cheveux en mèches à
l'aide d'un peigne. Ne faites pas des
mèches trop épaisses.

L'appareil est prêt à l'emploi après environ 2
minutes.
◗ Pour une performance optimale, n'activez pas
