This is the safety alert symbol. It is used to alert you to potential personal injury hazards.

which, if not avoided, could result in harm to your pet.

• Risk of explosion. Do not short circuit, mix old and new batteries, dispose of in fire, or expose to

water. When batteries are stored or disposed, they must be protected from shorting. Dispose of used
batteries properly.

• Not for use with aggressive dogs. Do not use this product if your dog is prone to aggressive

behaviour. Aggressive dogs can cause severe injury or death to their owners and others. If you are
not sure that this product is right for your dog, please talk to your veterinarian or a certified trainer.

• The PetSafe® Remote Vibration Trainer is not a toy. Keep away from the reach of

children. Use it only for its training purpose.

• Safety during on-lead training. It is vitally important that you and your dog remain safe

while learning during on-lead training. Your dog should be on a strong lead, long enough for him to
attempt to chase an object, but short enough for him not to reach a road or other unsafe area. You
must also be physically strong enough to restrain your dog when he tries to chase.

Risk of skin damage. Please read and follow the instructions in this manual. Proper fit of the collar
is important. A collar worn for too long or made too tight on the pet’s neck may cause skin damage.
Ranging from redness to pressure ulcers; this condition is commonly known as bed sores.

• Avoid leaving the collar on the dog for more than 12 hours per day.

• When possible reposition the collar on the pet’s neck every 1 to 2 hours.

• Check the fit to prevent excessive pressure; follow the instructions in this manual.

• Never connect a lead to the electronic collar; it will cause excessive pressure on the contacts.

• When using a separate collar for a lead, don’t put pressure on the electronic collar.

• Wash the dog’s neck area and the contacts of the collar weekly with a damp cloth.

• Examine the contact area daily for signs of a rash or a sore.

• If a rash or sore is found, discontinue use of the collar until the skin has healed.

• If the condition persists beyond 48 hours, see your veterinarian.

• For additional information on bed sores and pressure necrosis, please visit our website.
These steps will help keep your pet secure and comfortable. Some pets are sensitive to contact pressure.

You may find after some time that your pet is very tolerant of the collar. If so, you may relax some of these
precautions. It is important to continue daily checks of the contact area. If redness or sores are found,
discontinue use until the skin has fully healed.

How the System Works

Now you can experience the difference a Remote Trainer can make. The PetSafe® VT-100 Remote Vibration
Trainer assists you in managing your pet without a lead in a range of up to 100 metres. The Remote Trainer is
comfortable for your pet and easy to use with 16 levels of continuous Vibration Stimulation (8 low levels and
8high levels). The Remote Vibration Trainer has an advanced Digital Display that tells you exactly what level of
Vibration Stimulation you are using. The Handheld Remote sends a signal activating your dog’s Receiver Collar.
The Vibration is delivered from one of the two Vibration Points. Using the Remote Trainer is a great method of
communicating with your dog and it is capable of teaching all the customary commands

Important: The Remote Trainer has a range up to 100 metres. Hold the
Handheld Remote in a horizontal position away from your body to achieve
optimum range. Terrain, weather, vegetation, transmission from other radio
devices, and other factors will affect the maximum range.

Receiver Collar: Delivers Vibration or Tone Stimulation on a signal from the Handheld Remote. It is
water resistant.

On/Off Button: Momentarily pressing and
holding this button turns the Receiver Collar on
and off.

Vibration Points: Deliver Vibration

button is pressed and also serves as a low-battery indicator.

STEP 1

Prepare the Handheld Remote

To Insert and Remove the Battery

1. To remove, use a coin and turn the Battery Cover counter-clockwise until the right triangle aligns with the

unlock symbol on the Handheld Remote housing (1A).

2. Install two (2), 3-volt (CR2032) batteries positive (+) side up (1B).

3. To replace the Battery Cover, align the right triangle with the unlock symbol, press down and turn clockwise

(1C) so that the right triangle aligns with the lock symbol on the Handheld Remote housing.

To verify the batteries are inserted correctly

1. Press any button on the Handheld Remote.

2. The Digital Display should activate showing the current stimulation level.

3. If the Digital Display doesn’t activate, you may have inserted the batteries backwards. Try taking them
out and turning them over, ensuring that the (+) side is up.

4. If the Digital Display still does not activate, contact the Customer Care Centre.

Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type. Do not short circuit, mix old
and new batteries, dispose of in fire, or expose to water. When batteries are stored or
disposed, they must be protected from shorting. Dispose of used batteries properly.

Handheld Remote Digital Display

The Digital Display stays on for approximately 30 seconds after a button press. After 30 seconds with no button
press, the display shuts off and the Handheld Remote goes into battery conservation mode. Pressing any button
will turn the display back on. The symbols on the Digital Display are explained below.

L indicates low Vibration Levels ranging from 1-8, and appears in the lower left corner
before the battery indicator.

H indicates high Vibration Levels ranging from 1-8, and appears in the lower right corner
after the battery indicator.

The battery indicator provides constant awareness of your battery’s power level. Divided
into segments, 3 segments indicate high battery power, 2 segments indicate medium, 1
segment indicates low (replace soon) and no segments indicate critically low (replace
immediately). Note: Red LED will flash 3 times every 5 seconds to indicate low battery.

Indicates Handheld Remote is ready to pair with Receiver Collar. Press Vibration Down
Button (–) through the Vibration Levels to display and begin pairing.

STEP 2

Prepare the Receiver Collar

To Insert and Remove the Batteries

1. Remove the screws with a small Phillips
screwdriver, applying adequate pressure
for the screwdriver head to fit snugly into
the screw. Remove the Battery Cover (2A).

2. Install one (1), 3-volt (CR2) battery as
shown (2B). Place the Battery Cover
back into the Receiver Collar. Note:

Be sure the gasket on the inside rim of
the Battery Cover is intact each time
youreplace it.

3. Reinstall the screws. Do not over-tighten
the screws.

Replacement batteries can be found at many
retailers. Contact the Customer Care Centre or visit our website at www.petsafe.net for a list of common retailers.

Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type. Do not short circuit, mix old
and new batteries, dispose of in fire, or expose to water. When batteries are stored or
disposed, they must be protected from shorting. Dispose of used batteries properly.

To turn the Receiver Collar On

1. Press and hold the On/Off Button until the unit beeps and the Green LED light comes on. (This takes
approximately one second.)

2. Release the On/Off Button. The Green LED will flash once every 5 seconds, indicating the Receiver
Collar is on and ready to receive a signal from the Handheld Remote.

To turn the Receiver Collar Off

1. Press and hold the On/Off Button until the unit beeps and the LED light shuts off. (This takes
approximately 3 seconds.)

2. Release the On/Off Button. Note: To extend the life of the batteries, turn the Receiver Collar off when

it is not in use.

Important: If the Receiver Collar is left on continuously, the maximum battery life will be two weeks.

STEP 3

Fit the Receiver Collar

Important: The proper fit and placement of your Receiver Collar is important for
effective operation. The Vibration Points must have direct contact with your dog’s skin
on the underside of his neck.

To assure a proper fit, please follow these steps:

1. Make sure that the Receiver Collar is turned off.

2. Start with your dog standing comfortably (3A).

3. Place the Receiver Collar on your dog’s neck close to
the ears. Centre the Vibration Points underneath your
dog’s neck, touching the skin (3B). Note: It is sometimes

necessary to trim the hair around the Vibration Points to
make sure that contact is consistent.

Do not shave the pet’s neck as this may increase the risk of skin irritation.

4. Check the tightness of the Receiver Collar by inserting

one finger between the collar and your dog’s neck (3C). The
fit should be snug but not constricting.

5. Allow your dog to wear the Receiver Collar for several
minutes then recheck the fit. Check the fit again as your dog
becomes more comfortable with the Receiver Collar.

6. Trim the collar as follows: (3D)

a. Mark the desired length of the collar with a pen. Allow for

growth if your dog is young or grows a thick winter coat.

b. Remove the Receiver Collar from your dog and cut off

excess.

c. Before placing the Receiver Collar back onto your dog,

seal the edge of the cut collar by applying a flame
along the frayed edge.

The Receiver Collar should not be worn for more than 12 hours out of every 24-hour
period. Leaving the Receiver Collar on too long could lead to skin irritation. Please refer
to the “Important Safety Information” section for additional information.

To Re-Thread the Collar

The slide buckle prevents the collar from becoming
loose around your pet’s neck.

The ridges must be facing up; the collar will slip if it is not
properly threaded.

STEP 4

To Pair the Handheld Remote and Receiver Collar

If your Receiver Collar does not beep when the Tone Button of the Handheld Remote is pressed, or if the
Receiver Collar is not responding to the Handheld Remote, follow these steps to pair:

1. Start with the Receiver Collar off your pet and powered off.

2. Press and hold the On/Off Button until the Green LED shuts off. When the Green
LED shuts off, release the On/Off Button and the Receiver Collar LED will flash
green.

3. Place the Handheld Remote into pairing mode by pressing the

Vibration Down

Button (–)

until the Digital Display shows “P”.

4. Press the Tone and Vibration Buttons simultaneously (the Orange LED should be lit)
until the Receiver Collar flashes the Green LED 5 times, indicating it has learned the
Handheld Remote ID.

5. Change the level to 1 Low by pressing the Vibration Up Button (+) on the Handheld Remote and then press
the Tone Button. The Receiver Collar will emit a tone, verifying that it is paired with the Handheld Remote.

6. If the Receiver Collar does not respond, please contact the Customer Care Centre.

TRAINING GUIDE

Test the Remote Trainer

We recommend you experience first-hand how the Remote Trainer functions. Always begin at the lowest
level and increase the intensity up to your personal comfort level.

