15X FORWARD/REVERSE LATCHING SEARCH
Search in Forward or Reverse mode at 15 times normal
playing speed in SLP, and 5 times normal in SP. The
Latching Search feature provides continuous forward or
reverse search with a single touch of the control. A
second touch stops the search operation and returns
the unit to the Play mode.

CLOSED CAPTION Activated through a special
on-screen menu, the closed caption feature allows
the hearing impaired to read dialogue and narratives
(on Closed Caption telecasts) without the use of an
optional, external decoding device. Program dialogue
and narrative material is printed at the bottom of the
screen. Excellent for development of language skills
and private viewing without disturbing others as well.
AUTOMATIC CHANNEL SETUP Activating this
feature allows the VCR tuner to scan through
television frequencies, automatically storing active
broadcast channels into memory.Then, only active
channels programmed into memory are tuned, using
the channel up/down buttons on either the remote
or front panel of the VCR. Automatic channel preset
can be repeated whenever desired, should new
channels become available. Channels can be manually
added or deleted.
FRONT PANEL AUDIO/VIDEO INPUTS Enjoy the
added convenience of recording tapes directly from a
camcorder to the VCR portion with a full color
monitor built in. And as a bonus, accessory video
equipment such as a video game, DVD player, or
web browser can be connected for direct
playthrough to the TV section.
181-CHANNEL FS TUNING The digital quartz
tuner is capable of receiving up to 181 channels,
including UHF, VHF, and 113 cable channels, without
the inconvenience and expense of a cable company
decoder/converter (on non-scrambled cable systems).
Channel tuning is by random access with the remote
control transmitter or scan tuning up and down by
remote or at the set.
BILINGUAL (ENGLISH/SPANISH) ON-SCREEN
FUNCTION DISPLAY
Indicates record/playback
functions, channel number, clock setting, date,
counter, programming, one-touch record, and record
standby, keeping the user alerted to the status of all
features in a heads up, on-screen display.
ON-SCREEN, REAL-TIME COUNTER Unlike the
0000 to 9999 tape counters found in standard
Combis, this unit incorporates a linear, real-time
counter which shows elapsed recording and/or
playback time in hours, minutes, and seconds.
TIMER/PROGRAMMER BACKUP MEMORY
Retains timer/programming information indefinitely in
the event of power failure.
SLEEP TIMER This set will automatically shut off at
a preset time of up to 120 minutes from the time the
feature is activated. Sleep timer settings are
programmed in 15-minute increments.
EARPHONE JACK Plug in a personal earphone
and enjoy your favorite movie, music video, video
game, or surf the net without disturbing other
family members in the room. This unique feature
allows people in your household to use different
electronic entertainment media while in the same
room. The jack is compatible with all standard 3.5
mm phono plugs.
A-B REPEAT PLAY Now you can play a single
segment of any videotape over and over again with
A-B Repeat. Using the on-screen menu, simply
program the start and stop positions of whatever
segment you want to repeat, regardless of length (as
long as it is no less than three minutes). Great for selfhelp videos, training tapes, and instructional material.
REPEAT PLAY When the Combi recognizes no
recorded signal or reaches the end of a tape with
the Repeat Play control activated, it will
automatically rewind to the beginning and enter
the Play mode again. Repeat Play can be
discontinued by touching the button a second time
or by changing operation mode.
QUICK START MECHANISM Quickly and
effortlessly switches the tape mechanism from Stop to
Play in only one second, instead of the approximately
5 1/4 seconds of older models.
REWIND/OFF Turn off power to the Combi during
rewind rather than waiting until rewind is completed.
When power is turned off during rewind, the unit
continues the rewind operation to the end of the
tape, then automatically shuts the unit off. And, if
the timer has been set for unattended recording, the
unit will place itself in the timer mode after
rewinding the tape.
ONE-TOUCH RECORD Record up to eight
hours or to the end of the tape with the
touch of a single button. Each touch of the
OTR button adds 30 minutes of additional
recording time.
8 -EVENT/1 YEAR SMART PROGRAMMING
Program your VCR for unattended recording of up
to eight separate programs over a full 365-day
period. No manual setting, adjusting, or
programming of the calendar function is required.

On-screen menus lead you through normal,
daily, or weekly programming by program
number, channel to be recorded, start and stop
times, speed, and date of recording by day,
month, and year. Pushing the CLEAR button
allows you to go back and reprogram over
mistakes, and pushing the MENU button at the
end of programming verifies that instructions
are locked into memory.
DIGITAL AUTO TRACKING SYSTEM When
tape playback begins, this feature automatically
seeks the optimum tracking position in the
tracking range, and the optimum audio signal
tracking position for clearest picture and sound
from videotapes. Controls are provided on the
remote transmitter to give you manual control
should tracking adjustments be necessary.
