Important notes for users in the U.K.

Mains plug

This apparatus is fitted with an approved moulded
13 Amp plug. To change a fuse in this type of plug
proceed as follows:

• Remove fuse cover and fuse.

• Fix new fuse which should be a BS1362 5 Amp,
A.S.T.A. or BSI approved type.

• Refit the fuse cover.

If the fitted plug is not suitable for your socket
outlets, it should be cut off and an appropriate plug
fitted in its place.
If the mains plug contains a fuse, this should have a
value of 5 Amp. If a plug without a fuse is used, the
fuse at the distribution board should not be greater
than 5 Amp.
Note: The severed plug must be disposed to avoid a
possible shock hazard should it be inserted into a
13 Amp socket elsewhere.

How to connect a plug

The wires in the mains lead are coloured with the
following code: blue = neutral (N), brown = live (L).
As these colours may not correspond with the colour
markings identifying the terminals in your plug,
proceed as follows:

• Connect the blue wire to the terminal marked N or
coloured black.

• Connect the brown wire to the terminal marked L
or coloured red.

• Do not connect either wire to the earth terminal in
the plug, marked E (or e) or coloured green (or
green and yellow).

Before replacing the plug cover, make certain that the
cord grip is clamped over the sheath of the lead - not

CAUTION

Use of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other than herein

Environmental information

All unnecessary packaging material has been omitted. We have done our utmost to make the
packaging easy to separate into three mono-materials: cardboard (box), expandable polystyrene
(buffer), polyethylene (bags, protective foam).

Your set consists of materials which can be recycled if disassembled by a specialized
company. Please observe the local regulations regarding the disposal of packing
materials, exhausted batteries and old equipment.

Whenever convenient, use the mains supply if you want to
conserve battery life. Make sure you remove the plug from the
set and wall socket before inserting batteries.

BATTERIES (OPTIONAL)

1. Open the battery compartment and insert six batteries, type

R-14, UM-2 or C-cells, (preferably alkaline) with the correct
polarity as indicated by the "
compartment.

2. Replace the compartment door, making sure the batteries are
firmly and correctly in place. The set is now ready to operate.

– If BATT LOWlights up, battery power is running low.

– The BATT LOW indicator eventually goes out if the

batteries are too weak.

Incorrect use of batteries can cause electrolyte leakage and will
corrode the compartment or cause the batteries to burst.
Therefore:

• Do not mix battery types: e.g. alkaline with carbon zinc.
Only use batteries of the same type for the set.

• When inserting new batteries, do not try to mix old batteries
with the new ones.

• Remove the batteries if the set is not to be used for a long
time.

• Batteries contain chemical substances, so they should

be disposed of properly.

Using AC MAINS

1. Check if the mains voltage as shown on the type plate on
the base of the set, corresponds to your local mains supply.

If it does not, consult your dealer or service centre.

2. If your set is equipped with a voltage selector, adjust the
selector so that it matches with the local mains supply.

3. Connect the mains lead to the wall socket and the set is now
ready for use.

4. To disconnect the set from the mains supply completely,
remove the plug from the wall socket.

Switching on and off

• Adjust the POWER slider to the desired sound source: CD,

TUNER or TAPE/

OFF.

• The set is switched off when the POWER slider is in the

TAPE/

OFF position and the keys on the tape deck are released.

™ The volume and tuner presets will be retained in the set's

memory.

Adjusting volume and sound

1. Turn the VOL control to increase or decrease VOLUME.

2. Adjust the DBB control to select dynamic bass boost on or off.

PHILIPS demo mode

1. On the set, press the CD STOP 9 button for 5 seconds.
™ PH..IL ..IPS scrolls across the display continuously.

2. To return to the current display you can either:

• press any function button on the front panel. This interrupts
the demo mode for 30 seconds;

• press the CD STOP 9 button for 5 seconds. PH..IL ..IPS
scrolls once before the demo mode is cancelled.

GENERAL INFORMATION

General maintenance

• Do not expose the set, batteries, CDs or cassettes to humidity,
rain, sand or excessive heat caused by heating equipment or
direct sunlight.

• To clean the set, use a soft, slightly dampened chamois
leather. Do not use any cleaning agents containing alcohol,
ammonia, benzene or abrasives as these may harm the
housing.

Safety information

• Place the set on a hard and flat surface so that the system
does not tilt. Make sure there is adequate ventilation to
prevent the system from overheating.

• The mechanical parts of the set contain self-lubricating
bearings and must not be oiled or lubricated.

TUNING TO RADIO STATIONS

P

1. Select TUNER source.

™ is displayed briefly and then the radio station

frequency is shown.

2. Press BAND once or more to select your waveband.

3. Press SEARCH ∞ or § and release when the frequency in

the display starts running.

™ The tuner automatically tunes to a station of sufficient

reception. Display shows during automatic tuning.

™ If a FM station is received in stereo,

STEREO is shown.

4. Repeat step 3 if necessary until you find the desired station.

• To tune to a weak station, press SEARCH ∞ or § briefly and
repeatedly until you have found optimal reception.

5. Adjust the power slider to TAPE/OFF position to switch off the
set.

To improve radio reception

– For FM, pull out the telescopic aerial. Incline and turn the

aerial. Reduce its length if the signal is too strong (very close
to a transmitter).

– For MW/LW, the set is provided with a built-in aerial so the

telescopic aerial is not needed. Direct the aerial by turning the
whole set.

Favourite station selection

For your favourite 3 tuner stations, you can use the easy one-touch
programming and selection 1, 2 or 3 buttons.

1. Tune to your desired station (see Tuning to radio stations).

2. To store your station, press 1, 2 or 3 for 2 seconds or more.

™ Display: shows

PROGRAM briefly, your favorite preset station

number and the tuner frequency.

Programming radio stations

You can store up to a total of 30 radio stations in the memory.

1. Tune to your desired station (see Tuning to radio stations).

2. Press PROGRAM to activate programming.

– Display:

PROGRAM flashes.

