as well as the small 8 cm disc ’CD-single'. An adapter

switches off automatically. After inserting fresh
batteries or connecting an external 9 V DC supply,
move the ON/OFF switch to OFF and back again to
ON.
- If the display shows the character ’E’ for ERROR,
the CD-player cannot read the disc. Possible causes
are:
- you inserted the disc the wrong way (the label
should face up);
- the surface of the disc is badly scratched or
dirty, see 'Maintenance';
- the lens 0 (fig. 5) is steamed up because of a
sudden transition from a cold into a warm
environment; do not clean the lens, but let the
set acclimatize for a while.

HOLD - INTROSCAN - REPEAT
HOLDSEARCH KKJ - tW
During PLAY I> you can set the ON/OFF selector to
position HOLD, The buttons are then made inoperati

selector to position ON again.

from the STOP □ and the PLAY t> position.
• Press INTROSCAN. The word SCAN then ap

shows the corresponding track number.
• The moment that you press PLAY t>. the INTRO
SCAN function is defeated (the word SCAN disap
pears) and the disc is played in the normal way from
this track number.
• If you press W or I<!<1, the INTROSCAN function
remains operative and the beginning of the next WH
or previous I<3<3 track is played for a few seconds.
• If the INTROSCAN function is not defeated by
