Gebrauchsanleitung für den Petromax Hobo-Kocher bk1
Vielen Dank, dass du dich für den Petromax Hobo-Kocher bk1 entschieden hast. Wir
sind überzeugt, dass du viel Freude an deinem Petromax bk1 haben wirst und hoffen,
dass er deine Draußen-Aktivitäten und Touren durch Wald, Wiesen und Wildnis noch
erlebnis reicher macht. Der Pet romax bk1 als effizienter Kocher für unterwegs geht auf
die Feuer- und Kochstellen von nordamerikanischen Wanderarbeitern, sogenannten
„Hobos“, zurück. Mit dem bk1 knüpft Petromax nicht nur an diese Idee an, sondern
entwickelt sie weiter und präsentiert mit dem bk1 einen ganz besonderen Hobo-Kocher.

Produktbeschreibung
Der siebe nteilige Petroma x bk1 ist ein prakt ischer und ef fizienter Koch er für unterwe gs.
Die Aussparungen in den Seitenwänden und im Bodenrost des Kochers bieten dem Feuer
eine optimale Luftzufuhr. Durch den entstehenden Kamineffekt verbrennt der Petromax
bk1 das Brennm aterial effi zient und erzeugt au f kleiner Fläche hoh e Temperatur en. So
gelingt es, auch unterwegs kurzfristig und m it wenig Aufwand zu ko chen.
Sicherheitshinweise
Verwende d en Petromax bk1 nur im Freie n. Er darf keinesf alls in geschlosse nen
Räumen verwendet werden. Dort bestehen Brand- und Erstickungsgefahr.
•
Informiere dich über die jeweils geltenden Brandschutzvorschriften und halte diese ein.
•
Nimm beim Fe uermachen in der N atur Rücksic ht auf die Tier- und Pf lanzenwelt so wie
auf Natur schutzgebie te. Halte immer ein en Abstand von mi ndestens 50 Meter n zum
Wald und zu Gebieten mit dichter Vegetation .
• Der Petromax bk1 muss bei Gebrauch einen Sicherheitsabstand von 1,5 Metern zu
brennbaren Materialien aufweisen. Verwende den Hobo-Kocher nicht auf einem Tisch.
•
Schaffe eine feuerfeste Unterlage und entferne brennbare Materialien wie Blätter oder
trockenes Gras. Platziere den Petromax bk1 auf einem ebenen, stabilen Untergrund,
bevor du ein Fe uer darin entzündest.

zum Anzünden oder Wiederanzünden des Feuers. Diese Stoffe entzünden sich
explosionsartig und sind zum Teil giftig und umweltschädlich.
• Lass den Pet romax bk1 niemals unbeaufsichtig t, sobald ein Feuer darin brennt. Gi b
Acht auf Kinder und Tiere, wenn sie sich in der N ähe des Hobo-Ko chers aufhalten .
• Beweg den Petromax bk1 nicht , während dieser in Gebrauch oder heiß ist.
• Trage beim Gebrauch des Petromax bk1 entsprechende Kleidung. Lange lose Ärmel
fangen schnell Feuer.
• Halte für den Notfall Sand, Wasser, einen Feuerlöscher oder eine Löschdecke zum
Löschen bereit.
• Lass den Pet romax bk1 nach dem Gebr auch vollständig aus kühlen.
•
Entferne die Asche erst, wenn diese erkaltet ist. Entsorge die Asche anschließend
ordnungsgemäß. Gib heiße Asche niemals in den Hausmüll!

Aufbau und Gebrauch
1.
Häng die Seitenwände (2.) in die Rückwand (5.) ein und stell die Seitenwände (2.)
dann leicht nach außen gespreizt auf.

Jetzt verbindest du den Bodenrost (4.) mit der Rückwand (5.). Dabei gibt es zwei
Möglichkeiten:
a) Möchtest du natürliche Materialien verbrennen, setzt du den Bodenrost unten
ein und scha ffst damit einen großzügig en Brennraum (Bild C).
b) Um den Hobo -Kocher mit Trockenbrennstoff-Tabletten, Teelichtern oder einem
Spirituskocher anzuheizen, baust du den Bodenrost in die obere Position ein
(Bild D).
Heb den Bodenrost (4.) so an, dass du die Seitewände (2.) zusammenschieben
kannst und die Steckelemente in die d afür vorgesehene n Schlitze passen .
3. Hänge Sie nun die Frontseite (1.) in die Seitenwände (2.) e in.
4. Als letztes steckst du die Stützstreben (3.) in die Schlitze der Seitenwände (2.). Der
Petromax b k1 ist nun aufg ebaut und einsatzbereit.

