HOW TO LOAD THE PROGRAM

the slot.

automatically. The light on the drive should come on and you w ill h ear t h e dr i v e wh i r r. A f e w sec o nds l a ter, th e
title, c r e d i t s , and c o p y r i g h t sign w i l l appear o n t he screen as pictured below. WARNING: NEVER TURN THE
COMPUTER OFF OR REMOVE A DISKETTE WHILE THE RED LIGHT ON THE FRONT OF THE DISK DRIVE IS LIT.

8. You will next see the System Menu. You are now ready to run the program. WARNING: Do not remove the program

A WORD ABOUT MENUS
A menu in a computer program serves the same purpose as a menu in a r e stau rant. It i s a l i st o f all the o ptio n s fr o m wh i ch y o u ma y se lect . In a r esta ura nt y ou e xpr ess your cho ice to t he w ait er o r
waitress. In a computer program you give the computer your choice by pressing the number key that corresponds to the option you
want. Sometimes the computer will prompt you to press the <RETURN> key after you have selected an option. Other times, the co mpu ter wi ll jum p in to act ion wi tho ut you r pressin g another key.
APHASIA II is controlled by menus. The most important menu, the
'master menu,' is call the System Menu (see the following
i l l u s t r a t i o n ). I t a l l ow s y o u t o 1 ) se l e c t a c l i e n t fo r t r e at m e nt ,
2) add a new client to your fi le, 3) delet e a cli ent from your file , or 4) chec k on the prog res s of a cl ient . Ea ch o f the se

To treat a client, press the 1 key from the System Menu. Another men u wil l app ear o n th e scr e en ( s ee i llus t rati on be low). Thi s
menu is a listing of the clients whose progress has been stored on th e di sk. Not ice tha t yo ur d isk com es with one cl ient on it (see section on HOW TO DELETE A CLIENT) and there is room for up to 20
clients.

Press the number of the client who will use this program and then press the <RETURN> key. You will then see a two item menu asking
whether you would like to work on OPPOSITES or SIMILARITIES. As mentioned before, if you press 1 you will work on OPPOSITES
(hot -cold). If you press 2 yo u will work on SIMILAR ITIES