1. Place your fingers on both Vibration Points of the Receiver Collar.

2. Hold the Handheld Remote approximately 0.6 metres from the Receiver Collar and press the
Vibration Up Button (+) to show Level 1 on the Digital Display. Press the Vibration Button (blue). At this
level you may not feel the Vibration Stimulation.

Note: An automatic safety time-out will be triggered if any Vibration Button is held for more than 10
seconds. Once released, the Vibration Button resets to normal functionality.

3. Increase the intensity until the sensation begins to feeluncomfortable.

General Tips

Introducing the Remote Trainer: Introduce your PetSafe® Receiver Collar when your dog
graduates from puppy stage and understands basic obedience commands. PetSafe

®

Receiver Collars

should only be used with pets who are over 6 months of age.

Note: Other pets in hearing range will be affected by the training tones. Therefore, training sessions
should be conducted out of hearing range of other pets.

Avoiding a “Collar Wise” dog: Try to avoid letting your dog become “collar wise”, obeying
only when wearing the PetSafe

®

Receiver Collar. Similarly, avoid letting the dog learn to obey only
when seeing the Handheld Remote in your hand. This is easy to prevent (see “Remain the Leader” in the
following “Dog Training Recommendations” section).

Training Sessions & Determining Stimulation Levels: Keep your training sessions short and
watch your dog’s reaction - your pet will tell you what level of Vibration Stimulation is appropriate
to use and when to release the button. Please refer to “Find the Best Vibration Level for Your Pet” for
additional information.

Stopping Unwanted Behaviour: When stopping unwanted behaviour, it is suggested to use
higher levels of Vibration Stimulation - the pet should be convinced that his unacceptable actions (not
you) caused the annoying sensation to happen.

Dogs First Learn One Command: Focus on learning one command before moving on to another.
When teaching a command like “heel”, “come”, “sit”, or “down”, many trainers recommend using low
levels of Vibration Stimulation. The dog quickly learns to turn off or completely avoid the unpleasant
sensation.

Reinforcing Known Commands: To reinforce commands the dog already knows, it is suggested
to use medium Vibration Stimulation levels. This teaches the dog to respect instructions by always listening
and obeying.

Note: Using praise or treats to reward the correct response is great for encouraging the dog, but it is
suggested you and your family members always remain the dog’s leader.

Never use the Remote Trainer to correct or eliminate any form of aggressive
behaviour. We recommend you contact your local veterinarian or professional
trainer to determine if your pet might be aggressive.

Training Your Pet with Tone Stimulation

Before using the Remote Trainer to correct your pet, spend 10 to 15 minutes per day for 2 or 3 days
helping him create the association of the Tone Stimulation with reward and praise. To accomplish this:

1. Push the Tone Button (green) for 2 consecutive seconds.

2. Release the button and immediately reward your pet with verbal praise, petting, or a small food
reward. Spend 3 to 5 seconds on your rewarding.

3. Wait a few minutes and repeat holding the Tone Button for 2 seconds following with praise.

Vary the reward to prevent your pet from anticipating a specific type. This stage of training is complete
when your pet obviously anticipates a reward when he hears the tone.

Find the Best Vibration Level for Your Pet

Important: Always start at the lowest level and work your way up.
The Remote Trainer has 8 Low and 8 High Vibration Levels. This allows you to choose the Vibration Level

that is best for your pet.
Once you have placed the Receiver Collar on your pet, it is time to find the Vibration Level that is best for

him. This is called the Recognition Level.
A slight change in your pet’s behaviour, such as looking around in curiosity, scratching at his collar, or

flicking his ears, indicates the Recognition Level that is best for him.
Follow the steps below to find your pet’s Recognition Level:

1. Starting at Level 1 Low on the Digital Display, press the Vibration Button (blue) continuously for 1 to 2
seconds. Note: A safety time-out will be triggered if the button is held for more than 10 consecutive

seconds. The safety time-out will end when the button is released.

2. If your pet shows no reaction, repeat the same Vibration Level several times before moving up to
the next level.

3. YOUR PET SHOULD NOT VOCALISE OR PANIC WHEN RECEIVING VIBRATION STIMULATION.
IF THIS HAPPENS, THE LEVEL IS TOO HIGH AND YOU NEED TO GO BACK TO THE PREVIOUS
LEVEL AND REPEAT THE PROCESS.

4. Move up through the Vibration Levels until your pet reliably responds to that level.

5. If your pet continues to show no response at Level 8 High, check the fit of the Receiver Collar. If your
pet has long or thick hair, your pet’s hair will need to be trimmed around the Vibration Points.

Do not shave the pet’s neck as this may increase the risk of skin irritation.

If, after completing all of these steps, your dog still does not indicate he is feeling the Vibration
Stimulation, please contact Customer Care Centre or visit our website at www.petsafe.net.

+2 Boost

Pressing the +2 Boost Button (Red) sends a signal to the Receiver Collar to issue a Vibration Stimulation
that is 2 levels higher than the currently selected level. For example, if the Vibration Level is set at Level
2 Low, pressing the +2 Boost Button will stimulate at Level 4 Low. Note: The system can not exceed the

8 High Vibration Level.

Dog Training Recommendations

When Training Begins: Training starts the moment you bring your puppy home. While your dog will
not be ready for the PetSafe

®

products until he has matured, you should begin basic training immediately.

Remain the Leader: Stop your dog from becoming “collar wise”. An easy solution known as
“Collar Conditioning” will help prevent the dog from listening only when wearing the Receiver Collar and
disobeying when he is not wearing it. First, fit the Receiver Collar on your dog. Second, immediately take
your dog outside or do something he enjoys; don’t activate the Receiver Collar. Let the dog wear it during
non-training sessions. Your dog should believe wearing the Receiver Collar can also result in having fun. It
should not be perceived as punishment. Place the Receiver Collar on and off the dog at various times for
short or longer periods to make wearing it a normal routine. Similarly, don’t let the dog learn to obey only
when he sees the Handheld Remote. Also carry the Handheld Remote, but don’t use it all the time. How long
should this process take? Professional trainers’ opinions vary from a few days to a couple of weeks.

Focus on the Dog: Professional trainers’ opinions vary on some issues, but all users of remote training
systems strongly recommend watching your dog, not the Handheld Remote, when training. PetSafe

®

“Good Dog” in the Home or Outside: Stopping unwanted behaviour is easy using the PetSafe

®

Remote Trainers. Your dog can be good in and out of the house. Remember to be fair to the dog and
remove temptation whenever possible.

Be Consistent and Responsible: Use the Remote Trainer every time your dog misbehaves. Only let
responsible family members use the Remote Trainer. It is not a toy!

How old does my pet have to
be before using the Remote
Trainer?

• Your pet should be able to recognize basic obedience

• The maximum amount of time you can press the Vibration
Button and deliver Vibration Stimulation to your pet
continuously is 10 seconds. After this, the Handheld
Remote will time-out, and the Vibration Button must be
released and pressed again.

My pet does not
respond when I press a
button.

• Make sure the Receiver Collar has been turned on.

• If your range has reduced from the first time you used the Remote
Trainer, the battery(s) may be low in either the Handheld Remote or
Receiver Collar.

• Many factors can impact the amount of range you have with the Remote
Trainer. For a list of these factors, see “How the System Works”.

• Increase the Vibration Level. Refer to “Find the Best Vibration Level
For Your Pet” for more information.

• Make sure the Receiver Collar’s Vibration Points are placed snugly
against your pet’s skin. Refer to “Fit the Receiver Collar” for more
information.

The Receiver Collar will

• Check that one (1) 3-volt (CR2) battery has been installed properly.
See “To Insert and Remove the Battery.”

This Product is designed for use with pets only. This pet training device is not intended to harm, injure or
provoke. Using this Product in a way that is not intended could result in violation of Federal, State or local laws.

What is covered: Radio Systems Australia Pty Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Radio Systems”)

warrants to the original retail purchaser, and not any other purchaser or subsequent owner, that its
product, when subject to normal and proper residential use, will be free from defects in material or
workmanship for a period of three (3) years from the purchase date. An “original retail consumer
purchaser” is a person or entity who originally purchases the Product, or a gift recipient of a new product
that is unopened and in its original packaging. When serviced by Radio Systems Customer Service,
Radio Systems covers labour and parts for the first three years of ownership; after the first three years, a
service or upgrade charge will apply relative to replacement of the product with new or refurbished items
at Radio Systems’ sole discretion.

The limited warranty is non-transferrable and shall automatically terminate if the original retail consumer
purchaser resells the Radio Systems product or transfers the property on which the Radio Systems product
is installed. This Limited Warranty excludes accidental damage due to dog chews; lightning damage; or
neglect, alteration, and misuse. Consumers who purchase products outside of Australia, New Zealand,
or from an unauthorised dealer will need to return the Product to the original place of purchase for any

To file a claim, a proof of purchase must be provided. Without a proof of purchase, Radio Systems will
not repair or replace faulty components. Radio Systems requests the Consumer to contact the Radio
Systems Customer Care Centre to obtain a Warranty Return number, prior to sending the Product. Failure
to do so may delay in the repair or replacement of the Product.

If the Product is deemed to be faulty within 30 days from date of original purchase, Radio Systems will
organise for a replacement to be sent in advance of returning the faulty Product. A Post Bag will be
included with the replacement Product for the return of the faulty Product. The Product must be returned
within 7 days of receiving the replacement. If the Product is deemed to be faulty after 30 days from the
date of original purchase, the consumer will be required to return the Product to Radio Systems at the
consumer’s own expense. Radio Systems will test and replace the faulty unit or its components and return
to the consumer free of charge, provided the Product is within its said warranty period. This warranty
is in addition to other rights and remedies available to you under the law. Radio Systems goods come
with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australia Consumer Law. You are entitled to a
replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable
loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of

ÉTAPE 1

Préparation de la télécommande portable

Pour insérer et retirer la pile

1. Pour retirer la pile, à l’aide d’une pièce de monnaie, tournez le cache de la pile dans le sens contraire des

aiguilles d’une montre jusqu’à ce que le triangle de droite soit aligné sur le symbole de déverrouillage sur le
boîtier de la télécommande portable (1A).

