Vehicle SecurityLocking and Unlocking the Vehicle
ABOUT THE KEY FOB
The vehicle security system, door locks, and ignition are controlled by the key fob. The doors and trunk can be either locked or unlocked using the key fob. The key fob is part of the immobilizer system. It operates in the manner described below.
You can configure the vehicle's lights and horn to provide feedback on locking, unlocking, security system and mirrors. There are nine different options offered through the touch panel.
To get to the these settings press:
• My Karma > Settings > Doors & Mirrors
The doors can be programmed to use the Passive Lock feature.
The key fob can also be used to activate the Cabin Pre-Condition (CPC) feature. This feature enables the fob to remotely turn on the climate control system and adjust the temperature inside the vehicle to the pre­configured setting.
To configure CPC press:
• My Karma > Settings > Seats & Keys
Under Seats & Keys scroll to CPC Target Temperature and/or CPC Confirmation.
You have been supplied with two key fobs and a separate emergency key blade.
The following descriptions assume that all of these settings have been enabled.
Passive entry to the vehicle is allowed when you activate the exterior door handle switch and you have a registered key on your person (in your pocket or in your purse).
OBTAINING REPLACEMENT KEY FOBS AND KEY BLADES
If you lose a key fob or an emergency key blade, contact your Karma Automotive Retailer to obtain a replacement.
When ordering a new key fob, bring all available key fobs for the vehicle to your Karma Automotive Retailer to allow the sy ste m to be r epro gra mmed . If a ke y fo b or the key number is not available, your Karma Automotive Retailer can obtain the key code from a restricted-access database.
USING THE KEY FOB
WARNING: Always remove the key fob from the vehicle any time you exit
and walk away from the vehicle.

LOCKING AND UNLOCKING THE VEHICLE
The buttons on the key fob operate as follows:
1. Key Fob Lock:
• Press once to lock the vehicle and activate the vehicle's security system. The vehicle's lights will briefly flash to confirm the security system is active
Passive Lock:
• When exiting the vehicle, pressing the central lock, unlock switch or the switch on the exterior door handle and close the door. All doors should lock and the parking lights should flash once, indicating the security system is active
Cabin Preconditioning:
• Press once, then press and hold the lock button for two seconds to activate the remote preconditioning feature. The lights will flash twice; one short and one long, to signal successful activation
2. Key Fob Unlock:
• Press unlock button once to unlock the driver door. Press a second time to unlock all doors
• The park lights should flash and the mirrors may unfold, if configured, to confirm unlock
Passive Unlock:
• When a programmed key fob is in your possession, activate an exterior door handle. Dependent on your
vehicle settings, either a single door, the entire side of the vehicle, or all doors will open
• The park lights should flash
3. Panic Alarm:
• Press and hold the panic button to activate the panic alarm
4. Trunk Release:
• Press and hold the trunk release button for two seconds to release the trunk
It is not necessary to point the key fob at your vehicle, but you must be within operating range. The operating range will vary according to the condition of the key fob battery and other physical factors.
If the vehicle cannot be locked or unlocked using the buttons on the key fob, you may need to change the key fob battery.
Note: Interference from other radio equipment operating on a similar frequency may also affect the operation of the key fob. If this happens, operate the key fob as close to your vehicle as possible. If you are still unable to unlock your vehicle with the key fob, use the manual door lock located on the passenger side front door. See “Manual Exterior Unlocking” on page 22.
Note: Remote preconditioning, this is timer based-not temperature.
This feature will operate within 10 minutes if the vehicle is unplugged or 20 minutes if the vehicle is plugged into a charger,
The HVAC system will run for the set time based on a charging or not charging state, to achieve the desired cabin temperature.
The system will reach owner’s selected temperature and continue for set time, or shut off even if the desired temperature is not reached within this time.
After shut down the RPC feature will not monitor the vehicle cabin temperature, this may lead to the vehicle warming up or cooling down if a sufficient time has passed since initiated.

Be advised the requirement RPC to function properly is a minimum 20% state of charge (or 10 miles EV of range or more).

MEDICAL SAFETY
WARNING: Any person with an
