Helicobacter pylori (previously named Campylobacter pylori) is Gram-negative, microaerophilic a bacterium that infects the mucus lining of the stomach and duodenum. Many cases of peptic ulcers, gastritis, and duodenitis are caused by H. pylori infection. However, many who are infected do not show any symptoms of disease. Helicobacter bacteria are the only known microorganisms that can thrive in the highly acidic environment of the stomach. Its helical shape (hence the name helicobacter) is thought to have evolved to penetrate and colonize the mucus lining. It is also linked to the development of duodenal ulcers and stomach cancer. However, over 80 percent of individuals infected with the bacterium are asymptomatic and it has been postulated that it may play an important role in the natural stomach ecology Infection with H. pylorican can be confirmed by a test done on a sample of faeces (stool) or in a breath test, or from a blood test, or from a biopsy sample taken during an endoscopy.

MAX
This kit will detect all Helicobacter pylori strains.
The PCR Max qPCR Kit for Helicobacter Pylori (H.pylori) genomes is designed for the in vitro quantification of H.pylori genomes. The kit is designed to have the broadest detection profile possible whilst remaining specific to the H.pylori genome.
The primers and probe sequences in this kit have 100% homology with a broad range of H.pylori sequences based on a comprehensive bioinformatics analysis.
If you require further information, or have a specific question about the detection profile of this kit then please send an e.mail to help@pcrmax.com and our bioinformatics team will answer your question.