3. Press PRESET 4 or 3 once or more to allocate a number from
1 to 30 to this station.

4. Press PROGRAM again to confirm the setting.

– Display:

PROGRAM disappears, the preset number and the

frequency of the preset station are shown.

5. Repeat the above four steps to store other stations.

– You can overwrite a preset station by storing another frequency

in its place.

Tuning to preset stations

Press 1, 2, 3 or PRESET 4 or 3 until the desired preset station is
displayed.

Playing a CD

1. Select CD source.

™ is displayed briefly.

2. Lift the CD door open.

™ Display: when you open the CD door.

3. Insert a CD or CD-R(W) with the printed side facing up and
close the CD door.

™ Display: d1SC flashes as the CD player scans the contents of

a CD. The total number of tracks and playing time are then
shown.
Display: is shown if the CD-R(W) is blank or not
finalised.

4. Press PLAY•PAUSE 2; to start playback.

™ Display: Current track number and elapsed playing time of the

track during CD playback.

5. To pause playback press PLAY•PAUSE 2;.
Press PLAY•PAUSE 2; again to resume play.

™ The display freezes and the elapsed playing time flashes when

playback is paused.

6. To stop CD playback, press STOP9.

Note: CD play will also stop when:

– the CD door is opened;
– the CD has reached the end

(unless you have selected REPEAT or REPEAT ALL);

– you select another source: TAPE / TUNER.

Selecting a different track

• Press SEARCH ∞ or § once or repeatedly until the desired
track number appears in the display.

• If you have selected a track number shortly after loading a CD
or in the PAUSE position, you will need to press

PLAY•PAUSE 2; to start playback.

Finding a passage within a track

1. Press and hold down on SEARCH ∞ or §.

™ The CD is played at high speed and low volume.

2. When you recognize the passage you want,
release SEARCH ∞ or §.

– Normal playback continues.

Note: During a CD programme or if SHUFFLE/ REPEAT active,

searching is only possible within a track.

You can select and change the various play modes before or during
playback. The play modes can also be combined with PROGRAM.
SHUFFLE - tracks of the entire CD/ programme are played in

random order

SHUFFLE and REPEAT ALL- to repeat the entire CD/ programme

continuously in random order

REPEAT ALL- to repeat the entire CD/ programme
REPEAT- to play the current track continuously

1. To select your play mode, press the CD MODE key before or
during playback until the display shows the desired function.

2. Press PLAY•PAUSE 2; to start playback if in the STOP
position.

3. To return to normal playback, press the CD MODE key until
the various SHUFFLE / REPEAT modes are no longer displayed.

– You can also press STOP 9 to cancel your play mode.

Programming track numbers

Programme in the STOP position to select and store your CD tracks
in the desired sequence. If you like, store any track more than
once. Up to 20 tracks can be stored in the memory.

1. Use the SEARCH ∞ or § on the set, to select your desired
track number.

2. Press PROGRAM.

™ Display:

PROGRAM and the selected track number.

appears briefly.

™ If you attempt to programme without first selecting a track

number, is shown.

3. Repeat steps 1-2 to select and store all desired tracks.

™ is displayed if you attempt to programme more than

20 tracks.

4. To start playback of your CD programme, press

PLAY•PAUSE 2;.

Reviewing the programme

In the STOP position, press and hold down PROGRAM for a while
until the display shows all your stored track numbers in sequence.

Erasing a programme

You can erase the programme by:
– pressing STOP 9 once in the STOP position or twice during

playback. The display shows ' ' briefly.
– pressing the CD door open;
– switching to TUNER/TAPE source.

CD player and CD handling

• If the CD player cannot read CDs correctly, use a commonly

available cleaning CD to clean the lens before taking the set to

repair. Other cleaning methods may destroy the lens.

• The lens of the CD player should never be touched!

• Sudden changes in the surrounding temperature can cause

condensation to cloud over on the lens of your CD player.

Playing a CD is then not possible. Do not attempt to clean the

lens but leave the set in a warm environment until the

moisture evaporates.

• Always keep the CD compartment closed to avoid dust on

the lens.

• To take a CD out of its box, press the centre spindle while

lifting the CD. Always pick up the CD by the edge and return

the CD to its box after use to avoid scratching and dust.

• To clean the CD, wipe in a straight line from the centre

towards the edge using a soft, lint-free cloth. Do not use

cleaning agents as they may damage the disc.

• Never write on a CD or attach any stickers to it.

PLAYING A CASSETTE

1. Select TAPE source.

™ The display shows tAPE throughout tape operation.

2. Press STOP•OPEN 9/ to open the cassette door.

3. Insert a recorded cassette and close the cassette door.

4. Press PLAY 1 to start playback.

5. To interrupt playback, press PAUSE ;. To resume, press the

key again.

6. By pressing SEARCH 5 or 6 on the set,fast winding of the

tape is possible in both directions.

7. To stop the tape, press STOP•OPEN 9/.

– The keys are automatically released at the end of the tape

and the tAPE indication goes out, except if PAUSE; has
been activated.

GENERAL INFORMATION ON RECORDING

• Recording is permissible insofar as copyright or other rights of
third parties are not infringed.

• This deck is not suitable for recording on CHROME (IEC II) or
METAL (IEC IV) type cassettes. For recording, use NORMAL
type cassettes (IEC I) on which the tabs have not been broken.

• The best recording level is set automatically. Altering the VOL
and DBB controls will not affect the recording in progress.

• At the very beginning and end of the tape, no recording will
take place during the 7 seconds, when the leader tape passes
the recorder heads.

• To protect a tape from accidental erasure, have the tape in
front of you and break out the left tab.
Recording on this side is no longer possible. To record over this
side again, cover the tabs with a piece of adhesive tape.

SYNCHRO START CD RECORDING

1. Select CD source.

2. Insert a CD and if desired, programme track numbers.

3. Press STOP•OPEN 9/ to open the cassette door.

4. Insert a suitable cassette into the cassette deck and close the

cassette door.

