DNA gyrase B subunit (gyrB)
gene
For general laboratory and research use only
Tsukamurella species are aerobic gram-positive rod shaped bacteria from the order
Actinomycetales. It is an opportunistic pathogen and immunocomprimised individuals are
most often at risk. It has been isolated from the lungs of infected indivuals and has also
been identified as a cause of septicemia, in many cases due to infected hospital
equipment. Tsukamurella spp. exist primarily as environmental saprophytes in soil, water
and foam (thick stable scum on aeration vessels and sedimentation tanks) of activated
sludge.
Infections with Tsukamurella species have been associated with chronic lung diseases,
immune suppression (leukaemia, tumours, HIV/AIDS infection) and post-operative wound
infections. Tsukamurella were reported in four cases of catheter-related bacteraemia and
in individual cases including chronic lung infection, necrotizing tenosynovitis with
subcutaneous abscesses, cutaneous and bone infections, meningitis and peritonitis.
Introduction to Tsukamurella inchonensis
The PCR Max qPCR Kit for Tsukamurella inchonensis (T.inchonensis) genomes is
designed for the in vitro quantification of T.inchonensis genomes. The kit is designed to
have the broadest detection profile possible whilst remaining specific to the T.inchonensis
genome.
The primers and probe sequences in this kit have 100% homology with a broad range of
T.inchonensis sequences based on a comprehensive bioinformatics analysis.
If you require further information, or have a specific question about the detection profile of
this kit then please send an e.mail to help@pcrmax.com and our bioinformatics team will
answer your question.
