5 Operation
5.1 Preparation
Unpack the meter completely.
Remove the protective foils if necessary.
Insert the batteries, as described in chapter 7.
Insert the Rogowski coil connector into the base of the display unit.
5.2 Current measurement AC
Switch on the meter.
Open the Rogowski coil and place it around the conductor to be measured. Pay
attention to the direction of flow (arrow on the coil handle), close and lock the coil.
Position the coil so that the conductor is as central as possible in the coil.
The measurement error may increase if the conductor is not centred.
The measurement range selection is automatically controlled by the meter.
After the measurement, switch off the meter by pressing and holding the "On" key.
5.3 Measuring the inrush current
Switch on the meter.
Open the Rogowski coil and place it around the conductor to be measured. Pay
attention to the direction of flow (arrow on the coil handle), close and lock the coil.
Position the coil so that the conductor is as central as possible in the coil.
The measuring error may increase if the conductor is not centred.
Press the "INRUSH" key.
Press and hold the "INRUSH" key to change the measurement range from 3000 A to
30 A. For changing the measurement range from 30 A to 300 A and from 300 A to 3000 A, repeat the procedure.
Switch on the consumer load to be measured.
The inrush current is shown and held on the display.
Repeat the procedure for a new measurement.
Press the "INRUSH" key to return to normal measuring mode.
After the measurement, switch off the meter by holding down the "ON" key.

10 Disposal
For the disposal of batteries in the EU, the 2006/66/EC directive of the European Parliament applies. Due to the contained pollutants, batteries must not be disposed of as household waste. They must be given to collection points designed for that purpose.
In order to comply with the EU directive 2012/19/EU we take our devices back. We either re-use them or give them to a recycling company which disposes of the devices in line with law.
For countries outside the EU, batteries and devices should be disposed of in accordance with your local waste regulations.
If you have any questions, please contact PCE Instruments.
