1 WICHTIGE HINWEISE
1.1 Allgemein
Lesen Sie diese Gebrauchsanweisung ...
Lesen Sie diese Gebrauchsanweisung sowie die Gebrauchsanweisungen des mitgelieferten Zubehörs vollständig durch. Bewahren Sie sie zum späteren Nachschlagen auf.
Bei Nichtbeachtung der Gebrauchsanweisung können Verletzungen oder Schäden am
Produkt nicht ausgeschlossen werden.
1.2 Gestaltung von Sicherheitshinweisen
Sicherheitsrelevante Warnungen sind in dieser Gebrauchsanweisung in Gefahrenstufen eingeteilt:
– Mit dem Signalwort WARNUNG sind Gefahren gekennzeichnet, die ohne Vorsichts-
maßnahmen zu schweren Verletzungen oder sogar zum Tod führen können.
– Mit dem Signalwort VORSICHT sind Gefahren gekennzeichnet, die ohne Vorsichts-
maßnahmen zu leichten bis mittelschweren Verletzungen oder zu Beeinträchtigungen der Therapie führen können.
– Mit dem Signalwort HINWEIS sind allgemeine Vorsichtsmaßnahmen gekennzeich-
net, die im Umgang mit dem Produkt beachtet werden sollten, um Schäden am Produkt zu vermeiden.
1.3 Umgang mit dem Gerät
Der PARI SOLE N ist ein elektrisch betriebenes Gerät, das mit Netzspannung betrieben
wird. Er ist so konzipiert, dass keine stromführenden Teile zugänglich sind. Bei nicht
geeigneten Umgebungsbedingungen bzw. einer Beschädigung des Netzteils oder des
Netzkabels kann dieser Schutz jedoch nicht mehr vorhanden sein. Beachten Sie daher
die folgenden Hinweise, um einen Gerätedefekt und die damit verbundene Gefahr
durch Kontakt mit stromführenden T eilen (z.B. elektrischer Schlag) zu vermeiden:
– Das PARI SOLE N Netzteil ist nicht spritzwassergeschützt. Schützen Sie das Netzteil
und das Netzkabel vor Flüssigkeit und Nässe. Fassen Sie das Netzteil, das Netzkabel
oder den Netzstecker niemals mit feuchten Händen an. Das Gerät darf außerdem
nicht in feuchter Umgebung betrieben werden.
– Verwenden Sie zum Betrieb des PARI SOLE N nur das PARI Netzkabel.
– Lassen Sie den PARI SOLE N während des Betriebes niemals unbeaufsichtigt.
– Ziehen Sie aus Sicherheitsgründen unter folgenden Umständen stets den Netzste-
cker aus der Steckdose:
– Ziehen Sie das Netzkabel stets am Netzstecker und nicht am Kabel aus der Steck-
dose.
– Achten Sie darauf, dass das Kabel niemals geknickt, gequetscht oder eingeklemmt
wird. Ziehen Sie das Kabel nicht über scharfe Kanten.
– Halten Sie den PARI SOLE N, das Netzteil und das Netzkabel von heißen Flächen
(z.B. Herdplatte, Heizstrahler, offenes Feuer) fern. Die Baugruppen oder die Isolie-
rung der Kabel könnten beschädigt werden.
– Halten Sie das Netzteil und das Netzkabel von Haustieren (z.B. Nagetieren) fern.
Diese könnten die Isolierung der Kabel beschädigen.

