INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
** Installation recommendation: JBA recommends in most case that the vehicle be taken to a reputable exhaust shop for installation.

Recommended Tools:
14mm socket
9/16 socket
13 mm socket
15 mm socket
Pry bar
WD-40 or equivalent
Hi-temp silicone
Start:
1. Remove and inventory new JBA
exhaust system.
2. Disconnect negative battery
cable and allow vehicle to cool.
3. Unbolt the ground strap from the
factory tail pipe above the rear axle.

A. Cross over pipe 1
B. Y-pipe 1
C. JBA mufer 1
D. Axle pipe 1
E. Tail pipe with tip 1
F. 2” U-bolt clamp 1
G. 2.5” U-bolt clamp 2
H. 2.5” U-bolt clamp w/ hanger 1
8. Reinstall the rubber isolator from
step 5.
9. Apply a small bead of high temp
silicone to the factory gasket.

14. Install JBA mufer (C) onto Ypipe (B) and tighten clamp (G).
15. Slip 2.5” U-bolt clamp with
hanger (H) over end of mufer then
insert rod into rubber isolator.

21. Re-connect the rear ground
strap to stud on tail pipe (F).
22. Align the new tip of the system
for proper clearance from fender
and leaf spring. Secure in place by
tightening clamps (H).

4. Unbolt the factory tailpipe from
the exhaust system above the rear
axle. Then unbolt the rear rubber
isolator attached to the frame and
remove the tail pipe.
5. Unbolt and remove the rubber
isolator supporting the Y-pipe.
6. Spray WD40 on the fasteners
attaching the Y-pipe to the catalytic
converter assemblies.
7. Unbolt the Y-pipe from the catalytic converter assembly. Disconnect the ground strap and remove
the mufer/Y-pipe assembly.
10. Slip the new Y-pipe (B) into the
crossover pipe (A).
11. Slip the new Y-pipe (B) hanger
into the forward rubber isolator.
Then connect the Y-pipe (B) and
crossover pipe (A) to the catalytic
converter assembly.
12.Reattach the forward ground
strap. Install supplied 2” U-bolt
clamp (F) over slip connection on
Y-pipe (B) and crossover (A).
13. Slip 2.5” U-bolt clamp (H) over
end of Y-pipe (B).
16. Insert axle pipe (D) into end of
mufer (C).
17. Slip 2.5” U-bolt clamp (G) over
end of axle pipe (D).
18. Insert hanger on tail pipe with
tip (E) into rear rubber isolator
removed in step 4.
19. Slip tail pipe with tip (E) onto
axle pipe (D).
23. Using a soft cloth, remove all
prints from exhaust tip.
24. Check all clamps and connections for proper t and alignment. Double check all clamps are
tightened and that all hangers are
secure in rubber grommets. It is
recommended that after installation
of the exhaust system you have all
slip connections tack welded by a
mufer shop.
NOTES:
1. All exhaust systems expand
about 1” rearward when exhaust
temperature rises.
2. It may be neccessary to adjust
the location of the spare tire.
3. Use anti-seize on threads of
clamps.
20. Re-attach the rear rubber
isolator to frame. Then secure tail
pipe by tightening clamp (G) over
connection.
JBA recommends taking the vehicle to a mufer shop and having all slip connections tack welded. 6.16.06
