Digital Sound Control and Balance Control

Digital Sound Control allows you to select from pre-set modes that control the frequency bands of sound to optimize certain musical styles. Each mode uses graphic equalizing technology to automatically adjusts the sound balance to enhance the most important sound frequencies in your chosen music style from Rock, Classic, Vocal, Techno, Jazz and Optimal. Balance control allows the sound adjustment of the left and right speaker.

Loudness and Pure Sound Control

Loudness is dynamic sound adjustment that amplifies high and low frequencies depending on the volume (the higher the volume, the less the amplification). Thereby it creates 'richer' sound impression already at low volume.

Pure Sound Control allows you to switch off all sound adjustments at the touch of a button.

3-Way Bass Reflex Speaker System

Equipped with one 6 mid range reproduction, one 2 tweeter and one 1" Polydome tweeter for crisp high tones.

Automatic Digital Record Level Control

During recording from the internal CDC, the unit automatically equalises volume levels between CDs, so that there are no unpleasant volume jumps during playback of the recorded CD.

Incredible Surround™

Dramatically expands the soundfield to envelop the listener in their music. With the usual two-speaker setup, Incredible Surround™ widens the soundstage farther to the left and right while adding the greater depth of clubs, concert halls and stadiums for a more exciting experience.

CD-Text

No more need to look-up the track you want to play or record in the CD inlay booklet, simply select the track by name from the display, directly from the disc. The display can show both artist and title for the entire album as well as individual tracks. With the CDR Mini Hifi System, you can also create your own CD Text information for e.g. your own compilations.

Make a simple synchronised start recording from either analog or digital sources.

Energy Saving Standby Mode (<2 watts)

Most systems consume 10-15 watts just on standby. Philips systems consume less than 2 watts of energy on standby for big saving to the listener.

Shuffle One/All Discs

Plays all selections on a particular disc or multiple discs in multi-disc players in random order, ignoring the sequential order in which they were originally recorded.

Design

Design Concept

The attractive design focusses direct attention on the main product function, the CD Recorder drawer. This emphasis is supported by the logically designed recording control panel, with the two control areas around the jog and volume knobs.

Oversized, MultiColor, Digital FTD Display

This large display is easy to read at any distance with no distortion or distraction and the multi-color format makes it easy to recognize different functions at a glance.

Detachable Cloth Speaker Grilles

Detachable cloth covered grilles protect delicate speaker components with rich, high-tech styling.

Inputs and Outputs

1 x Digital Coax Input

A digital input is foreseen to connect digital sound sources. The built-in sample rate converter ensures that a wide range of sources can be connected (e.g. CD players, DVD players, DAT players etc.).

A digital output connection is foreseen to enable digital (CD) recordings from any of the digital inputs.

1 x Analog Input