Tipps und Hinweise zum Gebrauch
•
Platziere den Hobo-Kocher auf einem ebenen, stabilen Untergrund, bevor du ein
Feuer darin entzündest. Auf unebenem Boden kann der Petromax bk1 an den Seiten
mit zwei herkömmlichen Zeltheringen gesichert werden.
•
Sorge vor dem Feuermachen für einen feuerfesten Untergrund. Entferne dazu
brennbare Materialien wie Blätter oder trockenes Gras. Achte darauf, dass der
Petromax b k1 nicht in die Erde einsi nkt. Nur wenn dur ch die Seiten und de n Bodenrost
ausreichend Luft angesogen werden kann, arbeitet der Hobo-Kocher effizient.
• Um das Feuer zu schüren, puste gleichmäßig durch die Aussparungen in die Glut.
Puste dabei nicht zu stark. Achtung, Funkenflug!
•
Wenn du den Hobo-Kocher stabil und sicher versetzen willst, hebe ihn an den
länglichen Seitenwänden an. Trage dazu stets hitzebeständige Handschuhe.
•
Achte darauf, da ss der Petromax bk1 g erade steht, dam it das aufgestel lte Kochgeschir r
nicht herunterrut scht.
•
Während des Kochvorgangs kannst du durch die Öffnung in der Vorderseite Holz
nachlegen, ohne dafür das Kochgeschirr anheben zu müssen. Das funktionier t allerdings
nur, wenn der Bod enrost in der unteren Po sition (siehe Bild C) ei ngebaut wurde.

Alternativ kannst du den Petromax bk1 auch mit Trockenbrennstoff-Tabletten,
•
Teelichtern oder einem handelsüblichen, kompakten Spirituskocher beheizen. Setze
den Bode nrost dazu in der obe ren Position ein, um die Hi tze der Flamme mögl ichst
nah an das Koch geschirr zu bringe n (siehe Bild D).
Hinweise zur Reinigung und Pflege
• Nach dem Kochen kannst du das Feuer im Petromax bk1 mit Wasser löschen oder
es herunterbrennen lassen.
• Entferne die Asche er st, wenn diese erkaltet ist und ent sorge sie ordnungsgemäß.
•
Bau den Hobo-Kocher auseinander, reinige die Einzelteile und verstau sie in der
zugehörigen Tasche.
•
Beseitige eventuelle Verbrennungsrückstände und hinterlasse den Ort, wo der
Petromax b k1 zum Einsat z gekommen ist, wie du ihn vorgefunden hast.

as "hobos". Petro max does not only t ake up this idea, but als o improves it and pre sents,
with the bk1, a ver y special hobo stove.

Product description
The Petromax Hobo Stove bk1 in seven parts is a practical and efficient stove for on
the way. The gaps in the side panels and in the grate of the stove offer an optimal air
supply fo r the fire. Thank s to this "stack eff ect", the Petromax bk1 e fficiently b urns fuel
and produ ces high temperatu res on a small surfa ce. It enables thus to co ok quickly and
with lit tle effort even o n the way.
Safety instructions
Only use th e Petromax bk1 outdo ors. Do not use in doors. Fire haz ard and danger
of suffocation!
• Comply with fire safety regulations.
•
Show consideration to the plant and animal life and to nature reserves when you
start a f ire outdoors. Keep a minimum distance of 50 meters to woods and areas of
dense vegetation.
•
Keep a minimum distance of 1.5 meters to flammable materials when using the
Petromax b k1. Do not use the hobo stove on a tabl e.
•
Set up a fi reproof enviro nment by removin g all flammabl e materials such as le aves or
dry grass. Place the Petromax bk1 on a level, s teady surface bef ore starting the fire.

• Only use branches, barks and wood that have already fallen from trees to start the

• If you use a comm ercially available grill or fire lighter please follow the inst ructions
on the packaging.
• Never pour f lammable flui ds into the Petromax bk1.
• Never use f luids such as petro l, turpentine or m ethylated spirit t o start or rest art the
fire. Suc h substances can e xplode and ar e partly toxic an d harmful to the env ironment.
• Never leave th e Petromax bk1 unatt ended while it is in us e. Watch over children and
animals that a re close to the hobo stove.
• Do not move the Petromax bk1 whe n it is in use or hot.
• Wear appropriate clothes when using the Petromax bk1. Avoid wearing long, loose
sleeves.
• Make sure you have some sand or water, a fire extinguisher or a f ire blanket nearby
to extinguish the fire.
• Let the Petro max bk1 cool down afte r use.
•
Do not remov e hot ashes. Wait unti l they are cold. The n dispose of the as hes properly.
Never throw h ot ashes in the domestic refuse!

