To play the digital video images of a BD-video or DVD­video via an HDMI connection, it is necessa ry that both this product and t he display dev ice (or an AV receiver/ amplifier) suppor t a copyright prote ction sys tem called HDCP ( high -ban dwid th dig ital content prot ection system).

Prepare the remote control
1 Press and push the battery compartment to
slide it open (see “1” in the illustration).
2 Insert two AAA batteries with cor rect
polarity (+/-) as indicated.
3 Push and slide back the battery compar tment
(see “3” in the illustration).
Note
If you ar e not goi ng to use t he remote control for a long time , remove the batteries .
Do not mix batteri es (old and new or ca rbon and alkaline, etc.).
Batteries contain chemical substances, so they should be disposed of properly.

Set up a network
You can connect this product to the Internet (for software update/BD Live/Net TV service), or to a home network (to access media files from a DLNA media server, e.g. PC).
To access media files from your computer, you need to ensure:
a media server software (e.g. Windows Media • Player 11) is installed on your computer; and the media server software is configured • to enable media sharing (See the “Help” documentation from the media server software).

Use Philips EasyLink
This product supports Philips EasyLink which uses the HDMI CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) protocol. You can use one single remote control to control EasyLink-compliant devices that are connected through HDMI connectors.
Note
To enable the Eas yLink feature, you must turn on the HDMI CEC ope rat ions on the TV and on ot her devices connected to TV. Refe r to the T Vs/devices ma nual fo r details.
One-touch play

Press (standby) to turn on this product.
The TV (if the TV supports one-touch play) » automatically turns on and switches to the correct video-in channel.
If a disc is loaded in this product, disc play » automatically starts.

If you pause or stop a disc, the screen saver appears after 10 minutes of inacti vit y. To deactivate t he scr een saver, press any button .
After you pause or stop a disc and no button is pressed with in 30 mi nutes, thi s product automatica lly sw itches to standby.

Play BD-video
A Blu-ray video disc has a larger capacity and supports features such as high-definition videos, multi-channel surround sounds, interactive menus and so on.
1 Insert a BD-video disc. 2 Press , select [play Disc] and press OK. 3 Play automatically starts, or select a play
option in the menu and press OK.
During play, you can press TOP MENU to display additional information, features or content stored in the disc. During play, you can press POP-UP MENU to display the disc menu without interrupting disc play.
Enjoy Blu-ray 3D video
This player can play Blu-ray 3D videos.
1 Ensure that the TV is 3D and HDMI compliant,
and connect the TV to this player through an HDMI cable.
2 Turn on Blu-ray 3D output (see “Adjust
settings” > [Video] > [Blu-ray 3D video]).
3 Wear 3D glasses that are compatible with the
TV for viewing.

Special video data may be played while they are being downloaded. When the disc suppor ting BD-Live is played, this product or disc’s ID can be sent to the content provider via the internet. Services and functions to be provided vary from disc to disc.
Play DivX® video
DivX video is a digital media format that retains high quality despite a high rate of compression.
1 Insert a disc or USB device that contains the
DivX videos.

This product can only display digital camera pictu res according to the JPEG-EXI F format, t ypically used by most digit al cam era s. It cannot displ ay Motion JPE G, or pic tures in for mats other t han JPEG, o r sound clips associated with pictures.
Folders/files that exceed the supported limit of this product cannot be displayed or played.
