1 Safety notes
Please read this manual carefully and completely before you use the device for the first time. The device may only be used by qualified personnel and repaired by PCE Instruments personnel. Damage or injuries caused by non-observance of the manual are excluded from our liability and not covered by our warranty.
The device must only be used as described in this instruction manual. If used otherwise, this can cause dangerous situations for the user and damage to the meter.
The instrument may only be used if the environmental conditions (temperature, relative
humidity, …) are within the ranges stated in the technical specifications. Do not expose
the device to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, extreme humidity or moisture.
Do not expose the device to shocks or strong vibrations.
The case should only be opened by qualified PCE Instruments personnel.
Never use the instrument when your hands are wet.
You must not make any technical changes to the device.
The appliance should only be cleaned with a damp cloth. Use only pH-neutral cleaner,
no abrasives or solvents.
The device must only be used with accessories from PCE Instruments or equivalent.
Before each use, inspect the case for visible damage. If any damage is visible, do not
use the device.
Do not use the instrument in explosive atmospheres.
The measurement range as stated in the specifications must not be exceeded under
any circumstances.
Non-observance of the safety notes can cause damage to the device and injuries to the user.
We do not assume liability for printing errors or any other mistakes in this manual. We expressly point to our general guarantee terms which can be found in our general terms of

4 Getting started
Inserting the batteries
Remove the battery cover by pulling it downwards. Insert the batteries into the battery compartment. Make sure the polarity is correct.
Place the battery cover back on.
The display now shows the internal temperature, the temperature of the external temperature sensor, the date and time.
4.1 Setting the date/time Press and hold the MODE key until you hear a beep sound. The date display starts flashing.
Press the MIN or MAX key to select the desired date format (day/month/year or year/month/day).
Press the MODE key to select the day and set it with the UP and DOWN keys.
Press the MODE key again to select the month and set it using the UP and DOWN
keys.
Press the MODE key again to select the year and set it using the UP and DOWN keys.
Press the MODE key. The hour display flashes. Set it with the UP and DOWN keys.
Press the MODE key. The minute display flashes. Set it with the UP and DOWN
keys.
You can exit settings mode with the temperature unit key.

5 Functions
5.1 Humidity
By pressing the MODE key once, you can switch between the display of the temperature of the external sensor and of the humidity inside.
5.2 Temperature unit Press the temperature unit key to change the unit in which the temperature is displayed.
5.3 Min/Max function
Press the MIN key to display the lowest measured temperature.
Press the MAX key to display the highest measured temperature.
Press and hold the MIN key for 3 seconds to reset the lowest measured temperature.
Press and hold the MAX key for 3 seconds to reset the highest measured temperature.
5.4 Wake-up function To set an alarm time, press and hold the MODE key until you hear a beep tone. Press the MODE
key until a bell icon appears in the display and the hour flashes.
Use the UP and DOWN keys to set the hour.
Press the MODE key again to set the minutes with the UP and DOWN keys.
You can exit setting mode with the temperature unit key. The alarm time can also be activated/deactivated with the temperature unit key.
5.5 Comfort level
From the measured parameters, the hygrometer determines a comfort level which gives information about the comfort in a flat or office. This is indicated by a smiley on the left edge of the display.
6 Battery replacement
The top left of the display shows the battery level. It is necessary to change the batteries when no bar is shown in the battery display. To do so, open the battery compartment and insert new batteries, observing the correct polarity.

8 Disposal
For the disposal of batteries in the EU, the 2006/66/EC directive of the European Parliament applies. Due to the contained pollutants, batteries must not be disposed of as household waste. They must be given to collection points designed for that purpose.
In order to comply with the EU directive 2012/19/EU we take our devices back. We either re-use them or give them to a recycling company which disposes of the devices in line with law.
For countries outside the EU, batteries and devices should be disposed of in accordance with your local waste regulations.
