Important Safeguards and Warnings
Important Safety Instructions
1. Read Instructions. All the safety and operating instructions should be read before the camera is
operated.
2. Retain Instructions. The safety and operating instructions should be retained for future reference.
3. Heed Warnings. All warnings on the camera and in the operating instructions should be adhered to.
4. Follow Instructions. All operating and use instructions should be followed.
5. Cleaning: Unplug the power unit from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or
aerosol cleaners. Use a damp cloth for cleaning.
6. Attachments: Do not use attachments not recommended by your appliance dealer, as they may cause
hazards.
7. Water and Moisture: Do not use the camera in any location in which it may be exposed to water or
moisture. (For example, dripping, splashing, or liquid near equipment etc.)
8. Accessories: Do not place the camera on an unstable cart, stand, tripod,
bracket, or table. The camera may fall, causing serious injury to a child or adult,
and serious damage to the camera. Use only with mounting accessories
recommended by your appliance dealer or sold with the camera. Any mounting
of the camera should follow your appliance dealer's instructions.
The camera must be installed in a location or on a piece of equipment that can
withstand three times the total weight of the camera, including the lens, camera,
mount, adapter, etc.
9. Any appliance and cart combination should be moved with care. Quick stops, excessive force, and
uneven surfaces may cause the appliance and cart combination to overturn.
10. Ventilation: The camera should never be placed near or over a radiator or heat register. The camera
should not be placed in a built-in installation such as a bookcase or rack unless proper ventilation is
provided or your appliance dealer's instructions have been adhered to.
11. Power Sources: The camera should be operated only from the type of power source indicated on the
rating plate. If you are not sure of the type of power supply for your installation site, consult your
appliance dealer or local power company.
12. Power Cord Protection: Power supply cords should be routed so that they are not likely to be walked on
or pinched by items placed upon or against them, paying particular attention to cords at plugs,
convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the camera.
13. Lightning: For added protection for the camera during a lightning storm, or when it is left unattended and
unused for long periods of time, unplug it from the wall outlet and disconnect the cable system. This will
prevent damage to the camera due to lightning and power line surges.
14. Overloading: Do not overload the wall outlet and extension cord, as this can result in a risk of fire or
electric shock.
15. Object and Liquid Entry: Never push objects of any kind into the camera through openings, as they may
touch dangerous voltage points or short out parts that could result in a fire or electric shock. Never spill
liquid of any kind on the camera.
16. Servicing: Do not attempt to service the camera yourself, as opening or removing covers may expose
you to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.

17. Damage Requiring Service: Unplug the power unit from the wall outlet. Refer servicing to qualified
service personnel under the following conditions.
a. When the power supply cord or plug is damaged.
b. If liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the camera.
c. If the camera has been exposed to rain or water.
d. If the camera does not operate normally by following the operating instructions. Adjust only those
controls that are covered by the operating instructions, as an improper adjustment of other controls
may result in damage and will often require extensive work by a qualified technician to restore the
camera to its normal operation.
e. If the camera has been dropped or the cabinet has been damaged.
f. When the camera exhibits a distinct change in performance. This indicates a need for service.
18. Replacement Parts: When replacement parts are required, be sure the service technician has used
replacement parts specified by a qualified dealer or that have the same characteristics as the original
part.
Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire, electric shock, or other hazards.
19. Safety Check: Upon completion of any service or repairs to the camera, ask the service technician to
perform safety checks to determine that the camera is in proper operating condition.
Troubleshooting Tips
Ensure that all power cords are attached.
Ensure that all power switches are in the ON position.
Ensure that all cables are installed in the proper location and are fully seated.

1. Introduction
The box camera is ideal for indoor installation in commercial environment.
Before You Begin:
Please read this guide carefully before you install the box camera. Keep this guide for future reference.

(1) Lens mount
For the installation of CS Mount lenses only, use
no adapter.
Before mounting the lens, you can screw the C
adapter onto the lens, and then screw the lens
onto the lens mount.
(2) Back Focus adjustment
A. Back Focus Screw:
Using Minus wrench to loosen this screw before
you use the Focus Adjustment. To maintain the
correct focus afterwards, ensure that it is
tightened.
B. Focus Adjustment:
Adjust this dial to obtain correct back-focus whilst
using a CS mount lens.
(3) Video Output Terminal
BNC: Used to give out the video signal.
Connected to the video input terminal of a
monitor, switcher, etc. (to be terminated with
75 ohm impedance)
(4) OSD joystick control
Press the OSD joystick control straight down:
• For two seconds to enter the Main menu.
• To enter a screen or to select a submenu option.
A selected menu item blinks.
(5) I/O
Connect your external devices to the
corresponding I/O terminal block. The pins of the
I/O terminal block controls the following signals:
TP+/-: UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair)
ALIN/GND:Alarm input Ground (electrically) in
electrical circuits.
ALOUT/COM:Alarm output Ground (electrically)
in electrical circuits.
(6) Power Connector
Connect to the respective power source.
• For dual-voltage model: Connect to DC12V or
AC 24V power adapter.
• For high-voltage model: Connect to AC 220V
power source.
WARNING:
This apparatus must be GROUNDED.
(7) Power Indicator
The power indicator light is lit (Red), which
means the power is connected.