2. Installez deux (2) piles de 3 volts (CR2032), la borne positive (+) dirigée vers le haut (1B).

3. Pour remettre en place le cache de la pile, alignez le triangle de droite sur le symbole de déverrouillage,

appuyez sur le cache, puis tournez-le dans le sens des aiguilles d’une montre (1C) de sorte que le triangle
de droite soit aligné sur le symbole de verrouillage sur le boîtier de la télécommande portable.

Pour vérifier que les piles sont correctement insérées

1. Appuyez sur n’importe quel bouton de la télécommande portable.

2. L’écran numérique devrait s’allumer et indiquer le niveau de stimulation actuel.

3. Si l’écran numérique ne s’allume pas, il est possible que vous ayez inséré les piles à l’envers. Essayez

de les retirer, puis retournez-les, en veillant à ce que la borne positive soit dirigée (+) vers le haut.

4. Si l’écran numérique ne s’allume toujours pas, contactez le Service clientèle.

Écran numérique de la télécommande portable

L’écran numérique reste actif pendant une trentaine de secondes après qu’un bouton a été enfoncé. Si aucun
bouton n’est actionné au bout de 30 secondes, l’écran s’éteint et la télécommande portable bascule en mode
d’économie d’énergie. Il vous suffit d’appuyer sur n’importe quel bouton pour activer à nouveau l’écran. Les
symboles visibles à l’écran sont décrits ci-dessous.

L indique les niveaux de vibration bas, allant de 1-8, et apparaît dans l’angle inférieur gauche
avant le voyant de la pile.

H indique les niveaux de vibration hauts, allant de 1-8, et apparaît dans l’angle inférieur droit après
le voyant de la pile.

Le voyant de la pile permet de savoir à tout moment quel est le niveau de charge de votre pile.
Divisé en segments, 3 segments indiquent le niveau de la pile haut, 2 segments indiquent le niveau
moyen, 1 segment indique le niveau bas (à remplacer sous peu) et l’absence de segments indique
un niveau critiquement bas (à remplacer immédiatement). Remarque : la LED rouge clignotera 3 fois

toutes les 5 secondes en cas de la pile faible.

Indique que la télécommande portable est prête à être associée au collier-récepteur. Appuyez sur le
bouton de baisse de vibration (–) parmi les niveaux de vibration pour afficher et lancer l’association.

Préparer le collier-récepteur

Pour insérer et retirer les piles

1. Retirez les vis avec un petit tournevis cruciforme, en
exerçant une pression suffisante pour que la tête
du tournevis tienne fermement dans la vis. Retirez
le cache de la pile (2A).

2. Installez une (1) pile de 3 volts (CR2)
comme indiqué à la figure (2B). Remettez le
cache de la pile en place dans le collier­récepteur. Remarque : veillez à ce que le joint

d’étanchéité sur le bord intérieur du cache de
la pile soit intact à chaque fois que vous le
remettez en place.

3. Remettez les vis en place. Ne les serrez pas
de manière excessive.

Pour allumer le collier-récepteur

1. Appuyez sur l'interrupteur marche/arrêt et maintenez-le enfoncé jusqu'à ce que l'appareil émette un bip
sonore et que la LED verte s'allume. (Une seconde environ est nécessaire à cette fin.)

2. Relâchez l'interrupteur marche/arrêt. La LED verte clignotera une fois toutes les 5 secondes, indiquant que
le collier-récepteur est allumé et prêt à recevoir un signal de la télécommande portable.

Pour éteindre le collier-récepteur

1. Appuyez sur l'interrupteur marche/arrêt et maintenez-le enfoncé jusqu'à ce que l'appareil émette un bip
sonore et que la LED s'éteigne. (Environ 3 secondes sont nécessaires à cette fin.)

2. Relâchez l'interrupteur marche/arrêt. Remarque: afin d'allonger la durée de vie de la pile, éteignez le

collier-récepteur lorsqu'il n'est pas utilisé.

Important : si le collier-récepteur est laissé allumé en permanence, la durée de vie maximale de la pile sera
de deux semaines.

Ajustement du collier-récepteur

Important : il est indispensable que le collier-récepteur soit bien ajusté pour
garantir son bon fonctionnement. Les points de vibration doivent être directement en
contact avec la peau de votre chien, au niveau de la partie inférieure du cou.

Pour que le collier soit bien ajusté, veuillez suivre les étapes ci-dessous:

1. Assurez-vous que le collier-récepteur est éteint.

2. Commencez alors que votre chien se tient debout

confortablement (3A).

3. Placez le collier-récepteur sur l’encolure du chien, à
proximité des oreilles. Centrez les points de vibration en
dessous du cou de votre chien, en contact avec la peau
(3B). Remarque: il est parfois nécessaire de couper les

poils autour des points de vibration pour garantir un contact efficace.

Ne rasez pas le cou de l'animal car cela peut augmenter le risque d'irritation de la peau.

4.

Vérifiez l'ajustement du collier-récepteur en insérant un doigt
entre le collier et le cou de votre chien (3C). L'ajustement doit
être serré mais ne doit pas comprimer.

5. Laissez le collier-récepteur sur votre chien pendant plusieurs
minutes, puis vérifiez à nouveau l’ajustement. Lorsque votre
chien s'est habitué au collier-récepteur, vérifiez encore s'il
est bien ajusté.

6. Coupez le collier à la taille voulue : (3D)

a. Faites une marque indiquant la longueur désirée du collier

avec un crayon. Laissez une longueur suffisante si votre
chien n’a pas encore atteint sa taille adulte ou si son poil

s’épaissit en hiver.
b. Enlevez le collier-récepteur et coupez l'excédent.
c. Avant de remettre le collier-récepteur sur votre chien,

scellez le bord qui vient d'être coupé en passant une

flamme sur la partie effilochée.

Le collier-récepteur ne doit pas être porté plus de 12 heures par période de 24 heures.
Un port excessif du collier-récepteur risque d’entraîner une irritation de la peau. Reportez­vous à la section « Consignes de sécurité importantes » pour plus d’informations.

Pour connecter la télécommande portable et le collier-récepteur

Si votre collier-récepteur n’émet pas de bip sonore quand le bouton de signal sonore de la
télécommande portable est enfoncé ou si le collier-récepteur ne répond pas à la télécommande
portable, suivez les étapes ci-dessous pour les associer :

1. Commencez avec le collier-récepteur éteint et sans le placer sur le chien.

2. Appuyez sur l’interrupteur marche/arrêt et maintenez-le enfoncé jusqu’à ce
que la LED verte s’éteigne. Quand la LED verte s’éteint, relâchez l’interrupteur
marche/arrêt. La LED du collier-récepteur LED clignotera alors en vert.

3. Placez l’émetteur portatif en mode d’association en appuyant sur le bouton de
baisse de vibration (–) jusqu’à ce que l’écran numérique affiche la lettre « P ».

4. Appuyez simultanément sur les boutons de signal sonore et de vibration (la LED
orange devrait s’allumer) jusqu’à ce que la LED verte du collier-récepteur clignote 5
fois, indiquant qu’il a détecté l’ID de l’émetteur portatif.

5. Réglez le niveau sur Bas 1 en appuyant sur le bouton de hausse de vibration (+) de la télécommande
portable, puis appuyez sur le bouton de signal sonore. Le collier-récepteur émettra un signal sonore,
vérifiant qu’il est associé à la télécommande portable.

6. Si le collier-récepteur ne répond pas, veuillez contacter le Service clientèle.

Tester le système de dressage

Nous vous recommandons de découvrir par vous-même la manière dont le système de dressage
fonctionne. Commencez toujours au niveau d'intensité le plus faible et augmentez l'intensité jusqu'à
atteindre votre niveau de confort personnel.

1. Placez vos doigts sur les deux points de vibration du collier-récepteur.

2. Tenez la télécommande portable à environ 0,6mètre du collier-récepteur et appuyez sur le bouton
de hausse des vibrations (+) pour afficher le Niveau 1 sur l'écran numérique. Appuyez sur le bouton
de vibration (bleu). Il est possible, à ce niveau, que vous ne ressentiez pas la stimulation par vibration.

Remarque: un arrêt automatique se déclenchera pour des raisons de sécurité si vous appuyez sur
l'un des boutons de vibration pendant plus de 10 secondes. Une fois relâché, le bouton de vibration
se remet en fonctionnement normal.

3. Augmentez l'intensité jusqu'à ce que la sensation commence à être inconfortable.

Conseils

Introduction du système de dressage: introduisez le collier-récepteur PetSafe® lorsque votre
chien passe à l'âge adulte et comprend les ordres de base. Les colliers-récepteurs PetSafe

®

ne doivent

être utilisés qu'avec les chiens de plus de 6 mois.

Remarque: les autres animaux à portée d'oreille entendront les signaux de dressage. Les séances de
dressage doivent donc se dérouler hors de portée d'oreille d'autres animaux.

Éviter le phénomène du chien «habitué au collier»: essayez d'éviter que votre chien ne
s'habitue au collier et qu'il n'obéisse que lorsqu'il porte le collier-récepteur PetSafe

®

. De même, évitez
que votre chien n'apprenne à obéir que lorsqu'il voit l'émetteur portatif dans votre main. Ceci est facile à
éviter (voir «Restez le maître» dans la partie «Recommandations pour le dressage» ci-dessous).

