1 Introduction

1.1 General

Thank you for purchasing a rigid borescope PCE-RS 27 /40 from PCE Instruments.
This device serves many different purposes and allows you to view even very narrow spaces and
boreholes. The picture you see has a high resolution and an integrated LED light helps you to even see
properly in dark spaces. This rigid borescope stands out by its compact but very resilient design.

1.2 Delivery content

1 x rigid borescope PCE-RS 27 or 40 (one of the models)
1 x 3.7 V Li-Ion rechargeable battery
1 x mains adaptor for charging
1 x carrying case
1 x manual

1.3 Optional accessories

Please read this manual carefully and completely before you use the device for the first time. The device
may only be used by qualified personnel and repaired by PCE Instruments personnel. There is no
warranty of damages or injuries caused by non-observance of the manual.

- The case may only be opened by qualified personnel of PCE Instruments. Furthermore, only qualified

PCE personnel may carry out any repairs.

- Avoid contact with rotating or moving parts.

- You must not make any technical changes to the device.

5.1 Handling of the device

Insert the shaft into the area to be viewed and look through the eyepiece. If necessary, push the button
on the handle of the borescope to switch on the LED. Switch off the LED after use in order to save battery
power.

5.2 Rechargeable battery

To charge the battery, connect the mains adaptor to the charging port and to a socket. Charge the device
for approximately 10 hours before using it for the first time. In case you have to change the rechargeable
battery, open the screw cap of the battery compartment, remove the used battery and replace it by a new
one. Close the battery compartment.