Entering OSD Menu
Hold down on the joystick to open the Main menu. Use the UP/DOWN functions of the joystick to move
the cursor to the item you want to modify. A selected menu item will be highlighted.
Press UP: Press to move the cursor up.
Press Down: Press to move the cursor down.
Enter button: Hold down on the joystick to enter the selected item or change the settings of the
selected item.
Press Right: Press it to change the settings of the selected item.
Press Left: Press it to change the settings of the selected item.
NOTE: When an item is selected, it will be highlighted.
After all the settings have been satisfied, move the cursor to the "Save All" item and press the enter
button. Then move the cursor to the "EXIT" item and press the enter button to exit OSD setup menu.
You can also restore the settings to factory default by moving the cursor to the "CAMERA RESET" item
and then pressing the Enter button. Then move the cursor to the "Save All" item and press the Enter
button.

Use the OSD menu to set up the camera for optimum performance.
NOTE: All the value or configurations shown in the following figures are camera’s default settings.
4.1 LENS
The LENS settings allow you to configure Lens and speed. Options are AUTO (Auto Iris lens) and
MANUAL. The default setting is AUTO.
In the AUTO submenu, you can set the MODE as AUTO. Then select SPEED to adjust the DC Iris Lens
convergence speed from 000~255.
If speed value is less, the IRIS will be become more slower. If speed value is higher, the IRIS will be
become more faster.

4.2 SHUTTER/AGC
You can set the SHUTTER/AGC as AUTO or MANUAL. The default setting is AUTO.
You can select HIGH LUMINANCE MODE OR LOW LUMINANCE MODE and adjust the BRIGHTNESS.
The brightness level ranges from 0~255. The IRIS level will be controlled by camera brightness.
SUGGESTED USE:
DC Lens: When using DC lens, it is recommended to set SHUTTER/AGC to AUTO mode. Enter the
AUTO submenu as shown in the figure. Move the joystick control UP or DOWN to adjust HIGH
LUMINANCE MODE to AUTO IRIS.
Manual Lens: When using MANUAL lens, it is recommended to set SHUTTER/AGC to AUTO mode.
Enter the AUTO submenu as shown in the figure. Move the joystick control UP or DOWN to adjust HIGH
LUMINANCE MODE and LOW LUMINANCE setting.
The shutter speed is variable from 1/50(1/60) sec to the 1/10Ksec and the AGC is selectable depending
on your environment condition.
AUTO IRIS and SHUT+AUTO IRIS difference
• Use DC lens and setting to AUTO IRIS mode for normal condition application environments. The IRIS
level will be controlled by camera brightness.
• Use DC lens and setting to SHUT+AUTO IRIS mode for high light application environments. The
exposure will be controlled by AES or the DC Iris. The iris level will be controlled by camera brightness.
In HIGH LUMINANCE MODE, the submenu is shown as follow. When the high luminance mode is on,
the shut could not be set.
Enter the LOW LUMINANCE MODE submenu shown as the follow figure. LOW LUMINANCE could be
set as AGC, SLOW, AGC→SLOW, AGC→SLOW→AGC, and OFF. There are 10 levels for selection.
Depending on your environment condition, slow shut could be selected as OFF, x2, x4, x8, x16, x32,
x64, x128, x256; the default slow shut is x4.

