This guide will tell you everything you need to know about using
PC*MILER Navigator.
Safety Note:
PC*MILER Navigator powered by CoPilot Truck is designed
to calculate the most efficient and truck-specific route
for you. However, some of the information in the database
may change from time to time.
You must stay alert and pay attention to road signs
at all times.
The CoPilot Truck GPS Navigation software and street-level maps of U.S. and Canada are
already installed on your PC*MILER Navigator Device.
Switching on
• Switch on PC*MILER Navigator using the power button on the top right edge.
• Select Navigation and the CoPilot Truck GPS Navigation software will launch.
Select language and Voice
• Set the language for on-screen text and voice guidance then click Next.
Select Jill for street names.

Select a distance measurement
• Choose between Miles and Kilometers for distances. Click Next.
You will be asked to accept the Safety Warning for PC*MILER Navigator.
Click Accept to continue.

GPS startup
The PC*MILER Navigator has an integrated GPS receiver. The first time you use the GPS
receiver will take up to 10 minutes to determine your position. To ensure ETA to your
destination is accurate select the correct time zone on your Device.
• Select Menu > Settings > > > Time Zone.
• Select the time zone of your current location
Tips: GPS Signal
GPS signal will be limited inside buildings, tunnels,
or parking lots. To work effectively the PC*MILER
Navigator should be mounted on the supplied
windshield craddle for clear line of sight to the sky.

For Your Safety
Do not attempt to change the settings, or set a
destination on the PC*MILER Navigator while you
are driving. Ask a passenger to make changes, or
pull over safely. Do not leave your device loose in the
cab while driving. Ensure it is correctly seated in the
windshield mount.

Selecting a destination
PC*MILER Navigator uses GPS Satellites to calculate your exact position so you don’t have to
enter your starting point. Simply enter your destination and PC*MILER Navigator will take you
there, providing detailed dock-to-dock voice guided instructions.
• Tap Menu > Destination > Address.
• Enter the city/town name of your destination.
• Select the correct city or area when it appears in the list below the city field.
Scroll down to see more address options matching what you have typed.
• Enter the first three or four letters of the
street name. Select the correct street
name when it appears in the list below
the street name field.
• Enter the house number and select
Finish, or just select Finish to skip
this step.

A screen will then appear, showing you a map of the route. Select Drive to begin
navigating your route.
Pick a Stop from the Map
You can also select a destination from the map.
• Click on Menu > Destination > > Pick on Map.
A map of the area around your current location will be displayed. Touch the screen to move
around the map and tap your desired destination when you find it.
There are even more ways to enter destinations in PC*MILER Navigator (pages 19-21).

Nearby Points of Interest
If you are running low on diesel fuel or need to rest at a truck stop,
PC*MILER Navigator has millions of pre-loaded Points-of-Interest (POI) to search.
• Tap Menu > Nearby POI
• From the list, select a category. For example Truck Services.
After a few moments a list of nearby Truck Services will appear, in order of distance from your
current location.
• Make a selection and click OK. A preview map of the route to your selected POI
will appear.
• Click Drive to begin Navigating your route

Adjusting the POI Settings
You can choose to have POIs shown on-screen and the distance at which you are notified by
adjusting the POI settings.
• Click Menu > Settings > > POIs.
• Enable the POIs by checking the box. Disable by unchecking.
• Choose to show POIs Always, Never or When Stopped from the drop down menu.
• In the Report POIs this far ahead field,
select a distance between
0.2 and 25 miles.
• Select whether to report POIs that are on
route or near route by checking or
unchecking the boxes.
• Select specific POI categories to display
by checking the boxes.
• Click OK to apply the settings and return to the Settings menu.

Advanced POI Search
If you want to visit a specific POI without entering the address, you can search the POI
database and set it as a destination.
• Click on Menu > Destination > Points of Interest.
• Choose to select a category or search all. If you check the Pick Category box, click the
correct category. Click Next.
• If you know the name of the place you want to visit , enter it here. Select Next.
• Select a Search Location: choose from Near current location, Along my route,In
a city or Near an Address to search for a related POI. Click Next.
• For Near current location and Along my route, the POI list will be automatically
generated. If you select In a City or Near and Address enter the name of the city or town nearest the POI you are searching for.

PC*MILER Navigator will then search the millions of POIs in its database. When complete,
a list of the nearest matches will appear on-screen.
• Select the correct POI from the list.
• Press Details to view the POI on the map. CoPilot Truck will also display the phone
number for the POI (if available).
• For PC*MILER Navigator to create a route form your current location to your selected
POI, click OK.

To Choose a Recent Destination
• Select Menu > Destination > > Recent.
Recent Provides quick and easy access to the last 50 destinations that you entered.
When the list is full each new address will replace an older inactive address.
To Delete the Recent stops list
• Select Menu > Destination > > Recent > Clear All.

To Choose an Intersection for your Destination
• Select Menu > Destination > > Intersection.
Enter the City or Town and click on Next. You will be asked to enter the first road and then
the second road to form the intersection. If you are not certain of the second road name
PC*MILER Navigator will provide a list of intersecting roads from which to choose from.
Select Next and PC*MILER Navigator will calculate your route to the point where they meet.

Selecting a Destination using Latitude and Longitude
If you know the latitude and longitude coordinates of your destination
you can enter them directly.
• Select Menu > Destination > > Coordinates.
• Choose to set the latitude and longitude in Degrees Minutes Seconds, Decimal
Degrees or Decimal Minutes.
• Enter a latitude and longitude in the appropriate format depending on which one you
have previously selected as a format.
PC*MILER Navigator will take a few moments to find the point. When the point has been
located, a map will appear with the location pinpointed by a red arrow.
• Select Drive to begin navigating your route.

If you are outside and have a GPS fix, you can save your current location.
• Select Menu > > Save Current Location.
• Enter a name for the destiantion and click Save.
The location will be saved in your Fovorites list, where it can be accessed a a destination in
the future.
Other Ways to Select a Destination
You can save locations as Home and Work as well as save your Favorite destinations so you
can access them quickly, (see page 40-42).

Entering Multiple Destinations
PC*MILER Navigator allows you to plan a trip with up to 50 destinations
in one itinerary.
• Tap Menu > > Plan or Edit Trip.
• Tap Add Stop and choose Address.
• Add the first address in the same way as detailed above;
seeSelecting A Destinationon page 13.
• Tap Add Stop again to add your second, third, fourth, etc. address.

Customizing your trip
When you have entered all your required stops you can change the order they appear in.
• Tap the address you wish to move.
A pop-up menu will appear containing a list of options:
• Move Up
• Move Down
• Move to Start
• Move to End
The selected stop will move to its new position in the trip list.