5. Press RECORD 0 to start recording.

– Playing of the CD programme starts automatically from the

beginning of the programme. It is not necessary to start the CD

player separately.

Recording from the radio

1. Tune to the desired radio station (See TUNING TO RADIO
STATIONS).

2. Press STOP•OPEN 9/ to open the cassette door.

3. Insert a suitable cassette into the cassette deck and close the

cassette door.

4. Press RECORD 0 to start recording.

• If you are recording from MW/LW stations, adjust the
BEAT CUTswitch to eliminate possible whistle tones during
recording.

5. For brief interruptions, press PAUSE ;. To resume recording,
press PAUSE ; again.

6. To stop recording, press STOP•OPEN 9/.

MAINTENANCE

Tape deck maintenance

To ensure quality recording and playback of the tape deck, clean
parts A,B and C shown in the diagram below, after approx.
50 hours of operation, or on average once a month. Use a cotton
bud slightly moistened with alcohol or a special head cleaning
fluid to clean the deck.

1. Open the cassette door by pressing STOP•OPEN 9/.

2. Press PLAY 1 and clean the rubber pressure rollers C.

3. Press PAUSE ; and clean the magnetic heads A and also the

capstan B .

4. After cleaning, press STOP•OPEN 9/.

Note: Cleaning of the heads can also be done by playing a

cleaning cassette through once.

If you are unable to remedy a problem by following these hints, consult your dealer or service centre.

Informations sur l’environnement

PILES (EN OPTION)

ALIMENTATION

1. Ouvrez le compartiment et introduisez six piles, type

R-14, UM-2 ou cellules C, (de préférence Alcaline) en
veillant à ce que les piles soient correctement introduites au
niveau de la polarité, comme indiqué par les symboles "+" et
"-" à l'intérieur du compartiment.

2. Refermez le compartiment de piles, après s'être assuré que
les piles soient fermement et correctement en place.
L'équipement est prêt à l'emploi.

– Si BATT LOWs'allume, la capacité des piles est faible.

– Le témoin BATT LOWs'éteint si les piles sont trop faibles.

L'usage incorrect des piles peut causer des fuites électrolytiques
endommageant le compartiment par corrosion, voire faire éclater
les piles. A cet effet:

• Ne pas utiliser différents types de piles: par ex. Alcaline avec
zinc de carbone. Utilisez uniquement des piles du même type
pour le même équipement.

• Lorsque vous introduisez de nouvelles piles, ne mettez pas
des anciennes piles avec des nouvelles.

• Enlevez les piles si l'équipement n'est pas utilisé pendant
une période prolongée.

• Les piles contiennent des substances chimiques, en

d'autres termes, il faut s'en débarrasser selon les
règles en vigueur.

Utilisation de l'alimentation en courant alternatif

1. Contrôlez si la tension secteur indiquée sur la plaquette
de type à la base de l'équipement correspond à votre

alimentation locale. Si ce n'est pas le cas, consultez votre
concessionnaire ou un centre de service après-vente.

2. Si votre équipement est pourvu d'un sélecteur de tension,
réglez-le en conformité avec le secteur local.

3. Branchez le cordon secteur à la prise murale et l'équipement
est prêt à l'emploi.

4. Pour débrancher l'équipement, débranchez la fiche de la prise
murale.

INFORMATIONS GENERALES

Entretien général

• N’exposez jamais l’équipement, les piles, les CD ou les
cassettes à l’humidité, à la pluie, au sable ni à une chaleur
excessive due à la production de chaleur propre à l’équipement
ou à l’exposition directe aux rayons du soleil.

• Vous pouvez nettoyer l’équipement avec une peau de chamois
douce, légèrement humide. Ne jamais utiliser de détergents
contenant de l’alcool, de l’ammoniaque, du benzène ou des
abrasifs, car ceux-ci peuvent endommager le boîtier.

Informations sur la sécurité

• Disposez l’équipement sur une surface dure et plane, de sorte
que l’équipement ne soit pas en position inclinée. Assurez­vous qu’il y ait une ventilation suffisante pour éviter la
surchauffe de l’équipement.

• Les pièces mécaniques de l’équipement contiennent des
paliers autolubrifiants et ne requièrent donc aucun huilage ni
lubrification.

2. Appuyez une ou plusieurs fois sur BAND pour sélectionner
votre longueur d'onde.

3. Appuyez sur SEARCH ∞ ou § et relâchez lorsque la
fréquence commence à défiler dans l'afficheur.

™ Le syntoniseur se règle automatiquement sur une station à

réception suffisante. L'afficheur indique pendant la
syntonisation automatique.

™ Si une station FM est en stéréo,

STEREO est affiché.

4. Répétez l'opération 3 si nécessaire jusqu'à trouver la station
désirée.

• Pour syntoniser une station faible, appuyez brièvement et par
à-coups sur SEARCH ∞ ou § jusqu'à obtenir la réception
optimale.

5. Réglez le bouton coulissant power sur TAPE/

OFF pour mettre

l’équipement hors service.

Pour améliorer la réception radio

– Pour FM, sortez l'antenne télescopique. Inclinez et tournez

l'antenne. Réduisez sa longueur si le signal est trop fort (à
proximité d'un émetteur).

– Pour MW/LW, l'équipement est pourvu d'une antenne intégrée,

donc l'antenne télescopique est inutile. Pour diriger cette
antenne, il faut agir sur l'équipement dans sa totalité.

Sélection de vos stations favorites

Pour sélectionner vos trois stations radio favorites, vous pouvez
utiliser les boutons de programmation et de sélection à commande
unique aisée 1, 2 ou 3.

1. Syntonisez sur la station radio de votre choix
(voir Syntonisation des stations radio).

2. Pour mémoriser la station en question, appuyez sur 1, 2 ou 3
pendant 2 secondes ou plus.

™ Afficheur: affiche brièvement

PROGRAM, le numéro de la station

favorite présélectionnée et la fréquence de syntonisation.

