80 Watts L/R front, 50 Watts center, 25 Watts L/R rear RMS output power per channel, at 6 Ohms, from 80Hz16kHz, with no more than 10% Total Harmonic distortion (THD).

50 W powered subwoofer Subwoofers add dynamism to normal music and motion pictures. It sets the stage for a more intense sensation. The 50W Philips subwoofer features a down-firing 61/2" woofer to reflect sound waves off the floor, thereby adding impact. In all, the subwoofer is sufficiently power packed to generate that cinema essential sonic sound boom.

6-Speaker Dolby® Pro Logic Surround Sound System

Provides the current industry standard for home theater sound from VCR and laserdisc movies. The front left and right speakers deliver detailed, directional sound as the center channel speaker "steers" dialogue/vocal sound to where you see the mouth moving - at the TV screen. Both surround speakers add a greater sense of depth with special effects and time delay, making every living room a home theater with spaceships overhead, aliens behind the couch but no gum on the floor. The subwoofer enhances this home theater effect.

Multi-disc play capability provides more than three hours of continuous music.

Plays CD, CD-R and CD-RW discs

The player offers 100% playback guarantee of CD, CDRecordable and CD Rewritable CD's over the entire lifetime of the player. Even CD-RW audio recordings on computers can be used.

Auto Reverse

The feature employs an auto rewind mechanism to sense the end of the tape of the same side and automatically rewind and playback at the beginning of the tape providing an uninterrupted, continuous flow of music.

45-key Remote Control

This infrared remote control operates volume +/±, all CD functions (POWER, NEXT, PREVIOUS, PLAY, STOP, PAUSE, SHUFFLE, REPEAT, PROGRAM, CD123, CD DIRECT 1,2,3, F and G), TV/AV, AUX/CDR select, TUNER select, TAPE 1/2 select, CLOCK, AUTO REV. select, DIM and sound enhancement features including Personal setting select, Digital Sound Control (DSC), Virtual Environment Control (VEC), Bass & Trebles Control (BTC), TIMER ON/OFF, SLEEP, MUTE, DBB and the Dolby® Prologic mode select, Test Tone select, Balance L/R, Center +/- and Rear +/-.

Easy Set

Press Standby `ON' for 5 secs to automatically program 40 tuner presets. (FM only).

40-Track CD Random Program

Auto Record Level Control

Clock/Timer and Sleeptimer

Set the alarm por tion of a built-in digital clock to wake you to music from your favorite CD or an AM/FM radio station at any desired time of the day. Sleeptimer settings of 60, 45, 30 or 15 minutes.

3 Dim Display modes (including nite mode)

2 different display options showing different amounts of display activity can be selected and 1 nite mode display which shows minimal display activity and turns most of the lights off.

Eco Power Standby Mode (<2 watts) Most systems consume 10-15 watts just on standby . Philips systems consumes less than 2 watts of energy on standby for big savings to the listener.
