1 Sicherheitsinformationen

Machen Sie sich mit der Bedienung des Messgerätes vertraut, bevor Sie es in Verbindung mit
der Software verwenden. Nutzen Sie dazu die Bedienungsanleitung, welche Ihrem PCE-Gerät
beiliegt. Sämtliche Sicherheitshinweise aus der Bedienungsanleitung des Messgerätes gelten
auch bei seiner Verwendung mit der PC-Software.
Die Benutzung des Gerätes und der Software darf nur durch sorgfältig geschultes Personal
erfolgen. Schäden, die durch Nichtbeachtung der Hinweise in den jeweiligen
Bedienungsanleitungen entstehen, entbehren jeder Haftung.

Für Druckfehler und inhaltliche Irrtümer in dieser Anleitung übernehmen wir keine Haftung.
Wir weisen ausdrücklich auf unsere allgemeinen Gewährleistungsbedingungen hin, die Sie in

2 Systemvoraussetzungen

 Windows XP SP2 oder höher
 Prozessor mit 1 GHz
 256 MB RAM
 CD-ROM Laufwerk
 Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 oder höher

3 Installation

3.1 Software

Die Software muss nicht installiert werden. Sie können Sie direkt von der CD aus starten.
Legen Sie dazu die CD in das CD-ROM-Laufwerk Ihres PCs und starten Sie die Datei „SOFT­PCE-TDS V 1.3.exe“.
Falls auf Ihrem PC Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 noch nicht installiert ist, wird beim Ausführen
der Datei automatisch ein Download bzw. Installer gestartet. Nach der Installation können Sie
die Software verwenden.

3.2 Gerätetreiber

Die Installation der Gerätetreiber erfolgt automatisch.

4 Bedienung

Starten Sie die Software. Es öffnet sich folgender Bildschirm:

Zunächst müssen Sie die Verbindungseinstellungen anpassen, um die Verbindung zum
Messgerät herstellen zu können.

Aktivieren Sie dazu die Checkbox „From COM“. Die Felder „Port“, „Baud“, „Parity“ und „StopBit“

werden nun aktiv.

Passen Sie die Einstellungen an die Einstellungen im Messgerät an. Standardmäßig sind
folgende Einstellungen aktiv: Baudrate: 9600 bps; Parität: None; StopBit: 1.

Im Messgerät können Sie die Einstellungen unter Menüpunkt M62 einsehen und ändern.
Falls Sie unter „Port“ mehrere COM-Schnittstellen zur Auswahl haben, schauen Sie im

Windows Gerätemanager unter „Anschlüsse COM & LPT“, um die korrekte Schnittstelle zu
identifizieren.

Wenn alle Einstellungen korrekt sind und das Messgerät über das Schnittstellenkabel mit dem
PC verbunden ist, klicken Sie auf „Open“, um die Verbindung herzustellen.

Um die Datenübertragung zu aktivieren, öffnen Sie im Messgerät Menüpunkt M52 und wählen
Sie „Buffer=>RS232“ aus.
Die Daten aus dem Buffer des Messgerätes werden nun über die Datenschnittstelle an den PC
übertragen.

Die übertragenen Daten tauchen im Vorschaufenster rechts in der Software auf:

Mit Hilfe der Software können Sie diese Daten in ein übersichtlicheres Format bringen und als
Excel-Datei abspeichern. Wählen Sie dazu zunächst unter „Data Filter“ aus, welche Parameter
als eigene Spalte angezeigt werden sollen.

Im unteren Vorschaufenster können Sie sehen, wie die Daten im Excel-Format aussehen.

Klicken Sie auf „Save Excel“, um die Daten abzuspeichern. Es öffnet Sich ein neues Fenster, in

dem Sie den Speicherort und den Dateinamen auswählen können.

1 Safety notes

Acquaint yourself with the operation of the measuring device before using it in combination with
the PC software. For this purpose, use the instruction manual which comes with your PCE
product. All safety notes from the device’s manual have to be observed as well when the device
is used with this software.
The device and the software may only be used by qualified personnel. Damage or injuries
caused by non-observance of the manuals are excluded from our liability and not covered by
our warranty.

We do not assume liability for printing errors or any other mistakes in this manual.
We expressly point to our general warranty terms which can be found in our general terms of
business.

2 System requirements

 Windows XP SP2 or higher

3 Installation

3.1 Drivers

The driver is installed automatically when you connect the device to your PC.

3.2 Software

The software does not need to be installed. You can simply start it from the CD.
To do so, put the CD into the CD-ROM drive of your PC and run the file “SOFT-PCE-TDS 100 V

1.3.exe”.
When Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 is not yet installed on your computer, a download and
installer starts automatically when running the file. After that, you can use the software.

4 Operation

Start the software. The following screen appears:

First you need to adjust the connection settings in order to be able to establish a connection to
the device.

To do so, activate the check box “From COM”. The Options “Port”, “Baud”, “Parity” and “StopBit”

now become active.

Adjust the settings to the device’s connection settings. By default, those are set as follows:
Baudrate: 9600 bps; parity: none; stop bit: 1.

You can see and adjust the connection settings in the device in menu M62.
If more than one COM interface appears at “Port”, you can find the proper one by looking in the

Windows device manager, under “Connections COM & LPT”.

Once all settings are adjusted properly, click on “Open” to establish the connection.
To start the data transfer, you need to go to menu M52 in the device and select

“Buffer=>RS232”. Now the device begins to transfer the data from the buffer to the PC.
You can see the transferred data in the preview window on the right side of the software:

The software enables you to arrange the transmitted data more clearly and save them in Excel
format.
Under “Data Filter”, you can select the data to be displayed as a separate column.

In the preview window at the bottom of the software, you can see how the data looks in Excel
format.

To save the data, click on “Save Excel”. A new window appears where you can set the file name
and the file location.