Programmation des stations radio

Vous pouvez mémoriser jusqu'à 30 stations radio au total.

1. Syntonisez la station désirée (Voir Syntonisation des
stations radio).

2. Appuyez sur PROGRAM pour activer la programmation.

– Afficheur:

PROGRAM clignote.

3. Appuyez une ou plusieurs fois sur PRESET 4 ou 3 pour
attribuer un numéro de 1 à 30 à cette station.

4. Appuyez à nouveau sur PROGRAM pour confirmer le réglage.

– Afficheur:

PROGRAM disparaît, le numéro préréglé et la

fréquence de la station préréglée apparaissent.

5. Répétez les quatre opérations précédentes pour mémoriser
d'autres stations.

– Vous pouvez "écraser" une station préréglée en mémorisant

une autre fréquence à sa place.

Syntonisation des stations préréglées

Appuyez sur 1, 2, 3 ou PRESET 4 ou 3 jusqu'à ce que la station
préréglée désirée soit affichée.

Lecture d’un CD

1. Sélectionnez la source CD.

™ est affiché brièvement.

2. Pour ouvrir le clapet de CD, soulevez-le.

™ Affichage: dès que vous ouvrez le clapet du compartiment CD.

3. Introduisez un CD ou un CD-R(W) avec la face imprimée
orientée vers le haut et close the CD door.

™ Affichage: d1SC lorsque le lecteur de CD passe en revue le

contenu d’un CD. Le nombre total de plages et la durée de
lecture sont ensuite affichés.
Affichage: est affiché si le CD R(W) est vierge ou pas

bien fini.

4. Appuyez sur PLAY•PAUSE 2; pour démarrer la lecture.

™ Affichage: Numéro de plage en cours et durée écoulée de la

lecture CD.

5. Pour faire une pause, appuyez sur PLAY•PAUSE 2;.
Appuyez une nouvelle fois sur PLAY•PAUSE 2; pour
reprendre la lecture.

™ L’affichage se gèle et le temps de lecture écoulé clignote au

moment de la pause.

6. Pour arrêter la lecture CD, appuyez sur STOP 9.

Remarque: La lecture CD s’arrête aussi lorsque:

– le clapet du compartiment CD est ouvert;
– le CD est arrivé au bout (à moins d’avoir sélectionné

REPEAT ou REPEAT ALL);

– vous sélectionnez une autre source: TAPE / TUNER.

Sélection d’une autre plage

• Appuyez une fois ou de façon répétitive sur SEARCH ∞ ou §
jusqu’à ce que le numéro de la plage désirée apparaisse à
l’affichage.

• Si vous avez sélectionné un numéro de plage brièvement après
avoir chargé un CD ou en position PAUSE, vous devrez appuyer
sur PLAY•PAUSE 2; pour démarrer la lecture.

Recherche d’un passage au sein d’une plage

1. Maintenez enfoncé SEARCH ∞ ou §.

™ La lecture se fait à vitesse rapide et à volume réduit.

2. Relâchez SEARCH ∞ ou § dès que vous avez trouvé le
passage souhaité.

– La lecture normale se poursuit.

Remarque: Au cours d’un programme CD ou si

Effacement d’un programme

Vous pouvez effacer le programme:
– en appuyant sur STOP 9 une fois en position STOP ou deux fois

pendant la lecture. L’affichage indique brièvement ' ';

– en appuyant sur le clapet du compartiment CD

pour l’ouvrir;

– en sélectionnant la source TUNER/ TAPE.

Entretien du lecteur de CD et des CD

• Dans le cas où le lecteur de CD ne lit pas correctement les CD
introduits, utilisez un CD de nettoyage en vente dans le
commerce pour nettoyer la lentille avant d’emmener l’appareil
chez le réparateur. Toutes les autres méthodes de nettoyage
risquent d’endommager la lentille.

• Ne jamais toucher à la lentille du lecteur de CD!

• La lentille risque de s’embuer suite à des changements
soudains de température. A ce moment-là, il n’est pas possible
de lire un CD. N’essayez pas de nettoyer la lentille, mais
mettez l’équipement dans un environnement chaud, de sorte
que l’humidité puisse s’évaporer.

• Laissez toujours le clapet du compartiment CD fermé pour
éviter que de la poussière ne se dépose sur la lentille.

• Pour extraire le CD de son coffret, appuyez sur le centre et
soulevez le CD de son logement. Saisissez toujours le CD par le
bord et remettez-le dans son coffret aussitôt après son utilisation
pour éviter de le rayer et pour le protéger contre la poussière.

• Pour nettoyer le CD, frottez en ligne droite en partant du centre
vers le bord avec un chiffon doux non pelucheux. L’emploi d’un
détergent peut sérieusement endommager le CD.

• Ne faites jamais d’inscription sur le CD et n’y apposez jamais
d’autocollants.

LECTURE D’UNE CASSETTE

1. Sélectionnez la source TAPE.

™ L’affichage indique tAPE le temps que la platine cassette est

utilisée.

2. Appuyez sur STOP•OPEN 9/ pour ouvrir le clapet du
compartiment de cassette.

3. Introduisez une cassette enregistrée et refermez le
compartiment de cassette.

4. Appuyez sur PLAY 1 pour démarrer la lecture.

5. Pour faire une pause pendant la lecture, Pour interrompre la

lecture, appuyez sur PAUSE ;. Appuyez à nouveau sur cette
touche pour recommencer la lecture.

6. Appuyez sur SEARCH 5 ou 6 pour avancer ou rebobiner
rapidement la cassette dans les deux directions.

7. Pour arrêter la cassette, appuyez sur STOP•OPEN 9/.

– Les touches se déclenchent automatiquement à la fin de la

• L’enregistrement n’est autorisé que dans la mesure où les
droits d’auteur ni de tiers ne sont pas enfreints.