Sessions de dressage et détermination des niveaux de stimulation: faites des séances
de dressage courtes et surveillez les réactions de votre chien, c'est lui qui vous dira quel niveau de
stimulation par vibration est approprié et quand relâcher le bouton. Consultez la section « Rechercher
le meilleur niveau de vibration pour votre animal » pour plus d'informations.

Éliminer les comportements indésirables: lorsque vous voulez éliminer les comportements
indésirables, il est conseillé d'utiliser les niveaux supérieurs de stimulation par vibration ; ainsi l'animal doit
être convaincu que ce sont ses actions inacceptables qui entraînent une sensation agaçante, et pas vous.

Les chiens apprennent d'abord un ordre: concentrez-vous sur l'apprentissage d'un ordre
avant de passer au suivant. Pour apprendre un ordre comme «ici», «au pied», «assis» ou «couché»,
de nombreux dresseurs recommandent d'utiliser des niveaux de stimulation par vibration bas. Le chien
apprend rapidement à supprimer ou éviter complètement la sensation désagréable.

Renforcer les ordres connus: pour renforcer des ordres connus du chien, il est suggéré d'utiliser
les niveaux de stimulation par vibration moyens. Ceci apprend au chien à respecter les instructions en
écoutant toujours et en obéissant.

Remarque: l'utilisation de compliments ou de friandises pour récompenser une bonne réponse est une
bonne méthode pour encourager votre chien, mais il est recommandé que vous (et les membres de votre
famille) conserviez toujours la position de maître du chien.

N'utilisez jamais le système de dressage pour corriger ou éliminer un
comportement agressif. Nous vous recommandons de contacter votre
vétérinaire ou un dresseur professionnel pour déterminer si votre chien
risque d'être agressif.

Dressage de votre chien avec la stimulation par signal sonore

Avant d'utiliser le système de dressage pour corriger le comportement de votre animal, passez entre 10
et 15 minutes par jour, pendant 2 ou 3 jours, à l'aider à faire le lien entre la stimulation par signal sonore
et la récompense. Pour cela :

1. Appuyez sur le bouton de signal sonore (vert) pendant 2 secondes consécutives.

2. Relâchez le bouton et récompensez immédiatement votre animal à l'aide de compliments, de
caresses ou d'une petite friandise. Passez 3 à 5 secondes à le récompenser.

3. Attendez quelques minutes et répétez l'opération: appuyez sur le bouton de signal sonore pendant 2
secondes puis complimentez votre chien.

Variez la récompense pour éviter que votre animal n'attende une récompense spécifique. Cette étape
du dressage est terminée lorsque votre animal attend visiblement d'obtenir une récompense lorsqu'il
entend le signal sonore.

Rechercher le meilleur niveau de vibration pour votre animal

Important : commencez toujours par le niveau le plus bas avant d'augmenter progressivement.
Le système de dressage comprend 8 niveaux de vibration bas et 8 niveaux de vibration hauts. Ceux-ci

vous permettent de rechercher le meilleur niveau de vibration pour votre animal.
Une fois que vous avez mis le collier-récepteur sur votre animal, il est temps de trouver le meilleur niveau

de vibration pour lui. Ce niveau est appelé « niveau de reconnaissance ».
Un changement subtil dans le comportement de votre animal (il peut regarder autour de lui avec curiosité,

gratter son collier ou bouger ses oreilles) indique le niveau de reconnaissance qui lui convient le mieux.
Suivez les étapes ci-dessous pour connaître le niveau de reconnaissance de votre animal :

1. En commençant au niveau 1 Bas sur l'écran numérique, appuyez sur le bouton de vibration (bleu) en
continu pendant 1 à 2 secondes. Remarque: Un arrêt automatique se déclenchera pour des raisons

de sécurité si le bouton est maintenu enfoncé pendant plus de 10 secondes consécutives. L’arrêt
automatique de sécurité est désactivé lorsque le bouton est relâché.

2. Si votre animal ne présente aucune réaction, répétez la vibration à ce même niveau plusieurs fois
avant de passer au niveau supérieur.

3. VOTRE ANIMAL NE DOIT PAS ABOYER NI GÉMIR OU PANIQUER À CAUSE DE LA
STIMULATION PAR VIBRATION. SI C'EST LE CAS, LE NIVEAU DE VIBRATION EST TROP ÉLEVÉ ET
VOUS DEVEZ LE BAISSER D'UN NIVEAU AVANT DE RENOUVELER L'OPÉRATION.

4. Augmentez les niveaux de vibration jusqu'à ce que votre animal réponde de manière fiable à ce niveau.

5. Si votre animal ne montre encore aucune réponse au niveau 8 Haut, vérifiez que le collier-récepteur
est bien ajusté. Si votre animal à des poils longs ou épais, vous devrez les couper autour des points
de vibration.

Ne rasez pas le cou de l'animal car cela peut augmenter le risque d'irritation de la peau.

Si, malgré toutes ces étapes, votre chien ne montre aucune réaction à la stimulation par vibration,

«Boost» +2

Si vous appuyer sur le bouton «Boost» +2 (rouge), vous envoyez un signal au collier-récepteur pour
qu'il émette une stimulation par vibration 2 niveaux au-dessus du niveau actuellement choisi. Par exemple,
si le niveau de vibration est réglé au Niveau 2 Bas et vous touchez le bouton « Boost » +2, la stimulation
s’effectuera au Niveau 4 Bas.

Remarque : le système ne peut pas dépasser le niveau de vibration 8 Haut.

Recommandations de dressage pour votre chien

Lorsque le dressage commence: le dressage commence au moment où vous amenez votre chiot à la
maison. Bien que votre chien ne soit pas prêt pour les produits PetSafe

®

tant qu’il n’a pas atteint un âge mûr,

vous devez commencer immédiatement un dressage de base.
Rester le Maître: empêchez votre chien de s'habituer au collier. Une solution simple appelée

«conditionnement avec le collier » vous aidera à empêcher le chien de n'écouter que lorsqu'il porte le collier­récepteur et de désobéir lorsqu'il ne le porte pas. Tout d'abord, placez le collier-récepteur sur votre chien. Ensuite,
sortez immédiatement avec le chien ou faites-lui faire quelque chose qu'il apprécie ; n'activez pas le collier­récepteur. Laissez le chien le porter pendant des séances sans dressage. Pour votre chien, le port du collier­récepteur peut aussi être synonyme d'amusement. Il ne doit pas être perçu comme une punition. Placez le collier­récepteur à différents moments pendant des périodes courtes ou plus longues pour que le port devienne normal
et habituel. De même, ne laissez pas votre chien apprendre à n'obéir que lorsqu'il voit la télécommande portable.
Prenez la télécommande portable avec vous mais ne l'utilisez pas tout le temps. Combien de temps prendra ce
processus ? Selon les dresseurs professionnels la durée varie entre quelques jours et deux semaines.

Se concentrer sur le chien: l'opinion des dresseurs professionnels varie sur plusieurs sujets, mais
tous les utilisateurs de systèmes de dressage recommandent fortement de regarder votre chien, et non la

• Bien que la stimulation par vibration soit désagréable,
elle est sans danger pour votre animal. Les systèmes de
dressage électroniques requièrent une interaction et une
implication du propriétaire dans l’éducation du chien pour
obtenir les résultats escomptés.

Quel âge doit avoir mon
chien pour pouvoir utiliser le
Système de dressage?

• Votre chien doit être capable de reconnaître les ordres
de base, comme « Assis » et « Pas bouger ». Ce système
ne doit être utilisé qu’avec des animaux âgés de plus de
6 mois. Il se peut que le collier-récepteur soit trop grand

Mon chien ne réagit
pas lorsque j'appuie
sur un bouton.

• Vérifiez que le collier-récepteur est bien allumé.

• Si la portée est moins importante que la première fois où vous
avez utilisé le Système de dressage, il se peut que les piles de la
télécommande portable ou du collier-récepteur soient déchargées.

• Plusieurs facteurs peuvent influer sur la portée du Système de
dressage. La liste de ces facteurs est disponible à la section
«Fonctionnement du système ».

• Augmentez le niveau de vibration. Consultez la section
«Rechercher le meilleur niveau de vibration pour votre animal »
pour plus d'informations.

• Vérifiez que les points de vibration du collier-récepteur sont bien
en contact avec la peau de votre animal. Consultez la section

• De PetSafe®-vibratietrainer met afstandsbediening is geen speelgoed. Buiten het

bereik van kinderen houden. Uitsluitend gebruiken voor trainingsdoeleinden.

• Veiligheid tijdens training aan de lijn. Het is zeer belangrijk dat u en uw hond veilig zijn

tijdens een training aan de lijn. Zorg dat uw hond aan een stevige riem zit, die lang genoeg is voor
de hond om te proberen achter iets aan te jagen, maar niet zo lang dat hij op de weg of in een
ander onveilig gebied kan geraken. U moet ook fysiek sterk genoeg zijn en de hond tegen kunnen
houden als hij probeert te jagen.

Risico op huidbeschadiging. Lees de instructies in deze handleiding door en volg deze op. Een
juiste pasvorm van de halsband is belangrijk. Wanneer een halsband te lang gedragen wordt of te strak
om de nek van de hond zit, kan deze beschadiging van de huid veroorzaken. Deze aandoening kan
variëren van roodheid tot drukzweren en is algemeen bekend als een doorligwond.

• Laat uw hond de halsband nooit langer dan 12 uur per dag dragen.

• Positioneer de halsband, indien mogelijk, elke 1 tot 2 uur anders om de nek van de hond.

• Controleer of de halsband goed past om overmatige druk te voorkomen; volg de instructies in
deze handleiding.

