Inserting your common interface
4 Inserting your common interface
Insert the smart card with the chip facing up.
- To be able to receive scrambled digital channels specific to an operator, you need a common interface module and a smart card from that operator.
- To avoid incorrect insertion of the common interface module in the slot, make sure you insert the smart card in the common interface module and insert properly the module in the corresponding slot (either the first or second slot).
- Insert the smart card into the common interface module as far as it will go.The end of the card will be visible outside the module.
- Push the common interface module into the slot as far at it will go without forcing.
- New and updated information may be downloaded onto the smart card from time to time.
If your receiver is equipped with a Common Interface module, the technical data relating to the modules inserted, as well as to any smart cards inserted in these, can be accessed via a “Main Menu/Common Interface”.You can see information as to which of the two CI slots is currently fitted with a module. Select the module in respect of which you require additional information. A display is generated by the CI module itself, and may therefore differ slightly in appearance from one module to the other. To obtain a full display of the data, a smart card must be inserted in the module. Please consult your installer or card provider for the details of the use of your specific card.