–Der PARI SOLE N darf nicht in Betrieb genommen bzw. es muss sofort der Netzste-
cker aus der Steckdose gezogen werden, wenn die Basis-Einheit, das Netzteil oder
das Netzkabel beschädigt ist oder der Verdacht auf einen Defekt nach einem Sturz
oder Ähnlichem besteht.
1.4 Hygiene
Verwenden Sie zur Inhalat ionstherapie ...
Verwenden Sie zur Inhalationstherapie nur gemäß Kapitel 4 gereinigte, desinfizierte
und getrocknete Vernebler und Zubehörteile. V erunreinigungen und Restfeuchte führen
zu Keimwachstum, wodurch eine erhöhte Infektionsgefahr besteht.
Beachten Sie daher die folgenden Hygienehinweise:
– Jeder Vernebler darf aus hygienischen Gründen zu Hause nur von einem einzigen
Patienten verwendet werden.
– Waschen Sie sich vor jeder Benutzung und Reinigung gründlich die Hände.
– Reinigen, desinfizieren und trocknen Sie Ihren Vernebler und das Zubehör. Führen
Sie die Reinigung, Desinfektion und Trocknung unbedingt auch vor der ersten
Anwendung durch.
– Verwenden Sie zum Reinigen und Desinfizieren stets frisches Leitungswasser in
Trinkwasserqualität.
– Achten Sie auf ausreichende Trocknung aller Einzelteile nach jeder Reinigung und
Desinfektion.
– Bewahren Sie den Vernebler und das Zubehör nicht in feuchter Umgebung oder
zusammen mit feuchten Gegenständen auf.
Für die besonderen Anforderungen in Kliniken und Arztpraxen liegt dem Produkt ein
Beileger bei („Wartung in Kliniken und Arztpraxen“). Den Beileger können Sie bei Verlust bei der PARI GmbH anfordern [siehe: 7.4 Kontakt].

1.5 Therapie von Babys, Kindern und hilfsbedürftigen Personen
Babys, Kinder und hilfsbedürftige Personen dürfen nur unter ständiger Aufsicht eines
Erwachsenen inhalieren. Nur so ist eine sichere und wirksame Therapie gewährleistet.
Diese Personen schätzen oftmals Gefährdungen (z.B. Strangulation mit dem Kabel des
Netzteils oder dem Anschlussschlauch) falsch ein, wodurch eine Verletzungsgefahr
bestehen kann.
Das Produkt enthält Kleinteile. Kleinteile können die Atemwege blockieren und zu einer
Erstickungsgefahr führen. Achten Sie daher darauf, dass Sie den Kompressor, den
Vernebler und das Zubehör stets außer Reichweite von Babys und Kleinkindern aufbewahren.
Das Netzteil kann im Normalbetrieb sehr warm werden. Vermeiden Sie daher insbesondere bei pflegebedürftigen Personen, dass diese in direkten Hautkontakt mit dem Netzteil kommen. Bei längerem Hautkontakt können Hautverbrennungen auftreten,
insbesondere bei Personen mit gestörter Temperaturwahrnehmung.
Der Vernebler ist nur für Patienten geeignet, die selbständig atmen und bei Bewusstsein
sind. Nur so wird eine wirksame Therapie ermöglicht und eine Erstickungsgefahr vermieden.

2 PRODUKTBESCHREIBUNG
2.1 Lieferumfang
Prüfen Sie, ob laut nachfolgender Tabelle alle zu Ihrem PARI SOLE N-Paket gehörenden Komponenten (Abbildung in der vorderen Umschlagseite) im Lieferumfang enthalten sind. Sollte etwas fehlen, verständigen Sie umgehend den Händl er, von dem Sie
Ihren PARI SOLE N erhalten haben.

2.3 Zweckbestimmung
Der PARI SOLE N Vernebler ist zusammen mit einem PARI Kompressor für eine Inhalationstherapie der oberen (und zentralen) Atemwege vorgesehen. Er ist für Kinder ab
ca. 4 Jahre und für Erwachsene anwendbar.
Der Vernebler ist besonders für Behandlungen geeignet, bei denen ein feuchtwarmes
rosol mit einem hohen Anteil von gröberen Tröpfchen medizinisch erforderlich ist. Die

Erzeugung des Aerosols erfolgt durch die Druckluft des Kompressors. Durch ein internes Heizelement wird das Aerosol angewärmt. Die Temperatur der Inhalationslösung
ird durch ein elektronisch geregeltes Heizelement bestimmt.