• Bevestig nooit een riem aan de elektronische halsband; dit zal overmatige druk op de
contactpunten veroorzaken.

• Als u een tweede halsband voor een riem gebruikt, zorg dan dat deze geen druk op de
elektronische halsband uitoefent.

• Maak de nek van de hond en de contactpunten van de halsband iedere week schoon met een
vochtige doek.

• Onderzoek het contactgebied dagelijks op tekenen van uitslag of wondjes.

• Indien er uitslag of een wond is, staak dan het gebruik van de halsband tot de huid is genezen.

• Als de aandoening langer dan 48 uur aanhoudt, moet u uw dierenarts raadplegen.

Deze stappen zullen helpen uw hond zich veilig en comfortabel te laten voelen. Sommige dieren
zijn gevoelig voor de druk van de contactpunten. Het kan zijn dat uw huisdier de halsband na enige
tijd goed verdraagt. Als dit het geval is, kunt u deze voorzorgen wat minder streng toepassen. Het is
belangrijk dat u het contactgebied dagelijks blijft controleren. Als u roodheid of wondjes opmerkt, staak
dan het gebruik tot de huid volledig genezen is.

Zo werkt het systeem

Nu kunt u ervaren wat een verschil een trainer met afstandsbediening kan maken. De PetSafe® VT-100
vibratietrainer met afstandsbediening helpt u bij het leiden van uw hond zonder riem, tot een bereik van
maximaal 100 meter. De trainer met afstandsbediening is comfortabel voor uw huisdier en eenvoudig te
gebruiken met 16 niveaus voor continue vibratiestimulatie (8 lage niveaus en 8 hoge niveaus). De vibratietrainer
met afstandsbediening heeft een geavanceerd digitaal beeldscherm dat u precies vertelt welke niveau van
vibratiestimulatie u gebruikt. De afstandsbediening stuurt een signaal waarmee de ontvangerhalsband wordt
geactiveerd. De vibratie wordt afgegeven door één van de twee vibratiepunten. Het gebruik van de trainer
met afstandsbediening is een geweldige manier om met uw hond te communiceren en kan uw hond alle

Ontvangerhalsband: geeft vibratie- of geluidssignaalstimulatie af na een signaal van de
afstandsbediening. De ontvangerhalsband is waterbestendig.

Aan/uit-knop: het tijdelijk ingedrukt houden
van deze knop schakelt de ontvangerhalsband
in en uit.

STAP 1

Klaarmaken van de afstandsbediening

De batterij plaatsen en verwijderen

1. Als u de batterij wilt verwijderen, gebruik dan een muntstuk en draai het batterijklepje naar links totdat het

rechterdriehoekje is uitgelijnd met het ontgrendelsymbool op de behuizing van de afstandsbediening (1A).

2. Plaats twee (2) 3V (CR2032) batterijen met de positieve (+) zijde omhoog gericht (1B).

3. Als u het batterijklepje wilt terugplaatsen, lijn dan dan het rechterdriehoekje uit met het ontgrendelsymbool,

druk het klepje omlaag en draai het naar rechts(1C) zodat het rechterdriehoekje wordt uitgelijnd met het
vergrendelsymbool op de behuizing van de afstandsbediening.

Controleren of de batterijen goed zijn geplaatst

1. Druk op een van de knoppen op de afstandsbediening.

2. Het digitale beeldscherm wordt geactiveerd en toont het actuele stimulatieniveau.

3. Als het digitale beeldscherm niet wordt geactiveerd, heeft u de batterijen waarschijnlijk verkeerd om
geplaatst. Verwijder de batterijen en draai ze om; zorg dat de positieve (+) zijde omhoog is gericht.

4. Als het digitale beeldscherm nog niet wordt geactiveerd, neem dan contact op met de klantenservice.

Explosiegevaar als de batterijen worden vervangen door een onjuist type
batterij. Voorkom dat batterijen kortsluiting maken, worden blootgesteld aan
vuur of water, of dat oude en nieuwe batterijen gezamenlijk worden gebruikt.
Wanneer u batterijen bewaart of weggooit, moeten deze worden beveiligd
tegen kortsluiting. Verwerk gebruikte batterijen op een correcte manier.

Digitaal beeldscherm van afstandsbediening

Het digitale beeldscherm blijft ongeveer 30seconden ingeschakeld nadat u op een knop hebt gedrukt. Als
er gedurende 30seconden geen knop meer is ingedrukt, wordt het beeldscherm uitgeschakeld en gaat de
afstandsbediening over op de spaarstand. Het digitale beeldscherm wordt weer ingeschakeld door op een
willekeurige knop te drukken. De symbolen op het beeldscherm worden hieronder uitgelegd.

L geeft lage vibratieniveaus aan, variërend van 1-8; verschijnt in het hoek linksonder vóór de
batterij-indicator.

H geeft hoge vibratieniveaus aan, variërend van 1-8; verschijnt in het hoek rechtsonder vóór de
batterij-indicator.

Het controlelicht van de batterij geeft continu aan hoeveel vermogen er nog in de batterij aanwezig
is. Verdeeld in segmenten, 3 segmenten geven hoog batterijvermogen aan, 2segmenten geven een
medium batterijvermogen aan, 1segment geeft een laag batterijvermogen aan (binnenkort vervangen)
en geen segmenten geeft een kritiek batterijvermogen aan (onmiddellijk vervangen). Opmerking: het

rode ledlampje knippert om de vijf seconden driekeer om aan te geven dat de batterij bijna leeg is.

Geeft aan dat de afstandsbediening gereed is voor synchronisatie met de ontvangerhalsband. Druk op de
knop Vibratie omlaag (–) door de vibratieniveaus om te synchronisatie weer te geven en te beginnen.

STAP 2

Klaarmaken van de ontvangerhalsband

De batterijen plaatsen en verwijderen

1. Verwijder de schroeven met een kleine
kruiskopschroevendraaier, gebruik voldoende druk
zodat de kop van de schroevendraaier goed in de
schroef past. Verwijder het batterijklepje(2A).

2. Plaats één (1) 3V (CR2) batterij, zoals wordt
getoond(2B). Plaats het batterijklepje terug
in de ontvangerhalsband. Opmerking: zorg

elke keer dat u het batterijklepje terugplaatst
dat de pakking op de binnenrand van het
batterijklepje intact is.

3. Plaats de schroeven terug. Draai de schroeven
niet te strak aan.

Vervangende batterijen vindt u bij vele winkels. Neem
contact op met de klantenservice of ga naar onze website op www.petsafe.net voor een lijst van verkopers.

Explosiegevaar als de batterijen worden vervangen door een onjuist type batterij.
Voorkom dat batterijen kortsluiting maken, worden blootgesteld aan vuur of water, of

De ontvangerhalsband aanzetten

1. Houd de aan/uit-knop ingedrukt totdat de eenheid een pieptoon laat horen en het groene ledlampje gaat
branden. (Dit duurt ongeveer éénseconde.)

2. Laat de aan/uit-knop los. Het groene ledlampje gaat om de vijfseconden knippert; dit geeft aan dat de
ontvangerhalsband is ingeschakeld en klaar is om een signaal van de afstandsbediening te ontvangen.

De ontvangerhalsband uitzetten

1. Houd de aan/uit-knop ingedrukt totdat de eenheid een pieptoon laat horen en het ledlampje uitgaat. (Dit
duurt ongeveer 3seconden.)

2. Laat de aan/uit-knop los. Opmerking: als u de levensduur van de batterij wilt verlengen, zet u de

ontvangerhalsband uit als deze niet in gebruik is.

Belangrijk: als de ontvangerhalsband continu ingeschakeld blijft, is de maximale levensduur van de batterij
tweeweken.

STAP 3

De ontvangerhalsband pasklaar maken

Belangrijk: een correcte pasvorm en plaatsing van de ontvangerhalsband is
van belang voor een effectieve training. De vibratiepunten moeten direct in contact
komen met de huid van uw hond aan de onderzijde van de nek.

Volg de onderstaande stappen om de pasvorm van de halsband aan te passen:

1. Controleer of de ontvangerhalsband uit staat.

2. Start met uw hond in een comfortabele staande houding (3A).

3. Plaats de ontvangerhalsband rond de nek van de hond,
vlakbij de oren. Centreer de vibratiepunten onder de nek
van uw hond en zorg dat deze punten de huid raken(3B).

Opmerking: soms moet het haar rond de vibratiepunten
worden weggeschoren om te zorgen dat er voortdurend
contact is.

Scheer de nek van de hond niet want dat vergroot de kans op huidirritatie.

4.

Controleer de hoe strak de ontvangerhalsband zit door één
vinger tussen de halsband en de hals van uw hond te steken
(3C). De halsband moet redelijk strak zijn, maar mag de hond
niet verstikken.

5. Laat uw hond de ontvangerhalsband een paar minuten dragen
en controleer de pasvorm dan nog een keer. Controleer de
pasvorm na een tijdje nogmaals, als uw hond gewend raakt
aan de ontvangerhalsband.

6. Snij de halsband als volgt op maat: (3D)

a. Markeer de gewenste lengte van de halsband met een pen.

Laat voldoende ruimte voor groei wanneer uw hond nog
jong is of een dikke wintervacht heeft.

b. Maak de ontvangerhalsband los en knip het gedeelte dat

te lang is af.

c. Voordat u de ontvangerhalsband weer omdoet bij uw hond,

dient u de rand waar u de halsband hebt afgeknipt af te
dichten door met een vlam langs de gerafelde rand te gaan.

Laat de hond de ontvangerhalsband nooit langer dan 12 uur per 24 uur dragen. Als
u de ontvangerhalsband te lang om laat, kan dit leiden tot huidirritatie. Raadpleeg
het hoofdstuk “Belangrijke veiligheidsinformatie” voor aanvullende informatie.