4.3 WHITE BAL
WHITE BALANCE controls color on the screen. Options include ATW (Auto White Balance), PUSH,
USER1, USER2, Anti CR (Anti Color Rolling Suppression), MANUAL or PUSH LOCK mode. The default
is ATW. The color temperature range is 2500°K ~ 9500°K.
Enter the ATW submenu as shown in the figure. Select ATW when the scene illumination varies
between indoor scenes and outdoor scene lighting. The SPEED and DELAY CNT have 000~255 levels
to select respectively. You can set ATW FRAME as x0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 or MAX.
In Environment submenu, you can choose the standard, indoor or outdoor according to your shooting
environment.
NOTE: When setting different value of ATW FRAME and application environment, the color temperature
range of white balance will be changed. The color temperature range of x0.5 of ATW FRAME will be
smaller than x2.0.
If selected MANUAL mode shown as follow figure, you can adjust LEVEL by push enter or preset the
configuration.
If selected USER1 or USER2 mode shown as follow figures, you can adjust B-GAIN and R-GAIN value
from 000 to 255.
If selected PUSH mode in the appropriate position, whole area will perform white balance.
If selected PUSH LOCK mode in the appropriate position, WHITE BALANCE will perform once.
If selected Anti CR mode in the appropriate position, whole area will effectively restrain color cast.

4.4 HLC/BLC
Set BLC (Backlight compensation) function and HLC (Highlight compensation) function. BLC and HLC
Compensation are the functions that achieve the brightness of a selected area to an optimum image
level. Due to the intense light coming from the back of objects in the area expected to view, the auto iris
lens tends to close and areas desired to see become dark and invisible.
Available options include OFF, ON or AUTO mode. The default is OFF.
If HLC is selected, HLC is activated automatically when the camera detects high-luminance.
When selected ON, the function controls the light level to overcome severe backlighting conditions. The
clip level ranges from 000 to 255 and scale has 15 levels.
4.5 PICTURE ADJUST
PICTURE ADJUST allows you to adjust picture settings for optimal image. In the PICT ADJUST
submenu, you can adjust picture Flip, Contrast, Sharpness, Chroma, Blemish detection, or Negative.
The options: OFF, V-FLIP, H-FLIP, HV-FLIP are selectable in Flip line.
In BLEMISH DET submenu, you can set the blemish compensation function. Press <SET> and waits to
be confirmed. After that, the white blemish will be removed, then back to the optimal image.
Contrast could be selected from 000 to 063, Sharpness is 000~015, and Chroma is 000~008.

4.6 WDR
Set WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) function. The Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) function is intended to
provide clear images even under back light circumstances where intensity of illumination can vary
excessively.
The default setting is FULL WDR; it also has options of OFF and LIGHT WDR. In WDR SETUP submenu,
you can set CONTRAST as MID, MIDHIGH, HIGH, LOW or MIDLOW to optimize the image. The
submenu of Light WDR is same with WDR SETUP submenu. Or you can select OFF to close WDR
function.
4.7 MOTION DET
MOTION DET allows detecting moving objects on the screen. The default is OFF. If selecting ON, you
will enter the MOTION DET submenu. You can set 4 motion areas to detect moving objectives and
adjusts the motion detection sensitivity. The value of sensitivity is from 000 to 127.
4.8 PRIVACY
PRIVACY function mask up to 15 privacy areas on the screen from video monitoring. The default setting
is OFF. If selecting ON, you will enter the PRIVACY submenu. You can configure up to 15 privacy areas
and set color and transparency of the privacy zones. In addition, you can enable MOSAIC function for
the privacy zone.
Note: When TRANSP is 1.00, Mosaic function is not available.

4.9 DAY/NIGHT
Set DAY/NIGHT function. The default setting is AUTO. Move the joystick control LEFT or RIGHT to
select the AUTO, COLOR, MONO mode. Enter the AUTO submenu as shown in the figure. Move the
joystick control UP or DOWN to turn BURST ON/OFF and set the time before the camera switches to
DAY-> NIGHT mode or NIGHT->DAY mode. The Delay CNT has a range from 000 to 255 and both two
switch mode are 20 levels selectable.
When select Day->NIGHT level to set up switchover point of brightness from COLOR mode to MONO
mode under different Lux levels.
When select NIGHT->DAY level to set up switchover point of brightness from MONO mode to COLOR
mode under different Lux levels.
If selected COLOR mode, you can force the camera to stay in DAY (COLOR) mode.
If selected MONO mode, you can force the camera to stay in MONO (NIGHT) mode.
4.10 3D NR
3D NR allows you to configure the DNR (Digital Noise Reduction) settings to reduce noise on the screen.
In the NR submenu, you can adjust NR LEVEL. When you enable the NR MODE, you can choose LOW,
MIDLOW, MID, MIDHIGH, HIGH LEVEL depending on your environment condition.
4.11 CAMERA ID
CAMERA ID displays ON or OFF. The default setting is OFF. You can set the ON mode to add a camera
title up to 26 characters with 1 line appears on the top of monitor screen.
4.12 SYNC
Set the vertical sync mode for INT or LL mode. Move the joystick control LEFT or RIGHT to select the
INT or LL mode. The default setting is INT. The LL option is only available with AC power.
Use line synchronization to eliminate the vertical roll that occurs when multiple cameras are connected to
the same switching device. Line synchronization locks each camera to the same frame rate.