Die Vernebler sind nur für Patienten geeignet, die selbständig atmen und bei Bewusst-
sein sind.
Es dürfen nur original PARI Kompressoren und PARI Zubehör verwendet werden. Die
ARI GmbH haftet nicht für Schäden, die beim Betreiben von PARI Verneblern mit Kom-

pressoren oder Zubehör anderer Hersteller auftreten.
Die Gebrauchsanweisungen des entsprechenden Kompressors bzw. des
behörs sind zu beachten.

2.6 Lebensdauer
Tauschen Sie den Düsentrichter und den Anschlussschlauch spätestens nach einem
Jahr und den gesamten Vernebler spätestens nach drei Jahren aus, da sich das Material des Verneblers mit der Zeit verändern kann. Die Wirksamkeit der Therapie kann
dadurch beeinträchtigt werden.
Der PARI SOLE N hat eine zu erwartende durchschnittliche Lebensdauer von:
– ca. 500 Betriebsstunden
– max. 3 Jahre bei Verwendung im häuslichen Bereich
– max. 1 Jahr bei Verwendung im Klinikbereich

3 INBETRIEBNAHME
3.1 Aufstellung
Der Raum, in dem der PARI SOLE N betrieben wird, muss bestimmte Voraussetzungen
erfüllen [siehe: 6.5 Umgebungsbedingungen für den Betrieb]. Der PARI SOLE N ist
nicht für die Verwendung im Außenbereich bestimmt.
Beachten Sie beim Aufstellen ...
VORSICHT
Beachten Sie beim Aufstellen des PARI SOLE N folgende Hinweise, um eine Verletzungsgefahr oder ei
– Stellen Sie den PARI SOLE N auf einem festen, flachen, staubfreien und trockenen
Untergrund auf. Eine weiche Unterlage wie z.B. ein Sofa, ein Bett oder eine Tischde-
cke ist nicht geeignet, das Gerät könnte herunterfallen.
– Schließen Sie den Kompressor, sowei den PARI SOLE N an eine leicht erreichbare
tzsteckdose an, so dass beide schnell vom Netz getrennt werden können.

– Verlegen Sie das Netzteil und das Netzkabel so, dass beides keine Stolperfalle dar-
stellt und dass sich niemand darin verfangen kann.
– Achten Sie darauf, dass Kinder den PARI SOLE N nicht am Netzteil, am Netzkabel

3.2 Vorbereitung
Überprüfen Sie vor jeder Anwendung die Bestandteile des PARI SOLE N, das Netzteil,
das Netzkabel und den Netzstecker auf Unversehrtheit. Stellen Sie sicher, dass die örtliche Netzspannung mit der Spannungsangabe auf dem T ypenschild des Gerätes übereinstimmt. Benutzen Sie den PARI SOLE N nur, wenn alle Bestandteile intakt sind. Der
RI SOLE N darf nicht in Betrieb genommen werden, wenn die Basis-Einheit, das

3.3 Kompressor anschließen

Prüfen Sie sorgfältig, ob der am Kompressor angeschlossene P ARI Anschlussschlauch
am anderen Ende mit der Basis-Einheit des PARI SOLE N verbunden ist.
Bei Anwesenheit mehrerer Schlauchsysteme besteht potenzielle Lebensgefahr, falls
versehentlich verschiedene Anschlussmöglichkeiten miteinander verwechselt werden.
Dies ist insbesondere der Fall bei pflegebedürftigen Pati en te n, die zum Beispiel auf
künstliche Ernährung oder auf Infusionen angewiesen sind.
Bei Verwendung des PARI COMPACT Kompressors
• Stecken Sie das freie Ende des Anschlussschlauches mit einer leichten Drehung in
den Luftanschluss des Kompressors.
Bei Verwendung eines anderen PARI Kompressors
[siehe: 2.5 Produktkombinationen]
• Stecken Sie das freie Ende des Anschlussschlauches auf die geriffelte Seite des
lauchadapters.