De schuifgesp verstellen

De schuifgesp voorkomt dat de halsband los komt te
zitten rond de hals van de hond.

Als uw ontvangerhalsband geen pieptoon laat horen wanneer de geluidssignaalknop op de
afstandsbediening wordt ingedrukt of als de ontvangerhalsband niet reageert op de afstandsbediening,
dient u de volgende stappen te volgen om te kunnen synchroniseren:

1. Begin als u de ontvangerhalsband nog niet bij uw huisdier hebt omgedaan en als
de halsband is uitgeschakeld.

2. Houd de aan/uit-knop ingedrukt totdat het groene ledlampje wordt
uitgeschakeld. Wanneer het groene ledlampje is uitgeschakeld, laat u de aan/
uit-knop los en gaat het ledlampje van de ontvangerhalsband groen knipperen.

3. Zet de afstandsbediening in de synchronisatiemodus door op de

knop Vibratie

omlaag (–)

te drukken totdat “P” op het digitale beeldscherm verschijnt.

4. Druk de geluidssignaal- en vibratieknoppen gelijktijdig in (het oranje ledlampje moet
branden) totdat de ontvangerhalsband het groene ledlampje vijfkeer laat knipperen;
hiermee wordt aangegeven dat de id van de afstandsbediening door de halsband is geprogrammeerd.

5. Wijzig het niveau naar 1 Laag door op de knop Vibration omhoog (+) op de afstandsbediening te
drukken en vervolgens op de geluidssignaalknop. De ontvangerhalsband geeft een geluidssignaal af en
controleert of de halsband is gesynchroniseerd met de afstandsbediening.

6. Als de ontvangerhalsband niet reageert, neemt u contact op met de klantenservice.

TRAININGSHANDLEIDING

De trainer met afstandsbediening testen

Wij willen graag dat u zelf ervaart hoe de PetSafe trainer met afstandsbediening werkt. Begin altijd op
het laagste niveau en verhoog de intensiteit tot het niveau waar u zich het meest comfortabel bij voelt.

1. Plaats uw vingers op beide vibratiepunten van de ontvangerhalsband.

2. Houd de afstandsbediening ongeveer 0,6meter van de ontvangerhalsband en druk op de knop
Vibratie omhoog om Niveau 1 op het digitale beeldscherm weer te geven. Druk op de Vibratieknop
(blauw). Bij dit niveau voelt u de vibratiestimulatie mogelijk niet.

Opmerking: Er volgt een automatische veiligheidsonderbreking als een vibratieknop langer dan
10seconden wordt ingedrukt. Zodra de vibratieknop wordt losgelaten, keert deze terug naar de
normale functionaliteit.

3. Verhoog de intensiteit totdat het ongemakkelijk begint aan te voelen.

Algemene tips

Beginnen met de trainer met afstandsbediening: Begin met uw PetSafe® ontvangerhalsband
wanneer uw hond is geslaagd voor zijn puppytraining en de basale gehoorzaamheidscommando's
begrijpt. Ontvangerhalsbanden van PetSafe

®

mogen alleen worden gebruikt bij honden die ouder zijn

dan 6 maanden.

Opmerking: andere huisdieren binnen gehoorafstand kunnen de trainingstonen ook horen. Daarom
moeten trainingssessies buiten gehoorafstand van andere huisdieren worden gehouden.

Een "halsbandslimme" hond voorkomen: probeer te voorkomen dat uw hond een "halsbandslimme"
hond wordt, die alleen gehoorzaamt als hij de ontvangerhalsband van PetSafe

®

draagt. Vermijd ook dat
de hond alleen leert gehoorzamen als hij u met de afstandsbediening in uw hand ziet. Dit is gemakkelijk te
voorkomen (zie '''De leider blijven'' in het volgende hoofdstuk "Aanbevelingen voor hondentraining").

Trainingssessies en stimulatieniveaus bepalen: houd de trainingssessies kort en observeer
hoe uw hond reageert - uw huisdier laat zien welk niveau van vibratiestimulatie geschikt is om te
gebruiken en wanneer u de knop moet loslaten. Raadpleeg de paragraaf “Het beste vibratieniveau
voor uw hond vinden” voor meer informatie.

Ongewenst gedrag stoppen: wij adviseren bij het stoppen van ongewenst gedrag
hogere niveaus van vibratiestimulatie te gebruiken; het huisdier moet ervan overtuigd zijn dat zijn
onaanvaardbare acties (en niet u) dat vervelende gevoel veroorzaakt hebben.

Eerst één commando leren: concentreer u op het leren van één commando voordat u verdergaat
met het volgende. Veel trainers adviseren bij het leren van een commando als “achter”, “hier", “zit” of
“lig” lage niveaus van vibratiestimulatie te gebruiken. De hond leert snel hoe hij het vervelende gevoel
kan laten verdwijnen of helemaal kan voorkomen.

Bekende commando's versterken: om commando's te versterken die de hond al kent, adviseren
wij het gebruik van een matig niveau van vibratiestimulatie. Zo leert de hond uw aanwijzingen te
respecteren door altijd te luisteren en te gehoorzamen.

Opmerking: het geven van complimentjes of iets lekkers om de hond te belonen voor de correcte
respons is goed om de hond aan te moedigen, maar u of uw gezinsleden moeten wel altijd de leider
van de hond blijven.

Gebruik de trainer met afstandsbediening nooit om agressief gedrag
te corrigeren of te elimineren. Wij raden u aan om met uw plaatselijke
dierenarts of professionele trainer contact op te nemen om vast te stellen
of uw huisdier agressief is.

Uw huisdier trainen met geluidsstimulans

Voordat u de trainer met afstandsbediening gaat gebruiken om uw hond te corrigeren, adviseren wij u
om 10 tot 15 minuten per dag gedurende 2 of 3 dagen met hem te oefenen om het verband te leggen
tussen geluidsstimulans en beloning en complimentjes. U bereikt dit als volgt:

1. Druk 2seconden lang op de geluidssignaalknop (groen).

2. Laat de knop los en beloon uw hond onmiddellijk met complimentjes, aaien of iets lekkers. Besteed 3
tot 5 seconden aan het belonen.

3. Wacht een paar minuten en herhaal het indrukken van de geluidssignaalknop gedurende 2
seconden gevolgd door beloning.

Wissel de beloning af om te voorkomen dat uw huisdier een specifieke beloning verwacht. Dit
trainingsstadium is afgerond wanneer uw hond duidelijk een beloning verwacht wanneer hij het
geluidssignaal hoort.

Het beste vibratieniveau vinden voor uw huisdier

Belangrijk: start altijd op het laagste stimulatieniveau en verhoog de intensiteit.
De trainer met afstandsbediening heeft 8 Lage en 8 Hoge vibratieniveaus. Hiermee kunt u het meest

geschikte vibratieniveau voor uw hond kiezen.
Nadat u de ontvangerhalsband bij uw hond hebt omgedaan, is het tijd om het meest geschikte

vibratieniveau te vinden. Dit wordt het herkenningsniveau genoemd.
Een kleine verandering in het gedrag van uw hond, zoals nieuwsgierig rondkijken, aan de halsband

krabben of schudden met zijn oren, geeft het erkenningsniveau aan dat voor het het meest geschikt is.
Volg de onderstaande stappen om het herkenningsniveau van uw hond te vinden:

1. Begin op Niveau 1 Laag op het digitale beeldscherm, houd de vibratieknop gedurende 1 tot 2
seconden ingedrukt. Opmerking: er volgt een veiligheidsonderbreking als de knop langer dan

10seconden wordt ingedrukt. De veiligheidsonderbreking eindigt wanneer de knop wordt losgelaten.

2. Als uw hond geen reactie geeft, herhaalt u het vibratieniveau nog een paar keer voordat u naar
het volgende niveau gaat.

3. UW HOND MAG TIJDENS DE VIBRATIESTIMULATIE NIET GAAN BLAFFEN OF IN PANIEK
RAKEN. GEBEURT DIT TOCH, DAN LIGT HET NIVEAU TE HOOG EN MOET U NAAR HET
VORIGE NIVEAU TERUGKEREN EN DE PROCEDURE HERHALEN.

4. Ga omhoog in de vibratieniveaus totdat uw huisdier goed op dat niveau reageert.

5. Als uw hond nog altijd niet reageert op niveau 8 Hoog, controleer dan of de ontvangerhalsband
goed past. Als uw huisdier lang of dik haar heeft, moet dit wellicht rond de vibratiepunten worden
weggeschoren.

Scheer de nek van de hond niet want dat vergroot de kans op huidirritatie.

Als uw hond na deze stappen nog steeds niet aangeeft dat hij de vibratiestimulatie voelt, neemt u contact
op met de klantenservice of bezoekt u onze website op www.petsafe.net.

+2 Boost

Een druk op de +2 Boost-knop (rood) stuurt een signaal naar de ontvangerhalsband om vibratiestimulatie
af te geven die 2 niveaus hoger ligt dan het momenteel geselecteerde niveau. Als het vibratieniveau
bijvoorbeeld is ingesteld op Niveau 2 Laag, dan is een druk op de +2 Boost-knop voldoende voor
stimulatie op Niveau 4 Laag. Opmerking: het systeem kan het vibratieniveau 8 Hoog niet overschrijden.

