Introduction

This new Philips Satin straight aqua has been specially designed to give beautiful results in a quick and easy way. Its steam function allows you to straighten your hair and to give it a healthy and shiny look.

Important

Check if the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds to the local mains voltage before you connect the appliance.

Keep this appliance away from water! Do not use this product near or over water contained in baths, washbasins, sinks etc. When used in a bathroom, unplug the appliance after use since the proximity of water presents a risk, even when the appliance is switched off.

For additional protection, we advise you to install a residual current device (RCD) with a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30mA in the electrical circuit supplying the bathroom.Ask your installer for advice.

Only use the appliance on dry or damp hair.

The plates of the appliance will become hot during use. Prevent contact with the skin.

If the appliance overheats, it will switch off automatically. Unplug the appliance and let it cool down for a few minutes.

Keep the appliance away from children.

Always unplug the appliance after use.

Let the appliance cool down before you store it.

Before styling

	C		Unscrew the Cool Tip water reservoir

			from the appliance and fill it with cold
			water under a gently running tap.
		Keep the appliance itself away from water!
C			Hold the appliance upside down and screw

			the water reservoir back onto the

appliance.

Styling

1 Insert the plug into the wall socket.

C There is a black dot on one of the plates. When the appliance has heated up, the black

dot will turn red to indicate that the appliance is ready for use.This will take approx.

10 minutes.

2While the appliance is heating up, comb or brush the hair so that it is disentangled and smooth. Use a comb to divide the hair into locks. Do not put too much hair in one lock.

	C 3	Take an approx. 2-inch (5 cm) wide lock of
		hair and place it between the plates of the
		appliance. Start straightening at the roots.
	C 4	Hold the lock between the plates for
		2 seconds, while activating the steam
		function by pushing the Cool Tip Water
		reservoir.
	One push will suffice to straighten one lock of
	hair.
	C 5	Move the straightener slowly and steadily
		towards the end of the lock.
	6	Let the locks cool down before finishing
		your style.

For optimal results, wait 20 seconds before you activate the steam function again.

Storage

1Unplug the appliance.

2Do not wind the mains cord round the appliance.

C 3 Unscrew the Cool Tip water reservoir and pour out the remaining water.

4 Put the appliance in a safe place and let it cool down.

C 5 The appliance can be stored by hanging it from its hanging loop.

Cleaning

1Make sure the appliance is unplugged.

2Clean the appliance with a damp cloth.

To prevent the build-up of scale, add

3-4 drops of vinegar to the Cool Tip water reservoir, top up with water and screw it back onto the appliance. Insert the plug into the wall socket and switch the appliance on.Wait 10 minutes and then activate the steam function for 2 seconds.Activate the steam function 10 more times, with 20-second intervals.Then unplug the appliance and rinse the Cool Tip water reservoir.

Replacement

If the mains cord of this appliance is damaged, it must always be replaced by a service centre authorised by Philips, as special tools and/or parts are required.

Always return the appliance to a service centre authorised by Philips for examination or repair. Repair by unqualified people could cause an extremely hazardous situation for the user.

Introduction

Ce nouveau Philips Satin straight aqua a été spécialement conçu pour vous permettre de réaliser de merveilleuses coiffures d'une manière rapide et facile. Sa fonction jet de vapeur vous permet de lisser vos cheveux et de leurs donner un aspect sain et brillant.

Important

Avant de brancher l'appareil, vérifiez que la tension indiquée sur l'appareil correspond bien à la tension de votre secteur.

Evitez tout contact de l'appareil avec de l'eau! Ne l'utilisez pas près d'une baignoire, d'un lavabo ou d'un évier. Si vous utiliser l'appareil dans la salle de bain, débranchez-le après usage car la proximité de l'eau peut présenter un risque pour l'utilisateur même si l'appareil est arrêté.

Pour plus de protection, il est conseillé de brancher l'appareil sur une prise de courant protégée par un disjoncteur différentiel de 30mA maxi si vous utiliser l'appareil dans la salle de bains. Demandez conseil à votre électricien.

Utilisez l'appareil seulement sur cheveux secs ou légèrement humides.

Les plaques de l'appareil deviennent chaudes pendant l'utilisation. Evitez le contact avec la peau.

En cas de surchauffe, l'appareil se mettra automatiquement à l'arrêt. Débranchez alors

l'appareil et attendez quelques minutes qu'il refroidisse.

Tenez l'appareil à l'écart des enfants.

Débranchez toujours l'appareil après utilisation.

Laissez l'appareil refroidir avant de le ranger.

Avant de se coiffer

				froide du robinet.
			Evitez tout contact de l'appareil avec de l'eau.
		C		Tenez l'appareil à l'envers et revissez le

				réservoir sur l'appareil.

Mise en forme

1 Branchez l'appareil.

C Il y a un témoin noir sur une des plaques. Lorsque l'appareil est chaud, le témoin noir

vire au rouge pour indiquer que l'appareil est prêt à être utilisé. Cela nécessite environ

10 minutes.

2Pendant que l'appareil chauffe, démêlez vos cheveux à l'aide d'un peigne ou d'une brosse. Divisez les cheveux en mèches à

	l'aide d'un peigne. Ne faites pas des
	mèches trop épaisses.
C 3	Prenez une mèche d'environ 5 cm et
	placez-la entre les plaques de l'appareil.
	Commencez à lisser vos cheveux par la
	racine.
C 4	Tenez la mèche entre les plaques pendant
	2 secondes et activez la fonction jet de
	vapeur en appuyant sur le réservoir d'eau
	Cool Tip.
Une pression est suffisante pour lisser une mèche.
C 5	Déplacez l'appareil légèrement et
	fermement vers l'extrémité de la mèche.
6	Laissez les mèches refroidir avant de
	finaliser la coiffure.

Pour un résultat optimal, attendez 20 secondes avant d'activer de nouveau la fonction jet de vapeur.

Rangement

1Débranchez l'appareil.

2N'enroulez pas le cordon secteur autour de l'appareil.

C 3 Dévissez le réservoir d'eau Cool Tip et videz-le.

		4	Posez l'appareil dans un endroit sûr et

			L'appareil peut être rangé en l'accrochant

Nettoyage

1Assurez-vous que l'appareil est débranché.

2L'appareil peut être nettoyé avec un chiffon humide.

Pour prévenir l'accumulation de calcaire, ajoutez 3-4 gouttes de vinaigre blanc dans le réservoir d'eau Cool Tip, remplissez-le avec de l'eau jusqu'au niveau maximum et branchez l'appareil.Attendez 7 minutes et ensuite activez la fonction vapeur pendant 2 secondes.Activez la fonction 10 fois, avec un intervale de 20 secondes, ensuite débranchez l'appareil et rincez le réservoir d'eau Cool Tip.

Remplacement

Si le cordon de l'appareil est endommagé, il ne doit être remplacé que par un Centre Service Agréé Philips car cette opération nécessite des pièces et/ou des outils spéciaux.