• Cette platine n’est pas appropriée pour l’enregistrement sur
cassettes en CHROME (CEI II) ou METAL (CEI IV). Utilisez des
cassettes du type NORMAL (CEI I) dont les languettes n’ont
pas été brisées.

• Le niveau d’enregistrement se règle automatiquement. Le fait
d'agir sur les commandes VOL ou DBB, n'affecte nullement le
niveau d'enregistrement en cours.

• En début et en fin de cassette, l’enregistrement ne se fait pas
pendant 7 secondes, au moment où l’amorce passe devant les têtes.

• Afin d’éviter tout effacement par inadvertance d’un
enregistrement, brisez la languette gauche tout en gardant la
face de la cassette à protéger dirigée vers vous. Dès lors, il
n'est plus possible d'enregistrer de ce côté. Pour invalider
cette protection, recouvrez les languettes de bande adhésive.

ENREGISTREMENT SYNCHRONISE DU LECTEUR DE CD

1. Sélectionnez la source CD.

2. Introduisez un CD et, au besoin, programmez les numéros de

plage.

3. Appuyez sur STOP•OPEN 9/ pour ouvrir le clapet du
compartiment cassette.

4. Introduisez une cassette appropriée dans la platine cassette et
fermez le clapet du compartiment cassette.

5. Appuyez sur RECORD 0 pour démarrer l’enregistrement.

– La lecture du programme de CD commence automatiquement

depuis le début du programme. Il n’est pas nécessaire de

démarrer le lecteur CD séparément.

Pour sélectionner et enregistrer un passage particulier
dans une plage

• Maintenez enfoncée SEARCH ∞ ou §.

• Relâchez SEARCH dès que vous reconnaissez le passage désiré.

• Pour interrompre la lecture de CD,

appuyez sur PLAY/PAUSE 2;.

• L’enregistrement commence exactement à cet endroit, dès que
vous appuyez sur RECORD 0.

6. Pour interrompre brièvement l’enregistrement, appuyez sur
PAUSE ;. Pour recommencer l’enregistrement, appuyez à
nouveau sur PAUSE ;.

6. Pour arrêter l’enregistrement, appuyez sur STOP•OPEN 9/.

ENTRETIEN

Entretien de la platine cassette

Pour garantir une bonne qualité d’enregistrement et de lecture,
nettoyez les parties A,B et C toutes les 50 heures de
fonctionnement ou, en moyenne, une fois par mois. Utilisez un
coton-tige légèrement imbibé d'alcool ou d’un liquide spécial de
nettoyage pour têtes de platine.

1. Ouvrez le compartiment cassette en appuyant
sur STOP•OPEN 9/.

2. Appuyez sur PLAY 1 et nettoyez les galets presseurs en
caoutchouc C.

3. Appuyez sur PAUSE ; et nettoyez les têtes magnétiques A et
le cabestan B .

4. Après le nettoyage, appuyez sur STOP•OPEN 9/.

Remarque: Il est également possible de nettoyer les têtes en

faisant jouer une fois une cassette de nettoyage.

Información medioambiental

Se ha prescindido de cualquier material de embalaje innecesario. El embalaje esta compuesto de
tres materiales fácilmente separables: cartón (la caja), poliestireno expandible (amortiguación) y
polietileno (bolsas, plancha protectora de espuma).

El aparato está fabricado con materiales que se pueden reciclar si son desmontados por
una empresa especializada. Observe las normas locales concernientes a la eliminación

Si desea aumentar la duración de las pilas, utilice el suministro
de la red. Antes de introducir las pilas, desconecte el enchufe del
aparato y el de la toma mural.

PILAS (OPCIONALES)

1. Abra el compartimento e inserte seis pilas, tipo R-14, UM-2
o Células C, (preferiblemente alcalinas) de manera que las
polaridades coincidan con los signos "+" y "-" indicados en el
compartimento.

2. Cerciórese de que las ha insertado bien y con firmeza y coloque
de vuelta la tapa. El aparato está preparado para funcionar.

– Si se ilumina BATT LOW, la energía de las pilas se está

agotando.

– Si las pilas están muy desgastadas,

la indicación BATT LOWfinalmente desaparece.

Una utilización incorrecta de las pilas puede ocasionar un
derrame electrolítico y la corrosión del compartimento o provocar
un reventón de las mismas. De manera que:

• No mezcle los tipos de pilas, por ej. las alcalinas con las de
carbono-zinc. Utilice únicamente pilas del mismo tipo.

• Cuando vaya a introducir las pilas, no mezcle las gastadas
con las nuevas.

• Saque las pilas si no va a usar el aparato durante mucho
tiempo.

• Las pilas contienen sustancias químicas, de manera

que siga las instrucciones a la hora de deshacerse de
ellas.

Utilización de la energía CA

1. Compruebe que el voltaje que se indica en la placa tipo

Mantenimiento

• No exponga el aparato, las pilas, los CD o las casetes a la
humedad, lluvia, arena o al calor excesivo causado por
sistemas de calefacción o la luz directa del sol.

• Para limpiar el aparato, utilice una gamuza suave, ligeramente
humedecida. No utilice productos de limpieza que contengan

tanto, no es necesaria la telescópica. Oriéntela moviendo el

Selección de la emisora favorita

Puede memorizar las 3 emisoras que desee y reproducirlas mediante
los botones de programación fácil de una sola pulsación 1, 2 o 3.

1. Sintonice la emisora que desee (consulte Sintonización de
emisoras de radio).

2. Para almacenar la emisora, pulse 1, 2 o 3 durante 2 o más
segundos.

Programación de emisoras de radio

1. Para seleccionar el modo de reproducción, pulse el botón

CD MODE antes o durante la reproducción hasta que la
pantalla muestre la función que desee.

2. Pulse PLAY•PAUSE2; para inicial la reproducción si está en
la posición STOP.

3. Para volver a la reproducción normal, pulse el botón CD MODE
hasta que no se muestre ninguno de los diversos modos de
SHUFFLE / REPEAT.