Aanbevelingen voor de training van uw hond

Wanneer begint u met trainen: de training begint vanaf het moment dat u met een puppy thuis
komt. Hoewel uw hond nog niet groot genoeg is voor de producten van PetSafe

®

, moet u onmiddellijk

beginnen met de basistraining.
Blijf de leider: laat uw hond niet "halsbandbewust" worden. Een gemakkelijke oplossing voor een

toestand die ook wel "halsbandgewenning" wordt genoemd, helpt u om te voorkomen dat de hond
alleen luistert als hij de ontvanger om heeft en ongehoorzaam is als hij die niet draagt. Maak eerst
de halsbandontvanger pasklaar voor uw hond. Vervolgens neemt u de hond onmiddellijk mee naar
buiten of gaat u iets leuks met hem doen; u activeert de halsbandontvanger nog niet. Laat de hond de
ontvanger dragen tijdens sessies waarbij niet getraind wordt. Uw hond moet geloven dat het dragen
van de halsbandontvanger ook hoort bij plezier maken. De halsband moet niet worden ervaren als straf.
Doe de halsbandontvanger aan en af op een aantal tijdstippen, voor langere en kortere tijd, zodat het
dragen een kwestie van routine wordt voor de hond. Vermijd ook dat de hond alleen leert gehoorzamen
als hij de afstandsbediening ziet. Neem de afstandsbediening mee, maar gebruikt hem niet voortdurend.
Hoe lang deze procedure duurt? Volgens professionele trainers een aantal dagen tot een paar weken.

Richt uw aandacht op de hond: de meningen van professionele trainers lopen op bepaalde
punten uiteen, maar alle gebruikers van trainingssystemen met afstandsbediening zij het erover eens dat
u tijdens de training uw hond en niet de afstandsbediening in de gaten moet houden. Producten van

Is de vibratiestimulatie veilig
voor mijn hond?

• Hoewel de vibratiestimulatie onplezierig is, is dit niet
schadelijk voor uw hond. Elektronische trainingsapparatuur
vereist interactie en training van de eigenaar om het
gewenste resultaat te bereiken.

Hoe oud moet mijn hond
zijn voor het gebruik
van de trainer met
afstandsbediening?

• Uw hond moet de basale gehoorzaamheidscommando's
zoals “zit” of “blijf” kunnen leren. Huisdieren moeten
tenminste 6 maanden oud zijn voor het gebruik de trainer
met afstandsbediening. De ontvanger halsband kan te
groot zijn voor honden die minder dan 3,6 kg wegen.

• Als het bereik is afgenomen sinds u de trainer met

afstandsbediening of de ontvangerhalsband misschien bijna leeg.

• Vele factoren zijn van invloed op het bereik van de trainer met
afstandsbediening. Voor een lijst van deze factoren kunt u het
hoofdstuk "Zo werkt het systeem" raadplegen.

• Verhoog het vibratieniveau. Raadpleeg “Het beste vibratieniveau
voor uw hond vinden” voor meer informatie.

• Zorg ervoor dat de vibratiepunten van de ontvangerhalsband
licht tegen de huid van uw huisdier zijn geplaatst. Zie "De
ontvangerhalsband pasklaar maken" voor meer informatie.

De ontvangerhalsband
schakelt niet in.

• Controleer dat één (1) 3V (CR2) batterij goed is geplaatst. Zie
“De batterij plaatsen en verwijderen”.

De ontvangerhalsband
reageert niet op de
afstandsbediening.

• Controleer of de ontvangerhalsband is ingeschakeld.

• Als het LED niet gaat branden wanneer u op een knop op
de afstandsbediening drukt, zorg dan dat de batterijen goed

Wegwerpen van batterijen

In veel regio's is gescheiden inzameling van gebruikte batterijen verplicht; vraag naar de regelgeving in uw
regio voordat u gebruikte batterijen weggooit. Aan het einde van de gebruiksduur verzoeken wij u contact

• Cuando se utilice un collar independiente para fijar un correa, compruebe que no causa presión
sobre el collar electrónico.

• Lave semanalmente la zona del cuello del perro y los contactos del collar con un paño húmedo.

• Examine diariamente el área de contacto en busca de signos de sarpullidos o irritación.

• Si observa sarpullidos o irritación, deje de utilizar el collar hasta que la piel cicatrice.

Ahora puede notar la diferencia con un sistema de adiestramiento. El sistema de adiestramiento con vibración
VT-100 de PetSafe

®

le ayuda a supervisar a su mascota sin correa en un ámbito de hasta 100 metros. El sistema
de adiestramiento es cómodo para su mascota y fácil de usar, con 16 niveles de estimulación por vibración
continua (8 niveles bajos y 8 niveles altos). Los sistemas de Adiestramiento con vibración tiene una pantalla
digital avanzada que le indica exactamente el nivel de estimulación que está utilizando. El mando remoto

PASO 1

Preparar el mando remoto

Para instalar y extraer la pila

1. Para extraerla, utilice una moneda y gire la tapa de la pila a la izquierda hasta que el triángulo derecho se

alinee con el símbolo de desbloquear de la carcasa del mando remoto (1A).

2. Instale dos (2) pilas (CR2032) de 3 voltios con el lado positivo (+) hacia arriba (1B).

3. Para volver a colocar la tapa de la pila, alinee el triángulo derecho con el símbolo de desbloquear,

presione hacia abajo y gire la tapa a la derecha (1C) hasta que el triángulo derecho se alinee con el
símbolo de desbloquear de la carcasa del mando remoto.

Para comprobar que ha instalado las pilas de forma correcta

1. Pulse un botón cualquiera en el mando remoto.

2. La pantalla digital se activará y mostrará el nivel de estimulación actual.

3. Si la pantalla digital no se activa, quizá haya instalado las pilas al revés. Sáquelas y gírelas de

nuevo de modo que el lado (+) esté hacia arriba.

4. Si la pantalla digital sigue sin activarse, póngase en contacto con el Centro de atención al cliente.

Existe riesgo de explosión si esta pila se sustituye por una de tipo incorrecto.
No provoque cortocircuitos, no mezcle pilas viejas y nuevas, y no las deseche
echándolas al fuego ni las exponga al agua. Cuando las pilas se guarden
o se desechen, deben estar protegidas, para que no sufran cortocircuitos.
Deseche las pilas adecuadamente.

Pantalla digital del mando remoto

La pantalla digital permanece encendida aproximadamente 30 segundos después de pulsar un botón. Al cabo de
30 segundos sin pulsar otro botón, la pantalla se apagará y el mando remoto entrará en el modo de conservación
de batería. Si pulsa cualquier botón, se volverá a encender la pantalla digital. A continuación se explican los distintos
símbolos de la pantalla.

L indica niveles de vibración bajos que van del 1 al 8, y aparece en la esquina inferior
izquierda antes del indicador de la pila.

H indica niveles de vibración altos que van del 1 al 8, y aparece en la esquina inferior
derecha después del indicador de la pila.

El indicador de carga de la pila facilita una percepción constante de su nivel de carga. Se
divide en segmentos: 3 segmentos indican batería con mucha carga, 2 segmentos indican
carga media, 1 segmento indica carga baja (sustituir pronto) y la ausencia de segmentos
indica muy baja (sustituir inmediatamente). Nota: el indicador luminoso LED parpadeará 3

veces cada 5 segundos para indicar batería con poca carga.

Indica que el mando remoto está listo para emparejarse con el collar receptor. Pulse el botón
Vibración abajo (–) en los niveles de vibración para mostrar e iniciar el emparejamiento.

PASO 2

Preparar el collar receptor

Para instalar y extraer las pilas

1. Extraiga los tornillos con un destornillador Phillips

pequeño, aplicando la presión adecuada para
que la cabeza del destornillador encaje de
forma ajustada en el tornillo. Extraiga la tapa de
la pila (2A).

2. Instale una (1) pila (CR2) de 3 voltios como

se muestra (2B). Coloque la tapa de la pila
de nuevo en el collar receptor. Nota: la

junta del borde interior de la tapa de la pila
debe quedar intacta cada vez que vuelva a
colocarla.

3. Vuelva a instalar los tornillos. No los apriete

excesivamente.

Podrá encontrar pilas de repuesto en muchas tiendas minoristas. Póngase en contacto con el Centro de atención al
cliente o visite nuestro sitio web www.petsafe.net para ver una lista de tiendas minoristas comunes.

2. Suelte el botón de encendido/apagado. El indicador luminoso LED verde parpadeará una vez cada 5

segundos, indicando que el collar receptor está encendido y listo para recibir una señal del mando remoto.

Para apagar el collar receptor

1. Mantenga pulsado el botón de encendido/apagado hasta que la unidad emita pitidos y se apague el

indicador luminoso LED. (Esto tarda aproximadamente 3 segundos.)

2. Suelte el botón de encendido/apagado. Nota: para ampliar la duración de las pilas, apague el collar

receptor cuando no lo esté usando.

Importante: si se deja encendido continuamente el collar receptor, la duración máxima de la pila será de
dos semanas.

PASO 3

Colocar el collar receptor

Importante: el ajuste y la colocación adecuados del collar receptor son
importantes para un adiestramiento eficaz. Los puntos de contacto deben hacer
contacto directamente con la piel del perro, en la parte inferior del cuello.

Para ajustarlo bien, siga estos pasos:

1. Asegúrese de que el collar receptor esté apagado.

2. Empiece haciendo que el perro se mantenga de pie de

forma cómoda (3A).

3. Coloque el collar receptor en el cuello del perro, cerca
de las orejas. Centre los puntos de contacto bajo el cuello
del perro, tocando la piel (3B). Nota: a veces hay que

recortar el pelo del perro en la zona que rodea los puntos
de contacto para que estén siempre en contacto con la piel.

No afeite el cuello de la mascota, ya que puede aumentar el riesgo de irritación cutánea.

Compruebe el apriete del collar receptor introduciendo un
dedo entre el collar y el cuello del perro (3C). El ajuste debe
ser firme pero no constrictor.

