Hi-Fi Stereo Sound with Built-In MTS/SAP Decoder (TV section only)

The stereo sound system built into the TV section of this combination TV/VCR incorporates an MTS/SAP decoder which permits reception and reproduction of broadcast stereo television programs, as well as Second Audio Program transmissions (where available).

VCR Plus+™ Programming

Simplifies programming of the VCR section by allowing you to simply enter PlusCode

programming numbers found in many published television listings. When recording begins, your Combi automatically selects the proper TV channel and program length. Back-up memory logic retains the cable channel guide map indefinitely even during a power failure or when the Combi is disconnected from its power source.

SmartClock™

Once activated, this menu-driven feature will automatically maintain the correct time, regularly checking and updating if necessary. This function will also reset the clock after a power failure.The menu-driven time zone feature allows selection of appropriate time for those who live in a time zone other than that of their CATV service provider.

SmartSound™

When activated, SmartSound™ keeps volume levels constant between programs and commercials, and from one channel to another. SmartSound™ constantly monitors the audio signal, reducing a signal that’s too loud and increasing a signal that’s too weak.

Closed Caption

Activated through a special onscreen menu, the Closed Caption feature allows the hearing impaired to read dialogue and narratives (on Closed Caption telecasts) without the use of an optional, external decoding device. Program dialogue and narrative material is printed at the bottom of the screen. Excellent for development of language skills and private viewing without disturbing others.

Automatic Channel Setup

Activating this feature allows the VCR tuner to scan through television frequencies, automatically storing active broadcast channels into memory. Then, only active channels programmed into memory are tuned using the CHANNEL ▲▼ buttons on either the remote or front panel of the VCR. Automatic channel preset can be repeated whenever desired, should new channels become available. Channels can be manually added or deleted.

181-Channel FS Tuning

The digital quartz tuner is capable of receiving up to 181 channels, including UHF, VHF, and 113 cable channels, without the inconvenience and expense of a cable company decoder/converter (on non-scrambled cable systems). Channel tuning is by random access with the remote control transmitter or scan tuning up and down by remote or at the set.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) Onscreen Function Display

Indicates record/playback functions, channel number, clock setting, date, counter, programming, one-touch record and record standby, keeping the user alerted to the status of all features in a heads-up, onscreen display.

15x Forward/Reverse Latching Search

Search in Forward or Reverse mode at 15 times normal playing speed in SLP, and 5 times normal in SP. The Latching Search feature provides continuous forward or reverse search with a single touch of the control. A second touch stops the search operation and returns the unit to the Play mode.

Index Search

Automatically searches for the index mark placed on a videotape and takes you directly to that precise point instantly.

Remote Locator™

Lost or misplaced remotes are easy to find! Simply press the POWER button on the set. The words “Locating Remote” appear on the screen, and the remote control beeps–leading you right to it.
