GETTING STARTED
RECOMMENDED INSTALLATION PROCESS
A unique chassis design like the Shift 2 (air) comes with a dierent approach to the installation process.
That is why we recommend to follow these installation tips:
- Follow the component installation order as shown in this manual.
- Pre-route the cables for each installed component as shown at each step.
- Wait with connecting cables until the end of the installation process.
Depending on hardware components such as power cable length the cable routing can be dierent.

PREPARATIONS
• The Evolv Shift 2 case is designed to support installation in a standing position.
• Don’t turn on the power to your system until installation is complete.
• Discharge your body’s static electric charge by touching a grounded surface before performing any hardware procedure.
• Make sure to consult the manuals of your hardware before installation.

INSTALLING POWER SUPPLY

The SFX power supply fan can be faced towards the side panel or the inside of the chassis. For the Shift 2 with
tempered glass side panels we recommend facing the inside of the chassis.

PLACE THE SFX PSU ON ITS POSITION

CONNECT THE POWER EXTENSION CORD TO THE PSU
MAKE SURE THE PSU SWITCH IS TURNED ON

Install the power supply in the correct orientation for
the best performance depending on your model

INSTALLING POWER SUPPLY
After plugging in all needed power cables to the PSU, the power cables can be
pre-routed to make the installation process of other components easier.
4.1
CPU CABLE
Route the CPU Cable through the grommet and the rear
cut-out, outside the chassis.
4.2
SATA/MOLEX CABLE
Route the SATA and MOLEX Cables through the front
cut-out, outside the chassis.
4.3
GPU CABLE
Route the GPU Cable(s) through the front cut-out,
outside the chassis.
4.4
24-PIN MOTHERBOARD CABLE
Route the Motherboard Cable through the left or right
grommet and out the side of the chassis. This depends
on the lenght of the 24-Pin cable.

Install the GPU on the GPU bracket rst before placing it in the chassis. The GPU bracket is congured to
face the GPU cooler towards the side panel out of the box. If you prefer to face the GPU cooler towards the
motherboard, please move the stand-o as shown in step 3.

2.5” SSD INSTALLATION
Two 2.5’’ SSD drives can be installed in the Dual SSD Bracket. Orientation of the drives is important for easy
cable management, so please follow the following steps for correct installation. Optionally, a second Dual
SSD Bracket can be installed in a second location if no 3.5” HDD is installed.

A 3.5” HDD can be installed using the rubber grommets that are
pre-installed on the chassis.

CABLE MANAGEMENT
At this stage all cables can be connected to the system components.
For easier cable management we recommend to connect all small
cables rst and power cables last.
1. SMALL CABLES
Connect all small cables to the motherboards; Power
Switch, fans, D-RGB, SATA Data.
2. USB 3.0
Connect the USB 3.0 cable to the motherboard.

3. CPU CABLE
Route the CPU Cable to the cut-out at the top where it
can be connected to the motherboard.
4. 24-PIN MOTHERBOARD CABLE
Connect the 24-PIN Motherboard cable to the
motherboard.
5. AIO TUBING
Route the tubing in the cut-out. Optionally you can use
zip-ties to hold them in place here.
6. CABLE COVER
The magnetic cable cover securely snaps into place on
the inside of the chassis by magnets.

CABLE MANAGEMENT
7. GPU CABLE
Route the GPU Cable(s) under the Dual SSD Bracket to
the cable cut-out toward the GPU.

8. SATA/MOLEX CABLES
Connect the SATA/Molex cables to the Storage Drives
and make a bundle with the excess cables. Use the
velcro strap to tie them down.
9. EXCESS CABLES
Use the velcro ties and zip-tie locations to bundle any
excess cables on the outside of the chassis as much
as possible. This will create a clean interior and keeps
components within reach.

10. EXTERNAL CABLES
Use the channels at the power connector to route
external cables such as HDMI, USB and audio cables
underneath the aluminium panels.
Secure the external cables with a zip-tie.

DUST FILTERS
The Evolv Shift 2 is equipped with a bottom and top dust lter. The bottom dust lter is removable for easy cleaning (2). The top dust
lter is built into the top panel (1). The front and rear panel have metal ultra-ne mesh parts that also act as dust lters (3 & 4). We
recommend to clean these lters every month to keep your cooling performance optimized.

PHANTEKS warrants its products to be free from defects in material and workmanship during
the warranty period; when given normal, proper and intended usage. If a product proves
to be defective in material or workmanship during the warranty period, PHANTEKS will,
at its sole option, repair or replace the product with same product or similar product. The
replacement product assumes the remaining warranty of the original product or 30 days,
whichever provides longer coverage for the customer.
