Instructions for Use (for use at home)
Carefully read this entire manual before the VORTEX® is used

Before every use, inspect the VORTEX
sure there are no foreign bodies in.
Remove the sealing cap of the spray / MDI (= Metered Dose Inhaler).
Shake the spray vigorously. Observe the operating instructions for
your spray.
Insert the mouthpiece of the spray into the blue connecting ring of
the VORTEX
Pull the protective cap off.
Place the mouthpiece between your teeth and enclose it with your lips.
Alternatively, place the VORTEX
Mouth and nose must be covered.
Using VORTEX
Trigger the medication pull and take a deep, slow breath.
Hold your breath briefly.
Breathe out slowly into the mouthpiece.
Ensure that only one pull is sprayed into the VORTEX
®

Using VORTEX
Make sure the mask fits tightly against the face.
Slowly breath in the medication.
For children under 18 months, hold the mask tightly against the child‘s
face for 4-6 breaths and for children over 18 months for 2-4 breaths.
If you need more than one medication pulls
Wait shortly, then repeat steps 4 and 5 (or 6) in the instructions.

Cleaning
Be sure to clean VORTEX®
The VORTEX® must be cleaned thoroughly before the first use.
If contamination is visible VORTEX® must be cleaned immediately.
The VORTEX® can be cleaned as follows (see Figure 8-13)

Remove the connecting ring and mask (if present).
Do not remove the mouthpiece and the protective cap.
Thoroughly clean all parts thoroughly in warm tap water and
dishwashing liquid.
Rinse all parts thoroughly under clean running water and then
shake to remove excess water.
Disinfection
Recommended method
With vaporisator or disinfector.
Alternatively, in boiling water
Place the individual parts of the VORTEX® and the accessories
(e.g. mask) in boiling water for at least 5 minutes.
Use a clean pot and fresh drinking water and ensure that there
is sufficient water in the pot.
Drying
The VORTEX® and the accessories must be dried completely.
Due to its antistatic properties it can also be dried with a
clean tea towel.