Programación de números de pistas

Realice la programación en la posición STOP para seleccionar y
almacenar las pistas del CD en la secuencia deseada. Si lo desea,
puede almacenar cualquier pista más de una vez. Se pueden
guardar en la memoria hasta 20 pistas.

1. Use el botón SEARCH ∞ o § para seleccionar el número de
pista que desee.

2. Pulse PROGRAM.

Borrado de un programa

Puede borrar un programa:
– pulsando STOP 9 una vez en la posición STOP o dos veces

durante la reproducción. La pantalla mostrará ' '

brevemente;
– pulsando la apertura de la tapa del CD;
– cambiando de fuente de sonido a TUNER/TAPE.

Manejo del reproductor de CD y de los CD

Español

• Si el reproductor de CD no lee los discos correctamente, utilice

un disco limpiador antes de llevar el aparato a reparar. Un

método diferente de limpieza podría destruir la lente.

• ¡No toque nunca la lente del CD!

• Los cambios repentinos de temperatura en las proximidades

pueden provocar una acumulación de humedad en la lente del

reproductor de CD. En tal caso, se imposibilitará la

reproducción. No intente limpiar la lente, simplemente coloque

el aparato en un ambiente cálido hasta que se disipe el vapor.

• Mantenga el compartimento del CD siempre cerrado para

evitar la acumulación de polvo en la lente.

• Para extraer un CD de la caja, presione el eje central y levante

el CD al mismo tiempo. Agarre el CD por los bordes y para

evitar que se raye o se llene de polvo, colóquelo de vuelta en

su caja después de utilizarlo.

• Para limpiar el CD, utilice un paño suave sin pelusas y páselo

desde el centro hacia los bordes. No utilice productos de

limpieza que puedan dañar el disco.

• Nunca escriba o coloque pegatinas en el CD.

REPRODUCCIÓN DE UNA CINTA DE CASETE

1. Seleccione la fuente TAPE.

™ La pantalla mostrará tAPE durante el funcionamiento de la

cinta.

2. Pulse STOP•OPEN 9/ para abrir la tapa del casete.

3. Inserte una cinta grabada y cierre la tapa.

4. Pulse PLAY 1 para iniciar la reproducción.

5. Para detener la reproducción, Para interrumpir la reproducción,

pulse PAUSE ;. Para continuar, pulse esta tecla de nuevo.

6. Pulsando SEARCH 5 o 6 en el equipo, se puede avanzar

rápidamente la cinta en ambas direcciones.

7. Para detenerla, pulse STOP•OPEN 9/.

– Las teclas se sueltan automáticamente al final de la cinta, y la

indicación tAPE se apaga, excepto si se ha activado PAUSE ;.

• En general, se permiten realizar grabaciones siempre y cuando
no se infrinjan los derechos de autor o los derechos a terceros.

• La platina de este aparato no es compatible con casetes tipo
CHROME (IEC II) o METAL (IEC IV). Utilice únicamente las de
tipo NORMAL (IEC I) con las pestañas de protección intactas.

• El nivel óptimo de grabación se ajusta automáticamente. La
modificación de los controles VOL o DBB no afectan a la
grabación.

• Al principio y al final, durante los 7 segundos que tarda la
cinta de guía en pasar por las cabezas de grabación, no se
grabará nada.

• Para evitar grabaciones accidentales, rompa la pestaña izquierda.
Así ya no se podrá grabar en ese lado. Para volver a grabar en
ese lado de la casete, cubra el orificio con cinta adhesiva.

INICIO DE GRABACIÓN SINCRONIZADA CON EL CD

1. Seleccione la fuente CD.

2. Inserte un CD y si lo desea, programe los números de pista.

3. Pulse STOP•OPEN 9/ para abrir la tapa del casete.

4. Inserte una cinta adecuada en la platina del casete y cierre

la tapa.

5. Pulse RECORD 0 para iniciar la grabación.

– La reproducción del programa de CD comenzará

automáticamente desde el principio del programa.

No es necesario iniciar la reproducción del CD aparte.

MANTENIMIENTO

Mantenimiento de la platina

Para obtener una grabación o reproducción óptimas, limpie las
partes A,B y C de la platina cada 50 horas de funcionamiento,
o por termino medio, una vez al mes. Para limpiar ambas platinas,
utilice un trocito de algodón ligeramente humedecido en alcohol
o en algún producto especial de limpieza de cabezales.

1. Abra el portacasetes pulsando STOP•OPEN 9/.

2. Pulse PLAY 1 y limpie el rodillo de presión (de goma) C.

3. Pulse PAUSE ; y limpie las cabezas magnéticas A y también

el cabestrante B .

4. Después de la limpieza, pulse STOP•OPEN 9/.

Advertencia: También se pueden limpiar las cabezas pasando

una casete de limpieza una vez.

Nach Möglichkeit das Stromnetz benutzen, wenn Sie wollen,
dass die Batterien länger halten. Vor dem Einsetzen von Batterien
sicherstellen, dass der Netzstecker aus der Steckdose heraus­und vom Gerät abgezogen ist.

BATTERIEN (OPTIONAL)

1. Das Batteriefach öffnen und sechs Batterien (Typ R-14, UM-2
oder C-Zellen, (vorzugsweise Alkalibatterien) einsetzen,
wobei die richtige Polarität anhand der Symbole „+" und „-"
im Fach zu beachten ist.

2. Die Tür des Faches wieder anbringen und sicherstellen, dass
die Batterien fest und richtig eingesetzt sind. Das Gerät ist
jetzt einsatzbereit.

– Wenn BATT LOW aufleuchtet, ist die Batterie erschöpft.

– Der BATT LOW Indikator erlischt schließlich, wenn die

Batterien zu stark erschöpft sind.

