1.3 Safety Information
Inspections in industrial
areas
Wide selection of
probes
Different image trans-
mission systems
The PCE-VE 700 camera system is a modular endoscopic visualization system
for use in industrial areas. The system consists of a camera head with integrated
LED light source and a camera controller.
A wide selection of rigid, semi-flexible and flexible endoscope probes is available
in different lengths and diameters for the camera system.
The brightness of the durable and maintenance-free LED can be continuously ad-
justed. The light is directed through optical fibers to the probe tip and is emitted
there into inspection area.
The probes are equipped with rod lens systems or quartz optical fiber bundles.
Probes with rod lens systems are distinguished by a high image quality and are
well-suited for straight boreholes. Probes with quartz fiber bundles are more flexi-
ble and permit the inspection of curved and very thin channels.
The image transmission system directs the image to the image sensor in the cam-
era head that converts the optical image into electrical signals. The controller re-
ceives and renders them on the monitor.
A connected PC with appropriate software enables the capture of videos and stat-
ic images. An additional video output permits the connection of further peripherals
such as printers, recorders or frame grabbers.

2 Use
2.1 Handling Endoscopic Probes
Please follow the following instructions for handling the product in order to avoid
damaging the endoscopic probes:
The probe shaft and tip are mounted in extremely thin metal or plastic
tubes, depending on the design and version you have. Always hold the
probe at its main body.
The probes' bending ability will vary depending on the design and the ma-
terials being used. Do not bend rigid probes. Do not bend flexible probes
any more than 3° within the first 10 mm away from the body of the probe.
Any more than that may damage it. Refer to the attached data sheet for
each probe to see whether it is rigid or flexible.
Never keep applying pressure to the tip of the probe if you encounter re-
sistance. The optical components could be scratched or damaged.
Move the probe gently during inspections. Damage often results from
careless movements, particularly if the probe undergoes some kind of im-
pact either when it is being inserted or being tilted when it is being with-
drawn.
2 Use
2.1 Handling Endoscopic Probes
Damaged probes can be repaired in many cases. In order to avoid making
the damage any worse, do not continue using damaged probes and have
them repaired.
2.2 Installation and Connecting the Power Supply
Set the controller up and connect it to the power supply.
NOTICE! Using a different power adapter can damage the product and possibly
invalidate the warranty. Only use the original power adapter that came with the
product.
Proceed as follows:
1. Check that the mains voltage at the site of operation corresponds to the power
supply specifications.
2. Install the device.
Install safely!
When installing the device, ensure that:
it is positioned horizontally on an even, non-slip surface that is able to
support its weight
it is protected from water drips and splashes
during operation it is not subjected to any vibrations and remains free of
any vibration
the power supply is sufficiently ventilated and not covered
it is outside the range of any areas where explosions could occur
it is not placed anywhere near flammable materials
