Archive Utility
is a robust and flexible tool that provides users the
ability to transfer video and audio data from any Integral Digital
®
Sentry
recorder to another computer on the network to meet their
storage requirements. Users can extend existing storage capacities,
leveraging the hard drive capacity of another computer on the
network. This alternative storage scheme allows video and audio
data to be archived for periods greater than one year while
minimizing search and retrieval time.
Archive Utility
allows users to configure and administer entire
automated archiving schemes for multiple DVMS units, all from a
single computer.
Archive Utility
offers flexible scheduling, auto
archiving, and off-site disaster recovery, creating a completely
customizable, user-defined security environment. Customers can set
up archiving configurations on a camera-by-camera basis and the
types of video they want to archive (all video, motion events, or alarm

events). Archiving can be scheduled to run continuously, hourly, daily,
weekly, or monthly. Users can also archive video at the full recording
rate or a reduced rate. An individual
Archive Utility
license is
required for each DVMS archived.
The
Archive Utility
server software and database are installed on an
Archive Utility server, which can be used as the storage location for the
archived video. The server can store video to local drives or a direct
attached storage (DAS) unit. Alternatively, an industry-standard
network attached storage (NAS) unit can be used to store video. A
client workstation is used to configure
Archive Utility
and can run the
Archive Player application. An Archive Job Wizard leads the user
through the steps required to configure archiving. The wizard and
Archive Player can also run on the DVMS or a remote client
workstation with other DVMS software such as DS ControlPoint.