Die unsachgemäße Benutzung von Batterien führt zu
austretendem Elektrolyt und korrodiert das Fach oder bewirkt
Bersten der Batterien. Des-halb:

• Batterietypen nicht mischen, z.B. Alkali mit Zink-Kohle.
Nur Batterien desselben Typs für das Gerät benutzen.

• Beim Einsetzen neuer Batterien nicht versuchen, alte
Batterien mit den neuen zu kombinieren.

• Die Batterien herausnehmen, wenn das Gerät längere Zeit
nicht benutzt wird.

• Batterien enthalten Chemikalien, weshalb sie

vorschriftsmäßig zu entsorgen sind.

Benutzung des Wechselstromnetzes

1. Nachprüfen, ob die auf dem Typenschild auf der

Allgemeine Pflegehinweise

• Gerät, Batterien, CDs oder Cassetten nicht Feuchtigkeit, Regen,
Sand oder übertriebener Wärme, die auf Heizanlagen oder
direkte Sonneneinstrahlung zurückzuführen ist, aussetzen.

• Zur Reinigung des Gerätes wird ein weiches, leicht
angefeuchtetes Ledertuch benutzt. Keine Reinigungsmittel
verwenden, die Alkohol, Ammoniak, Benzol oder scheuernde
Bestandteile enthalten, weil dadurch das Gehäuse beschädigt
werden könnte.

Sicherheitsinformationen

• Das Gerät auf eine harte, ebene Oberfläche stellen, damit das
System waagerecht steht. Sicherstellen, dass ausreichende
Lüftung vorhanden ist, um Überhitzen des Systems zu
verhindern.

5. Den POWER Regler auf TAPE/OFF schieben um das Gerät ab
zu schalten.

Verbesserung des Radioempfangs

– Für FM die Teleskopantenne ausziehen. Die Antenne neigen

und drehen. Sie einziehen, wenn das Signal zu stark (sehr nahe
an einem Sender) ist.

– Für MW/LWverfügt das Gerät über eine eingebaute Antenne,

weshalb die Teleskopantenne nicht benötigt wird. Die Antenne
durch Drehen des gesamten Gerätes ausrichten.

Beliebte Senderwahl

Für die von Ihnen bevorzugten 3 Sender können Sie leicht die
Programmier- und Wahltasten mit einem Anschlag 1, 2 oder 3
gebrauchen.

1. Auf Ihren gewünschten Sender einstellen (siehe Einstellen
auf Radiosender).

2. Um Ihren Sender zu speichern, 2 Sekunden oder länger auf die
Tasten 1, 2 oder 3 drücken.

™ Anzeige: Aktuelle Titelnummer und vergangene Abspielzeit des

Titels während des CD-Abspielens.

5. Zur Unterbrechung des Abspielens PLAY•PAUSE 2; drücken.
PLAY•PAUSE 2; erneut drücken, um mit dem Abspielen

fortzufahren.

™ Die Anzeige wird zum Festbild, und die vergangene Abspielzeit

blinkt, wenn das Abspielen unterbrochen wird (‚Pause‘).

6. Zum Anhalten des CD-Abspielens STOP 9 drücken.

Hinweis: CD-Abspielen hört auch dann auf, wenn:

– die CD-Tür geöffnet wird;
– die CD am Ende angekommen ist (es sei denn, Sie

wählten REPEAT oder REPEAT ALL);

– Sie eine andere Quelle wählen: TAPE / TUNER.

Wahl eines anderen Titels

• SEARCH ∞ oder § einmal oder wiederholt drücken, bis die
gewünschte Titelnummer in der Anzeige erscheint.

• Wenn Sie eine Titelnummer kurz nach Einlegen einer CD oder in
der Pause-Position gewählt haben, müssen Sie PLAY•PAUSE 2;
drücken, um mit dem Abspielen zu beginnen.

Suche nach einer Passage innerhalb eines Titels

1. SEARCH ∞ oder § drücken und gedrückt halten.

™ Die CD wird mit geringer Lautstärke und hoher

Geschwindigkeit abgespielt.

2. SEARCH ∞ oder § loslassen, sobald Sie die gewünschte
Passage erkennen

– Normales Abspielen wird fortgesetzt.

Sie können die diversen Abspielmodi vor dem oder beim Abspielen
wählen. Die Abspielmodi können auch mit PROGRAM kombiniert
werden.
SHUFFLE - Titel der gesamten CD/ des Programms werden in

zufälliger Reihenfolge abgespielt
SHUFFLE und REPEAT ALL- wiederholt die gesamte CD/ das
Programm ununterbrochen in zufälliger Reihenfolge

REPEAT ALL- wiederholt die gesamte CD/ das Programm
REPEAT- spielt den aktuellen Titel ununterbrochen ab

1. Zur Auswahl Ihres Abspielmodus die Taste CD MODE vor dem

oder beim Abspielen drücken, bis die gewünschte Funktion in
der Anzeige erscheint.

2. PLAY•PAUSE 2; drücken, um mit dem Abspielen zu

beginnen, wenn in der Stop-Position befindlich.

3. Zur Rückkehr zum normalen Abspielen CD MODE drücken, bis die

diversen SHUFFLE / REPEAT Modi nicht mehr angezeigt werden.

– Zum Aufheben Ihres Abspielmodus können Sie auch STOP 9

drücken.

Programmieren von Titelnummern

In der Stop-Position programmieren, um Ihre CD-Titel in der
gewünschten Reihenfolge zu wählen und zu speichern. Wenn Sie
wollen, können Sie einen Titel mehr als einmal speichern.
Bis zu 20 Titel können abgespeichert werden.

1. SEARCH ∞ oder § benutzen, um Ihre gewünschte

Titelnummer zu wählen.

2. PROGRAM drücken.
™ Anzeige:

erscheint kurz.

™ Wenn Sie zu programmieren versuchen, ohne zuerst eine

Titelnummer zu wählen, wird gezeigt.