4.13 LANGUAGE
OSD supports 6 multi built in languages. The default setting is English. Options include ENGLISH /
SPANISH / RUSSIAN / GERMAN / FRENCH / JAPANESE or PORTUGUESE.
4.14 CAMERA RESET
Move to the CAMERA RESET mode then Press the ENTER key to recall factory settings.
4.15 EZOOM
Enter EZOOM SETUP submenu shown as the follow figure. Move the joystick control LEFT or RIGHT to
select PAN /TILT value for zoom in or zoom out the image. PAN range is 000~1023, TILT range is
000~5110.
4.16 DIS
Set DIS (DISPLAY) function. The default setting is OFF. When choose DIS on, EZOOM could not be set.
4.17 FOCUS ADJ
You can adjust focus of the lens. In the video picture, the focus value stays in changing automatically.
4.18 ALARM
In this function line, you can set a series of general parameters of ALARM. Press joystick control to enter
ALARM SETUP submenu shown as figure.
Choose and press joystick control to enter DEFOCUS TXT SETUP submenu as figure. The DEFOCUS
TXT can be set as Off/ON, DEFOCUS LEVEL is 000~007. Use this feature when your application
requires screen notification of a camera tamper. If this mode is selected, the Alarm Out will activate
when defocusing occurs.
For Submenu ALARM OUT
You can configure ALARM OUT TRIGGER as AUX or MOTION DET. Choose AUX when your
application requires that the Coaxitron or D protocol remote control will be used to activate the Alarm Out.
Choose MOTION DET when your application requires that when motion is sensed the Alarm Out is
activated. Only one type of Alarm Out can be specified.
NOTE:
The Alarm Out function when set to AUX will operate as follows from Coaxitron or D protocol remote
control:
• AUX 1: Activates Alarm Out
• AUX 2: Activates Alarm Out for 2 seconds and returns to deactivated state
• AUX 3: Deactivates Alarm Out
For Submenu NORMAL OUT
Default setting is Relay Open. The option can be set to Relay Closed. Configure this setting to match
your attached accessory logic.
For Submenu ALARM IN
You can configure ALARM IN TRIGGER as SCREEN INDICAT or DAY/NIGHT. Choose SCREEN
INDICAT when your application requires that when an Alarm In is sensed the camera is to display
ALARM TXT. Choose DAY/NIGHT when you application requires that you set the camera to BW mode
manually via an Alarm In. This is typically used with an external IR light accessory that will control the
cameras BW or Color mode. Only one type of Alarm In can be specified.
For Submenu ALARM TXT
Choose On when your application requires that text is to be put to the camera screen. Select the text in
this submenu. Text will go to the screen in either Alarm In mode if selected On.

4.19 REMOTE
The camera supports PELCO D protocol, you can visit camera by remote access connectivity. The

WARRANTY
Pelco will repair or replace, without charge, any
merchandise proved defective in material or
workmanship for a period of one year after the
date of shipment.
Exceptions to this warranty are as noted below:

Pelco will warrant all replacement parts and
repairs for 90 days from the date of Pelco
shipment. All goods requiring warranty repair
shall be sent freight prepaid to a Pelco
designated location. Repairs made necessary
by reason of misuse, alteration, normal wear, or
accident are not covered under this warranty.
Pelco assumes no risk and shall be subject to
no liability for damages or loss resulting from the
specific use or application made of the Products.
Pelco’s liability for any claim, whether based on
breach of contract, negligence, infringement of
any rights of any party or product liability,
relating to the Products shall not exceed the
price paid by the Dealer to Pelco for such
Products. In no event will Pelco be liable for any
special, incidental, or consequential damages
(including loss of use, loss of profit, and claims
of third parties) however caused, whether by the
negligence of Pelco or otherwise.
The above warranty provides the Dealer with
specific legal rights. The Dealer may also have
additional rights, which are subject to variation
from state to state.
If a warranty repair is required, the Dealer must
contact Pelco at (800) 289-9100 or (559) 2921981 to obtain a Repair Authorization number
(RA), and provide the following information:
1. Model and serial number
2. Date of shipment, P.O. number, sales order
number, or Pelco invoice number
3. Details of the defect or problem
If there is a dispute regarding the warranty of a
product that does not fall under the warranty