Preparation & Use
1. Hang the side panels (2.) on the back panel (5.) and slightly pull the side panels (2.)
outwards.
2. Join the g rate (4.) to the back panel (5.). There are two options:
a) I f you want to burn natur al materials, pla ce the grate at the bot tom, thus creatin g
a spacious combustion chamber (figure C).
b) In order to light the hobo stove with dry fuel tablets, tealights or a spirit stove,
choose th e upper position for t he grate (figure D).
Lif t the grate (4.) and put the si de panels (2.) together thanks to the pr ovided slots.
3. Now hang th e front panel (1.) to the side panels (2.).
4. Finally, put t he struts (3.) in the slo ts of the side panels (2 .). The Petromax bk1 is now
assembled and ready to be u sed.
5. Light a fire in the hobo stove. As soon as the fire is burning properly, you can start
cooking.

Hints and advice
•
Place the Petro max bk1 on a level and st eady surface b efore start inga fire. If th e surface
is uneven, you c an secure the Petr omax bk1 with two t raditional tent p egs on the sides.
•
Before s tarting a f ire, make sure the plac e is fireproof. R emove all flamma ble materials
such as leaves o r dry grass. Make s ure the Petromax bk1 do es not sink in the grou nd.
The Petromax bk1 only works efficiently when enough air can be sucked into it
through the sides and the grate.
•
To fan the fire, blow steadily on the embers through the gaps. Do not blow too
strongl y. Risk of fly ing sparks!
• If you want to mov e the hobo stove in a stead y and safe way, lift it up by th e oblong
sides. Always wear heat-resistant gloves.
• Make sure the Pe tromax bk1 is strai ght and the cookin g container cannot s lip down.
• While cook ing, you can add wood through the opening on the front panel without
lifting up the cooking container. However, it only works when the grate is in the
lower position (see C).
• As an alter native you can also heat th e Petromax bk1 with dr y fuel tablets , tealights
or a commerc ially available com pact spirit stov e. For doing so, place th e grate in the
upper position so that the heat of the flames is as near as possible to the cooking
vessel (see D).

Once you have finished cooking, you can extinguish the fire in the Petromax bk1
with water or leave it burn out .
•
Do not remov e the ashes befor e they have cooled do wn. Dispose of th e ashes properl y.
•
Take the Petromax bk1 apart, clean each piece separately and put them back in
their pouch.
•
Dispose of any combustion residues and leave the place in which you used the
Petromax b k1 as it was before you arrive d.
Warranty
Under proper use, a warranty period of two years will apply to your Petromax Hobo
Stove bk1 from the d ate of purchase. Thi s does not apply to we aring parts . If you cannot
properl y assemble the Petro max bk1 due to a defect i n material or manufac turing, you
are entitled to a warrant y repair. Contact your de aler for that purpose.

Description du produit
Le Petromax bk1 en sept pièces est un réchaud pratique et efficace pour la route. Les
orifices sur les faces latérales et sur la grille de fond du réchaud assurent une arrivée
d’air optimale pour le feu. Grâce à cet « effet de cheminée », le Petromax bk1 brûle les
combustibles de manière efficace et permet d’atteindre de hautes températures sur
une petite surface. Il est ainsi possible de faire la cuisine rapidement et sans effort,
même sur la ro ute.
Consignes de sécurité
N’utilise le Pe tromax bk1 qu’à l’air lib re. Ne l’utilise jamais da ns un espace fermé
en raison d’un risque d’incendie et d’étouffement.
• Informe-toi sur les règles de sécurité incendie et respecte-les.
• Respec te la faune et la flor e et les zones naturell es protégées lor sque tu allumes un
feu dans la nature. Respecte un écart d’au moins 50 mètres des forêts et espaces à

sont en partie toxiques et nocives pour l’environnement.

