Low Frequency Enclosure
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Introduction
Thank you for choosing PeaveyÕs HiSys 215XT low frequency speaker enclosure as part of your sound reinforcement system. We take great pride in the design and manufacture of our units and you can expect top performance and reliability. Your HiSys enclosure has been rigorously tested before packing and despatch to your dealer.
Impedance
The HiSys 215XT is a nominal 4 ohms.
Crossover
The practice of bi-amplification allows full control over the performance of the drivers used in the HiSys 215XT. For optimum performance, no internal passive crossover is fitted to the HiSys 215XT. An electronic crossover or module will be required with a crossover point of between 100 and 250Hz. We recommend PeaveyÕs PL-100, PL-150 or PL-250 when using the CS series of power amplifiers fitted with crossover islands.
Satellite pole facility
We have equipped your HiSys 215XT low frequency enclosure with a top-mounted stand adapter. By using the correct satellite pole (not supplied) simply mount your satellite onto the HiSys 215XT. Suitable satellites are PeaveyÕs HiSys 1,2,5 or 6XT. Larger HiSys enclosures such as the HiSys 3 and 4 are not fitted with a stand adapter but may be stacked with the HiSys 215XT. Stand poles are available from your Peavey dealer.
The HiSys 215XT uses the PS-SP......PEAVEY PART # 0708.
Connection in bi-amp mode
From the power amplifier low pass output connect to the input of the HiSys 215XT using Neutrik pins 1+ and 1-. Configure the HiSys 1,2,3,4,5 or 6XT in full range mode (see relevant operating guide). From the amplifier hi pass output connect to the HiSys 1,2,3,4,5 or 6XT input using Neutrik pins 1+ and 1-.
Connection in tri-amp mode
For maximum performance, the HiSys 215XT low frequency enclosure can be tri-amped with the HiSys 1,2,3,4,5 or 6XT. Configure the HiSys 1,2,3,4,5 or 6XT to its bi-amp mode (refer to the relevant operating guide). Two crossover points are now required. For the low frequency enclosure, select between 100 and 250Hz and for the HiSys 1,2,4 or 6XT, 1200Hz (with 22XT compression driver EQ). The HiSys 3 and 5XT will need a crossover point of 2000Hz with no EQ. Simply connect the low pass to the input of the low frequency enclosure using Neutrik pins 1+ and 1-. Connect the mid pass to the input of the HiSys 1,2,3,4,5 or 6XT using Neutrik pins 1+ and 1-. Finally, connect the hi pass to the input of the HiSys 1,2,3,4,5 or 6XT using Neutrik pins 2+ and 2-.
Speakon Cable Wiring
Your HiSys enclosure is fitted with low loss Neutrik input sockets, either of which must be wired to a regular
twin conductor cable of adequate gauge using a 4-pole Neutrik plug (not supplied)..... .PEAVEY PART #