• Stecken Sie die andere Seite des Schlauchadapters mit einer leichten Drehung in den
Luftanschluss des Kompressors.

3.4 Montage des Verneblers
Überprüfen Sie alle ...
VORSICHT
Überprüfen Sie alle Verneblerbestandteile und das Zubehör vor jeder Anwendung.
Ersetzen Sie gebrochene, verformte oder stark verfärbte T eile. Beachten Sie außerdem
die nachfolgenden Montagehinweise. Beschädigte Einzelteile sowie ein falsch montierter Vernebler können die Fu
tigen:

Prüfen und korrigieren Sie die Position des
Schlauches im Düsentrichter:
• Schieben Sie den Schlauch so weit wie
möglich auf das Kunststoffröhrchen (g).
• Ziehen Sie den Schlauch vorsichtig nach
ten, so dass er möglichst krümmungsfrei

Info: Nur wenn der Schlauch mit der richtigen
Länge in das Verneblerunterteil ragt, ist

3.5 Inhalationslösung einfüllen

Da die Inhalationslösung im Vernebler auf ca. 80°C erwärmt wird, dürfen nur entsprechend thermostabile Medikamente verwendet werden. Dadurch wird eine Beeinträch-
tigung der Inhalationstherapie ve

• Füllen Sie die vom Arzt angewiesene Menge
Medikament mit dem Messbecher (6) in das Verneblerunterteil ein (maximale Füllmenge: 15 ml).
• Setzen Sie das Verneblermittelteil (1b) auf das
erneblerunterteil (1c). Achten Sie dabei darauf,

dass die blauen Markierungen eine Linie bilden.
• Drehen Sie das Verneblermittelteil im Uhrzeigersinn bis zum Anschlag, so dass die beiden Komponenten fest miteinander verbunden sind.
• Stecken Sie den P ARI SOLE N V ernebler auf die
Basis-Einheit (9).
3.6 Zubehör montieren

3.7 Inhalationslösung erwärmen

3.8 Inhalation durchführen
Verwenden Sie den Vernebler nu r ...
VORSICHT
Verwenden Sie den V ernebler nur bei einer Umgebungstemperatur von maximal 30°C
Bei höherer Umgebungstemperatur würde sich die Aerosoltemperatur am Mundstück
erhöhen, so dass die Gefahr einer Verbrühung bestehen kann.
Vergewissern Sie sich vor der Inhalation, dass alle Teile fest miteinander verbunden
sind.

Beachten Sie während der Durchführung der Inhalation die Anzeigeleuchten an der
Basis-Einheit:

Beachten Sie hierzu die Gebrauchsanweisung des Kompressors.
• Setzen Sie sich entspannt und aufrecht hin.

Ein feines Aerosol strömt aus dem Vernebler.
• Atmen Sie möglichst ruhig durch den Vernebler ein.
• Lassen Sie die Unterbrechertaste los und atmen Sie entspannt durch den Vernebler aus.
Die ausgeatmete Luft tritt durch den Ausatemschlitz (1f)

4 WARTUNG
Dieses Kapitel beschreibt die vom Anwender zu Hause durchzuführenden Wartungsarbeiten am PARI SOLE N. Für die besonderen Anforderungen in Kliniken und Arztpraxen
liegt dem Gerät ein Beileger bei („Wartung in Kliniken und Arztpraxen“). Den Beileger
können Sie bei Verlust bei der PARI GmbH anfordern [siehe: 7.4 Kontakt].
4.1 Reinigung
Vorbereitung der Reinigung
Reinigen Sie den PARI SOLE N und das verwendete Zubehör unmittelbar nach jeder
Anwendung. Desinfizieren Sie den Vernebler mindestens einmal täglich.