3. Schritt 1-2 wiederholen, um alle gewünschten Titel zu wählen

und zu speichern.

zu programmieren.

4. Um mit dem Abspielen Ihres CD-Programms zu beginnen,

Löschen eines Programms

Sie können das Programm durch folgendes löschen:
– einmaliges Drücken von STOP 9 in der Stop-Position oder

zweimaliges Drücken beim Abspielen. In der Anzeige erscheint
kurz ' '.

– die CD-Tür drücken zum Öffnen;
– TUNER/TAPE als Quelle wählen.

Umgang mit CD-Spieler und CD

• Wenn der CD-Spieler CDs nicht richtig lesen kann, eine
handelsübliche Reinigungs-CD zur Reinigung der Linse

Reinigungsmethoden können die Linse zerstören.

• Die Linse des CD-Spielers sollte niemals berührt werden!

• Plötzliche Änderungen der Umgebungstemperatur können zu
Kondensation führen, und die Linse des CD-Spielers kann
beschlagen. Abspielen einer CD ist dann nicht möglich. Nicht
versuchen, die Linse zu reinigen, sondern des Gerät in einer
warmen Umgebung lassen, bis die Feuchtigkeit verdunstet.

• Das CD-Fach stets geschlossen halten, um Staub auf der Linse
zu vermeiden.

• Zur Herausnahme einer CD aus ihrer Schutzhülle die
Zentralspindel beim Anheben der CD drücken. Die CD stets am
Rand anheben und nach Gebrauch wieder in ihre Schutzhülle
einlegen, um Kratzer und Staubeinwirkung zu vermeiden.

• Die CD durch eine geradlinige Bewegung von der Mitte zum
Rand mit einem weichen, fusselfreien Tuch reinigen. Keine
Reiniger benutzen, da sie den Tonträger beschädigen können.

• Niemals auf eine CD schreiben oder Aufkleber an ihr
anbringen.

– Die Tasten werden am Bandende automatisch abgeschaltet und

• Die Aufnahme ist zulässig, solange Urheberrechte oder
sonstige Rechte Dritter nicht verletzt werden.

• Dieses Deck ist für die Aufnahme auf CHROM- (IEC II) oder
METALL- (IEC IV) Cassetten ungeeignet. Für die Aufnahme
sollten Sie ausschließlich NORMAL-Cassetten (IEC I) benutzen,
deren Zungen nicht herausgebrochen wurden.

• Die optimale Aussteuerung wird automatisch eingestellt.
Ändern der Bedienelemente VOL oder DBB hat keinen Einfluß
auf die vor sich gehende Aufnahme.

• Während der ersten und letzten 7 Sekunden findet keine
Aufnahme statt, wenn das Vorspannband an den
Aufnahmeköpfen vorbeiläuft.

• Um das versehentliche Löschen einer Aufnahme zu verhindern,
die Cassette vor sich halten und die Zunge links
herausbrechen. Aufzeichnung auf dieser Seite ist nicht mehr
möglich. Um diese Aufnahme- bzw. Löschsperre aufzuheben,
kann die entstandene Öffnung mit einem Klebeband abgedeckt
werden.

SYNCHRO START CD-AUFZEICHNUNG

1. CD als Quelle wählen.

2. Eine CD einlegen und, falls gewünscht, Titelnummern

programmieren.

3. STOP•OPEN 9/ drücken, um das Cassettenfach zu öffnen.

4. Eine geeignete Cassette in das Cassettendeck einlegen und

das Cassettenfach zudrücken.

5. RECORD 0 drücken, um mit dem Überspielen zu beginnen.

– Das Abspielen des CD-Programms beginnt automatisch ab

Programmanfang. Der CD-Spieler braucht nicht gesondert

gestartet zu werden.

Überspielen vom Radio

1. Auf den gewünschten Radiosender einstellen (siehe

EINSTELLEN AUF RADIOSENDER).

2. STOP•OPEN 9/ drücken, um das Cassettenfach zu öffnen.

3. Eine geeignete Cassette in das Cassettendeck einlegen und

das Cassettenfach schließen.

4. RECORD 0 drücken, um mit dem Überspielen zu beginnen.

• Wenn Sie einen MW/LW-Sender aufnehmen, den BEAT CUT
Schalter einstellen, um jegliches Pfeifgeräusch zu beseitigen.

5. Für kurze Unterbrechungen PAUSE ; drücken. Zur Fortsetzung
der Aufnahme erneut PAUSE ; drücken.

6. Zum Anhalten der Aufnahme STOP•OPEN 9/ drücken.

PFLEGE

Pflege des Cassettendecks

Zur Gewährleistung guter Aufnahme- und Wiedergabequalität
sind die mit A,B und C bezeichneten Teile (im nachstehenden
Diagramm) ca. alle 50 Betriebsstunden oder im Schnitt einmal pro
Monat zu reinigen. Ein leicht mit Alkohol angefeuchtetes
Wattestäbchen oder eine spezielle Kopfreinigungsflüssigkeit zur
Reinigung beider Decks benutzen.

1. Das Cassettenfach durch Drücken von STOP•OPEN 9/
drücken.

2. PLAY 1 drücken und die Gummi-Andruckrollen C reinigen.

3. PAUSE ; drücken und die magnetischen Köpfe A sowie die

Tonwelle B reinigen.

4. Nach der Reinigung STOP•OPEN 9/ drücken.

Hinweis: Die Köpfe können auch durch einmaliges komplettes

Abspielen einer Reinigungscassette gereinigt werden.

FEHLERSUCHE

Wenn ein Fehler auftritt, zuerst die nachstehenden Punkte überprüfen, bevor das Gerät zur Reparatur
gegeben wird. Wenn Sie das Problem nicht durch Befolgen dieser Ratschläge lösen können, sollten
Sie sich an Ihren Händler oder an Ihr Reparaturzentrum wenden.

WARNHINWEIS: Das Gerät nicht öffnen, weil Stromschlaggefahr besteht. Unter