5. Deje que el perro lleve el collar receptor durante unos
minutos y luego vuelva a comprobar el ajuste. Vuelva a
comprobar el ajuste a medida que el perro se encuentre
más cómodo con el collar receptor.

6. Recorte el collar como se indica a continuación: (3D)

a. Marque la longitud deseada del collar con un bolígrafo.

Deje suficiente margen de crecimiento si su perro es joven
o tiene pelaje grueso en invierno.

b. Retire el collar receptor del perro y recorte el tramo

sobrante.

c. Antes de colocar de nuevo el collar receptor al perro,

selle con una llama el borde deshilachado del extremo
cortado del collar.

No debe llevar el collar receptor más de 12 horas en cada periodo de 24 horas. Si
deja el collar receptor demasiado tiempo, puede irritar la piel. Consulte la sección
“Información de Seguridad Importante” para ver información adicional.

Para atar el collar

La hebilla deslizante evita que el collar se afloje en el
cuello de la mascota.

Los pliegues deben estar orientados hacia arriba; el
collar se deslizará si no se pasa correctamente por la
hebilla.

PASO 4

Emparejar el mando remoto y el collar receptor

Si su collar receptor no pita cuando pulsa el botón Señal acústica del mando remoto, o si el collar
receptor no está respondiendo al mando remoto, siga estos pasos para emparejarlos:

1. Quítele el collar receptor a la mascota y apáguelo.

2. Mantenga pulsado el botón de encendido/apagado hasta que se apague
el indicador luminoso LED verde. Cuando se apague, suelte el botón de
encendido/apagado y el indicador luminoso LED del collar receptor
parpadeará en verde.

3. Coloque el mando remoto en el modo de emparejamiento pulsando el botón
Vibración abajo (–)

hasta que la pantalla digital muestre “P”.

4. Pulse los botones Señal acústica y Vibración simultáneamente (el indicador luminoso
LED naranja se encenderá) hasta que el collar receptor haga parpadear el indicador
luminoso LED verde 5 veces, indicando que ha memorizado el identificador del mando remoto.

5. Cambie el nivel a 1 Bajo pulsando el botón Vibración arriba (+) en el mando remoto y después pulse el
botón Señal acústica. El collar receptor emitirá una señal acústica, comprobando que está emparejado
con el mando remoto.

6. Si el collar receptor no responde, contacte con el Centro de atención al cliente.

MANUAL DE ADIESTRAMIENTO

Probar el sistema de adiestramiento

Recomendamos que experimente de primera mano cómo funciona el sistema de adiestramiento.
Empiece siempre en el nivel inferior y aumente la intensidad hasta su nivel de comodidad personal.

1. Coloque los dedos en ambos puntos de vibración del collar receptor.

2. Sostenga el mando remoto a aproximadamente 0,6 metros del collar receptor y pulse el botón de
vibración arriba (+) para que aparezca el nivel 1 en la pantalla digital. Pulse el botón Vibración
(azul). En este nivel quizá no sienta la estimulación por vibración.

Nota: cuando se mantiene pulsado un botón de vibración durante más de 10 segundos, se activará
la desconexión de seguridad automática. Cuando lo suelte, el botón de vibración volverá al
funcionamiento normal.

3. Aumente la intensidad hasta que la sensación empiece a parecer incómoda.

Consejos

Introducción del sistema de adiestramiento: introduzca el collar receptor PetSafe® cuando su
perro pase de la etapa de cachorro y entienda órdenes básicas de obediencia. Los collares receptores
PetSafe

®

solo deben utilizarse con mascotas de más de 6 meses de edad.

Nota: otras mascotas en el alcance de escucha pueden verse afectadas por las señales acústicas
de adiestramiento. Por lo tanto, las sesiones de adiestramiento deben realizarse fuera del alcance de
escucha de otras mascotas.

Cómo evitar que el perro “controle” el funcionamiento del collar: intente evitar que su
perro dependa del collar y solo obedezca cuando lleve el collar receptor PetSafe

®

. Igualmente, evite
que el perro aprenda a obedecer solo cuando vea en su mano el mando remoto. Esto es fácil de
evitar (consulte el apartado “Siga siendo el líder” en la sección siguiente “Recomendaciones sobre el
adiestramiento del perro”).

Sesiones de adiestramiento y determinación de los niveles de estimulación: sus
sesiones de adiestramiento deben ser breves y debe observar la reacción del perro, que le indicará
el nivel de estimulación por vibración apropiado y cuándo soltar el botón. Consulte “Encontrar el
mejor nivel de vibración para su mascota” para más información.

Eliminación de un comportamiento no deseado: para detener el comportamiento indeseado
se sugiere utilizar mayores niveles de estimulación por vibración; la mascota estará convencida de que
sus acciones inaceptables (no usted) provocaron la sensación molesta.

Los perros aprenden las órdenes de una en una: céntrese en el aprendizaje de una orden
antes de avanzar a otra. Cuando enseña una orden como “junto”, “ven”, “sentado” o “échate”, muchos
adiestradores recomiendan utilizar niveles bajos de estimulación por vibración. El perro aprende
rápidamente a eliminar o evitar completamente la sensación desagradable.

Cómo reforzar las órdenes aprendidas: para reforzar órdenes que ya conoce el perro, se
sugiere utilizar los niveles medios de estimulación por vibración. Así se enseña al perro a respetar las
instrucciones escuchando y obedeciendo siempre.

Nota: el uso de elogios y golosinas con el fin de recompensar una respuesta correcta es excelente
para animar al perro, pero se recomienda que tanto usted como los miembros de su familia no dejen
de ser nunca el líder del perro.

No use nunca el sistema de adiestramiento para corregir o eliminar
alguna forma de comportamiento agresivo. Recomendamos que se ponga
en contacto con su veterinario local o un adiestrador profesional para
determinar si su mascota podría ser agresiva.

Adiestramiento de su mascota con estimulación mediante
señal acústica

Antes de utilizar el sistema de adiestramiento para corregir a la mascota, dedique de 10 a 15 minutos
al día durante 2 o 3 días ayudándole a crear la asociación de la estimulación mediante señal acústica
con la recompensa y elogio. Para ello:

1. Pulse el botón Señal acústica (verde) durante 2 segundos consecutivos.

2. Suelte el botón y recompense de inmediato al perro con un elogio verbal, una caricia o una
pequeña recompensa de comida. Dedique de 3 a 5 segundos a recompensarle.

3. Espere unos minutos y repítalo manteniendo pulsado el botón Señal acústica durante 2 segundos
seguidos de un elogio.

Varíe la recompensa para evitar que la mascota se anticipe a un tipo concreto. Esta etapa del
adiestramiento habrá finalizado cuando su mascota espere obviamente una recompensa al escuchar la
señal acústica.

Cómo determinar el nivel de vibración más apropiado para
su mascota

Importante: empiece siempre en el nivel más bajo y después vaya subiéndolo.
El sistema de adiestramiento tiene 8 niveles de vibración bajos y 8 altos. Esto permite elegir el nivel de

vibración que sea mejor para su mascota.
Una vez que haya colocado el collar receptor a la mascota, es el momento de buscar el nivel de

vibración que mejor le convenga. Esto se denomina Nivel de respuesta.
Un pequeño cambio en el comportamiento de la mascota, como mirar curioso alrededor, rascarse el

collar o sacudir las orejas indica el nivel de respuesta que le conviene.
Para determinar el nivel de respuesta de su mascota, siga los pasos que se describen a continuación:

1. Empiece en el nivel 1 bajo de la pantalla digital y pulse el botón Vibración (azul) de forma continua
durante 1 o 2 segundos. Nota: cuando se mantiene pulsado el botón durante más de 10 segundos, se

activará la desconexión de seguridad automática. Permanecerá desconectada hasta soltar el botón.

2. Si la mascota no muestra reacción, repita el mismo nivel de vibración varias veces antes de
avanzar al siguiente nivel.

3. SU MASCOTA NO DEBE LADRAR MUCHO NI ASUSTARSE CUANDO RECIBA LA
ESTIMULACIÓN POR VIBRACIÓN. SI ESTO OCURRE, EL NIVEL ES DEMASIADO ALTO Y ES
NECESARIO QUE VUELVA AL NIVEL ANTERIOR Y REPITA EL PROCESO.

4. Avance en los niveles de vibración hasta que la mascota responda de forma fiable a ese nivel.

Recomendaciones sobre el adiestramiento del perro

Cuándo comienza el adiestramiento: el adiestramiento comienza en el momento en que usted
trae al cachorro a su hogar. Aunque el perro no estará listo para los productos PetSafe® hasta que haya
madurado, debe empezar el adiestramiento básico de inmediato.

Siga siendo el líder: impida que su perro llegue a “controlar” el collar. Una solución fácil conocida como
“Acondicionamiento con collar” le ayudará a evitar que el perro solo escuche cuando lleve el collar receptor
y desobedezca cuando no lo lleve. Primero coloque el collar receptor al perro. En segundo lugar, saque de
inmediato al perro o haga algo que le guste; no active el collar receptor. El perro debe llevarlo durante las
sesiones que no sean de adiestramiento. El perro debe creer que llevar el collar receptor también puede

adiestramiento por parte del propietario para conseguir

¿Qué edad ha de tener mi
mascota antes de usar el

• Su mascota debe poder reconocer órdenes básicas de

• Asegúrese de que el collar receptor esté encendido.

• Si el alcance se ha reducido desde la primera vez que usó el
sistema de adiestramiento, la pila del mando remoto o del collar
receptor puede estar con poca carga, o las dos.

• Muchos factores pueden influir en el alcance que tenga con el
sistema de adiestramiento. Consulte “Cómo funciona el sistema”

• Aumente el nivel de vibración. Consulte “Encontrar el mejor nivel de
