PATRIOT LIGHTING® (Post Cap) WARRANTY
1-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY:
This PATRIOT LIGHT® brand light fixture carries a one (1) Year Limited Warranty to the original purchaser. If, during normal use, this PATRIOT LIGHT® light fixture fails die to a defect in material and workmanship within one (1) year from the date of purchase, simply bring this light fixture with your original sales receipt back to your nearest MENARDS® retail store. At its discretion, PATRIOT LIGHT® agrees to have the lighting fixture replaced with the same or similar PATRIOT LIGHT® product free of charge, within the stated warranty period, when returned by the original purchaser with original sales receipt. Notwithstanding the foregoing, this limited warranty does not cover damage or failure caused by misuse or abuse including but not limited to improper installation, accident, unauthorized repair, maintenance, or modifications of the merchandise. This warranty: (1) excludes expendable parts including but not limited to light bulbs batteries; (2) shall be void if this lighting fixture is not installed in the U.S.A.; (3) does not cover products installed within three miles of saltwater coastline or any area prone to salt spray; and (4) does not cover any losses, labor, injuries to person/property or costs. This warranty does give you the specific legal rights and you may have other rights, which vary from state to state. Be careful, the purchaser has sole responsibility for proper installation compliance with all state and local code requirements. Seller's employees are not qualified to advise you on the use of this Merchandise. Any oral representation(s) made will not be binding on seller or its employees. The rights under this limited warranty are to the original purchaser of the Merchandise and may not be transferred to any subsequent owner. This limited warranty is in lieu of all warranties, expressed or implied including warranties or merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Seller shall not be liable for any special, incidental, or consequential damages. The sole exclusive remedy against the seller will be for the replacement of any defects as provided herein, as long as the seller is willing or able to replace this product or is willing to refund the purchase price as provided above.

Please read this manual carefully and completely before using your Post Cap. Keep this manual in a safe place for future reference.

IMPORTANT
Fully charge the battery before first use. Charge under direct sunlight in
the off position for 2 days.
For best results, locate your solar lamp in a position where it can get
direct sunlight on the solar panel and generally free from cover and shade. (Figure 1).
Keep your solar lights away from other night-time light sources, such as
streetlights.
Attention: No Battery Required in this case
Battery
Make sure the solar panels are not covered by dust, snow and debris.
Clean it with a soft damp cloth or paper towel periodically. Avoid the use of abrasive cleaning agents.
Use only solar rechargeable "AA" batteries for your solar lights. Replace
a new battery of the same size each year for optimum performance.
Attention: Do not dispose of batteries in fire. Batteries may explode
or leak.
INSTALLATION
1) Carefully take the solar lamp out of the box. The solar lamp has two partsUpper cover (A) and Lamp body (B) (Figure 2)
2) Post-top mount:
a. Make sure the post-top size is a little
bit smaller than the lamp-body rabbet;
b. Fix the lamp body by supplied screw
and plastic stopple (Figure 3)
c. Slot the lamp upper cover onto the
lamp body by clock-twist (Figure 4)
d. Finished assembly will be like Figure
5.
Screw the standard post mount bracket to the desired wood post OR attach the Composite/PVC post mount bracket (As shown on the following page) to the Composite/PVC post. Attach the solar light with a clockwise twist until you hear a "click".
Note:
The post to be installed with your post cap should be higher than 1 foot for the lantern to receive maximum sunlight.
OPERATION
1) For daily operation, turn the switch to the “AUTO” position (As show below). You solar post cap will automatically turn on once it gets dark.
2) The performance of the solar post cap will vary with the time of year. It will deliver more light when it has had a full day in the sun rather than a day in overcast weather.
REPLACING THE BATTERY
For best results the battery should be replaced every 12 months.
1) Take off the battery compartment cover (as shown to the right)
2) Remove the old battery. Make sure the new battery is a high quality AA sized solar rechargeable battery.
3) Install the new battery in to the battery compartment, ensuring the correct polarity is observed.
4) Reassemble the unit by reversing the above procedure.
