Treble & Bass Control
Bass and Treble allows sound adjustment of high and low
frequencies to personal preferences. Balance allows the
sound adjustment of the left and right speaker.
Loudness and Pure Sound Control
Loudness is dynamic sound adjustment that amplifies
high and low frequencies depending on the volume (the
higher the volume, the less the amplification). Thereby it
creates 'richer' sound impression already at low volume.
Pure Sound Control allows you to switch off all sound
adjustments at the touch of a button.
3-Way Bass Reflex Speaker System

Automatic Digital Record Level Control
During recording from the internal CDC, the unit
automatically equalises volume levels between CDs, so
that there are no unpleasant volume jumps during
playback of the recorded CD.
Incredible Surround™
Dramatically expands the soundfield to envelop the
listener in their music. With the usual two-speaker setup,
Incredible Surround™ widens the soundstage farther to
the left and right while adding the greater depth of clubs,
concert halls and stadiums for a more exciting

CD-Text
No more need to look-up the track you want to play or
record in the CD inlay booklet, simply select the track by
name from the display, directly from the disc. The display
can show both artist and title for the entire album as
well as individual tracks. With the CDR Mini Hifi System,
you can also create your own CD Text information for
e.g. your own compilations.
3-Disc CD Changer with Motorized Drawer
Multi-disc play capability provides more than three hours
of continuous music.
CD-Rewritable Compatible
The player offers 100% playback guarantee of CDRewritable CD's over the entire lifetime of the player. Even
CD-RW audio recordings on computers can be used.
Microphone Mixing
Now you can be the STAR! Record your own vocals or
musical instrument. Better still record yourself singing or
playing along with your favorite artist.
Integrated digital tuner
Listen and record your favorite radio stations (record in
FM only).
Digital Clock with Record Timer
Use the built-in digital clock to record that special radio
show from the built-in tuner or any external source
while you are away.
42-Key Remote Control
The ergonomically styled remote control gives you
access to all essential functions, and has a 10-key pad
for entry of CD Text and direct access to track or
tuner presets.
CD Synchro CD Recording
Make a simple synchronised start recording from either
analog or digital sources.
Energy Saving Standby Mode (<2 watts)
Most systems consume 10-15 watts just on standby.
Philips systems consume less than 2 watts of energy on
standby for big saving to the listener.
Shuffle One/All Discs
Plays all selections on a particular disc or multiple discs in
multi-disc players in random order, ignoring the
sequential order in which they were originally recorded.
Design
Design Control
The attractive design focusses direct attention on the
main product function, the CD Recorder drawer. This
emphasis is supported by the logically designed
recording control panel. The large mirror coated display
lens reinforces the high technology aspect of the
product, while the controls are structured logically and
are easy to use. The light wood finishing on the speakers
complements the centre unit design well.
Oversized, MultiColor, Digital FTD Display
This large display is easy to read at any distance with no
distortion or distraction and the multi-color format
makes it easy to recognize different functions at a glance.
Detachable Cloth Speaker Grilles
Detachable cloth covered grilles protect delicate speaker
components with rich, high-tech styling.
Inputs and Outputs
1 x Digital Coax Input
A digital input is foreseen to connect digital sound
sources. The built-in sample rate converter ensures that a
wide range of sources can be connected (e.g. CD players,
DVD players, DAT players etc.).

A digital output connection is foreseen to enable digital
(CD) recordings from any of the digital inputs.
1 x Analog Input
A analog input is foreseen to connect analog sound
sources (e.g. phono, CD, Tape etc)

A analog output connection is foreseen to enable analog
recordings from any of the analog inputs.
1 x 3.5mm Microphone jack
A microphone input with level control is provided to
connect any standard microphone to record your own
voice or instrument.
1 x Headphone Jack
Plug in a set of stereo headphones and enjoy your
favorite CD, cassette, or radio station without disturbing
other family members in the room. This convenient
feature allows different people in your household to use
different electronic entertainment media without
interference.
