Connect
Remove the Antenna or Cable TV signal from your TV.

Connect it to the ANT-IN jack at the rear of the

Recorder.
Connect the supplied RF coaxial cable to the ANT-OUT
3
jack on the Recorder and to your TV’s ANTENNA IN
or RF INPUT jack.
Connect the Recorder’s power cord to a power outlet.

Helpful Hint:
If your TV has different connectors, refer to the TV manual
for connection options. Also refer to the Recorder’s owner’s
manual, which details other TV connection possibilities.

Complete Initial Setup
Turn on this unit for the first time, you need to follow these steps.
Press [ ].

Turn the TV on. Select the input to

which the unit is connected.
Refer to the table on page 15 in the
User Manual.
“Initial Setup” will automatically appear.

“Channel Preset” will automatically

The unit will start getting channels
available in your area.

After channel setting is finished, “Clock
Setting” will appear. Then press [OK].

• If a Public Broadcasting Station (PBS) is available in your

The disc tray will open.
Insert your disc with its label facing up. Align the disc to the

disc tray guide.
Press [OPEN/CLOSE A] to close the disc tray.

• When inserting a brand-new DVD+RW/DVD-RW disc, the
unit automatically starts to format.
• If titles have been recorded on the disc, the title list is
displayed. Press [STOP C] to exit the title list.
This operation may take a while to be recognized.
Using [REC MODE], select a recording mode.

Using [K / L], select “Yes”. Press [OK].

Finalizing will start.

Insert a prerecorded videotape. Press [PLAY B] to begin

playback.
During playback, press [PAUSE F].

Playback will pause and sound will be muted.
Press [PLAY B] to resume play.

Press [STOP C] to stop playback.

the videotape.