Ne laisse jamais le Petromax bk1 sans surveillance, à partir du moment où tu y as
allumé un fe u. Surveille en fants et animau x se trouvant à prox imité du réchaud h obo.
•
Ne déplace pas le Petromax bk1 lorsque ce dernier est en train d’être utilisé ou
lorsqu’il est encore chaud.
•
Porte des vêtements adéquats lors de tout usage du Petromax bk1. Des manches
longues et amples prennent facilement feu.
•
Aie à proximité du sable, de l‘eau, un extincteur ou une couverture anti-feu pour
éteindre le feu.
• Laisse refroidir le Pet romax bk1 après toute uti lisation.
•
Ne retire les cendres que lorsqu’elles ont refroidi. Débarrasse-toi ensuite des cendres en
bonne et du e forme. Ne jett e jamais de cendres ch audes dans les ordu res ménagères !

MONTAGE ET UTILISATION
1. Accroche les faces latérales (2.) à la f ace arrière (5.) et écar te ensuite légèrement les
faces latérales (2.) vers l’extérieur.
2. Raccord e ensuite la grille de fo nd (4.) avec la face arrière (5.). Tu as deux p ossibilités :
a) Si tu souhaites brûler des matériaux naturels, tu mets la grille de fond en bas et
tu obtiens ainsi une grande chambre de combustion (figure C).
b) Af in d‘allumer le ré chaud hobo avec de s tablettes d e combustible s ec, des bougie s
chauffe-plat ou un réchaud à alcool, tu installes la grille de fond en position
supérieure (figure D).
Soulève la grille de fond (4.) de façon à pouvoir rapprocher les faces latérales (2.)
et à em boîter le tout à l‘aide d es fentes prévues à cet ef fet.
3. Accroch e maintenant aux face s latérales (1.) la face avant avec l’ori fice circulaire (2.).

Pour finir, enfonce les contrefiches (3.) dans les fentes des faces latérales (2.). Le
Petromax b k1 est mainten ant prêt à être utilisé.
5. Allume un f eu dans le réchaud hob o. Dès que le feu a bien pri s, tu peux commencer
la cuisson.

Conseiles et remarques
• Place le Petromax bk1 sur un plan plat et stable avant d’y allumer un feu. En cas de
plan inég al, il est possible de s tabiliser le Petro max bk1 en plaçant deu x sardines de
tente traditionnelle sur les cotés.
•
Assure-toi avant d’allumer le feu que l’environnement est résistant à la chaleur.
Éloignes-en tous les matériaux inflammables tels que des feuilles ou de l’herbe sèche.
Assure-toi que le Petromax bk1 ne s’enfonce pas dans la terre. Une quantité d’air
suff isante doit pouvoi r passer par les cotés et l a grille de fond pour q ue le Petromax
bk1 fonctionne efficacement.
•
Pour attis er le feu dans le Petr omax bk1, souff le de façon régu lière sur la brais e à travers
les orifices oblongs. Ne souffle pas trop fort. Attention aux projections d’étincelles !
• Si tu veux dép lacer le Petromax bk1 d e façon stable et sûr e, soulève-le p ar les parois
latérales o blongues. Porte toujours pou r cela des gants résistant à la chaleur.
•
Place le Petromax bk1 bien droit, de façon à ce que le récipient placé dessus ne
glisse pas .
• Pendant la cuisson, tu peux remettre du bois par l’ouverture sur la face avant, sans
avoir à soulever le récipient. Cela n‘est toutefois possible que lorsque la grille de fond
est installée en position inférieure (voir C).
• Afin d‘allumer le réchaud hobo avec des tablettes de combustible sec, des bougies
chauff e-plat ou un ré chaud à alcool, t u installes la gr ille de fond en pos ition supérie ure
(figure D).

Consignes de nettoyage et entretien

• Une fois la cuisson terminée, tu peux éteindre le feu dans le Petromax bk1 avec de
l’eau, ou attendre qu’il s’éteigne.
• Ne retire les cendres qu’une fois qu’elles ont refroidi et débarrasses- t ‘en en bonne
et due forme.
•
Démonte le Petromax bk1, nettoie chaque partie séparément et range-les dans
leur pochette.
•
Enlève tout éventuel résidu de combustion et laisse l’endroit où tu as utilisé le
Petromax b k1 tel que tu l’as tro uvé.
Garantie
La durée d e garantie est de deux a ns à compter de la date d’achat de t on Petromax bk1
dans le cadr e d’une utilisation ad équate. Les pièces suj ettes à usure n’entrent pas d ans
la garantie. Si le Petromax bk1 ne se monte pas correctement en raison de défauts de
fabrication ou de matériel, tu as droit à une réparatio n. Contacte alors ton revendeur.