Schalten Sie deshalb vor jeder Reinigung die Basis-Einheit aus und ziehen Sie den

Die Basis-Einheit enthält die elektrische Steuereinheit, die durch eindringende Flüs-
sigkeiten beschädigt werde
n kann. Zur Reinigung der Basis-Einheit dürfen deshalb
nur die Außenflächen mit einem feuchten Tuch abgewischt werden. Sprühen Sie keine
Flüssigkeit auf die Basis-Einheit oder das Netzteil.
Ist Flüssigkeit in die Basis-Einheit oder das Netzteil eingedrungen, darf der
PARI SOLE N auf keinen Fall mehr verwendet werden. Setzen Sie sich vor einer erneuten Verwendung mit dem Technischen Service der PARI GmbH oder mit dem PARI
Service Center in Verbindung [siehe: 7.4 Kontakt].
Pflege des Anschlussschlauches
Lassen Sie den Anschlu ssschlauch ...
Lassen Sie den Anschlussschlauch an der Basis-Einheit angesteckt, damit die Luftleitung in der Basis-Einheit ebenfalls trocken geblasen wird.
• Schalten Sie Ihren Kompressor ein.
• Lassen Sie den Kompressor so lange arbeiten, bis die durch den Schlauch strö-
mende Luft einen eventuellen Feuchtigkeitsniederschlag im Schlauch beseitigt hat.
• Schalten Sie den Kompressor aus und ziehen Sie den Netzstecker aus der Steck-
dose.

Reinigung des Verneblers und des Zubehörs
• Reinigen Sie alle Einzelteile (außer den Anschlussschlauch und die Basis-Einheit) ca.
5 Minuten lang gründlich in warmem Leitungswasser und Spülmittel. Verwenden Sie
bei grober Verschmutzung ggf. eine saubere Bürste (diese Bürste darf ausschließlich
für diesen Zweck benutzt werden).
• Spülen Sie alle Teile gründlich unter fließend warmem Wasser ab.
• Beschleunigen Sie das Abtropfen des Wassers durch Ausschütteln aller Teile.
Um eine Verstopfung der Düse zu vermeiden, gehen Sie wie folgt vor:
• Bauen Sie den Vernebler wieder zusammen, stecken Sie den Netzstecker der Basis-
heit in die Steckdose und schalten Sie sie ein.

1 IMPORTANT INFORMATION
1.1 General
Please read these instructions for use ...
Please read these instructions for use and the instructions for use of the accessories
supplied carefully and completely. Do not discard, so you can consult them at a later
date. If you fail to comply with the instructions for use, injury or damage to the device
cannot be ruled out.
1.2 Structure of safety instructions
Safety-critical warnings are categorised according to hazard levels in these instructions
for use:
– The signal word WARNING is used to indicate hazards which, without precautionary
measures, can result in serious injury or even death.
– The signal word CAUTION is used to indicate hazards which, without precautionary
measures, can result in minor to moderate injury or impair treatment.
– The signal word NOTE is used to indicate general precautionary measures which are
to be observed to avoid damaging the product during use.
1.3 Using the device
The P ARI SOLE N is an electrically operated device that is powered by mains electricity .
It has been designed so that no live parts are accessible. However, if ambient conditions
are unfavourable or if the power adapter or power cord is damaged, this protection may
no longer be assured. Therefore, please follow the instructions below to avoid damage
to the device and the associated danger of contact with live parts (e.g., electric shock):
– The PARI SOLE N power adapter is not splashproof. Protect the power adapter and
the power cord from liquid and moisture. Never handle the power adapter, the power
cord or the power plug with damp hands. In addition, the device must not be operated
in a damp environment.
– Only use the PARI power cord to operate the PARI SOLE N.
– Never leave the PARI SOLE N unattended while it is in use.
– For safety reasons, always disconnect the power plug from the socket under the fol-
lowing circumstances:
– Always pull the power plug, not the cable, to disconnect the power cord from the
socket.
– Make sure that the cable is never kinked, pinched or jammed. Do not pull the cable
over sharp edges.
– Keep the PARI SOLE N, the power adapter and the power cord away from hot sur-
faces (e.g., stove top, electric fire, open fire). Otherwise, the components or the insu-
lation on the cables may be damaged.
– Keep the power adapter and the power cord away from domestic animals (e.g.,
rodents). They may damage the insulation on the cables.

