
How to strip down and service the Zeiss Jena Sonnar 180 2.8
for Pentacon Six (Zebra version)

Parts you will obtain:
1- Front ring: unscrew with rubber wrench or self made wrench with empty tape spool
2- Front element behind
3- Ring supporting front element: unscrew with spanner wrench
4- Tube holding middle group: there is one retaining ring below which can be unscrewed by hand or spanner

5- Middle optical group: Three elements glued
6- Back element and tube: unscrew with spanner wrench or rubber wrench
7- After doing this the barrel will contain only the aperture and focusing mechanisms, no more glass.

Barrel empty of glass and tools necessary: spanner wrench above right and rubber wrench set and hand made
wrench
Cleaning products and lubricating oil for stuck screws and rings
Clean and sterilize everything with isopropanol, using cotton swabs. After use a cleaning glass product with
alcool or vinegar base
Wipe gently with a paper tissue or dedicated glass lens wipe
Stuck rings must be treated with isopropanol and anti rust oil spray before unscrewing
Assemble everything using cotton gloves and use hand blower to dust everything in each step. Don’t use to
much force but secure rings tight