– The PARI SOLE N must not be operated and/or the power plug must be unplugged
from the socket immediately if the base unit, the power adapter or the power cord is
damaged, or if a fault is suspected after the device has been dropped or suffered a
similar shock.
1.4 Hygiene
Only use nebulisers and accessories ...
Only use nebulisers and accessories that have been cleaned, disinfected and dried as
described in chapter 4 for inhalation therapy. Contamination and residual moisture
encourage the growth of bacteria, so increasing the risk of infection
Therefore, please observe the following hygiene instructions:
– Each nebuliser must only be used at home by a single patient for hygiene reasons.
– Before every use and cleaning wash your hands thoroughly.
– Clean, disinfect and dry your nebuliser and accessories. Make absolutely sure you
also carry out cleaning, disinfection and drying before using the device for the first
time.
– For cleaning and disinfection always use fresh tap water of drinking water quality.
– Make sure all components are dried properly whenever you have performed cleaning
or disinfection.
– Do not keep the nebuliser or accessories in a damp environment or together with
damp objects.
A leaflet dealing with the particular requirements in hospitals and doctors' practices is
included with the product ("Maintenance in hospitals and doctors' practices"). If this leaflet is lost, you can request another one from PARI GmbH [See also: 7.4 Contact].
1.5 Treatment of babies, children and anyone who requires assistance
Babies, children and anyone who requires assistance must be supervised constantly by
an adult during inhalation therapy. This is the only way to ensure safe and effective treatment. Such persons often underestimate the hazards involved (e.g. strangulation with
the power adapter cable or the connection tubing), thus resulting in a risk of injury.
The product contains small parts. Small parts can block the respiratory tract and lead to
a choking hazard. Therefore, make sure that you always keep the compressor, the
nebuliser and the accessories out of the reach of babies and infants.
The power adapter can become very warm during normal operation. Therefore, particularly when dealing with individuals who require special assistance, ensure that their
skin does not come into contact with the power adapter. Prolonged contact may cause
burns, particularly for patients with impaired temperature percep ti o n.
The nebulisers are only designed for patients who are able to breathe by themselves
and are conscious. This is the only way to ensure effective treatment and avoid a chok
ing hazard.

2.3 Intended use
Used with a PARI compressor, the PARI SOLE N nebuliser is designed for inhalation
treatment of the upper (and central) respiratory tract. It is suitable for use by children
from approx. 4 years and by adults.
The nebuliser is particularly suitable for treatment
s in which a warm and humid aerosol
containing a high proportion of larger droplets is medically required. The aerosol is produced by the pressurised air of the compressor
. The aerosol is warmed up by an internal
heating element. The temperature of the inhalation solution is determined by an electronically regulated heating element.
Only medication that has been approved for inhalatio
n treatment must be used. This is
generally determined by the doctor. Take note of any restrictions in the instructions for
use of the medication in question. The frequency of application depends on the clinical
picture and the medication used.
The nebulisers are only designed for patients who are able to breathe by themselves

2.6 Operating life
Replace the nozzle funnel and the connection tubing after one year at the latest, and
replace the complete nebuliser after three years at the latest, as changes can occur in
the nebuliser material over time. This might impair the effectiveness of the treatment.
The PARI SOLE N has an average expected operating life of:

– max. 3 years in home applications

3 PREPARATION FOR USE
3.1 Setup
The room in which the PARI SOLE N is operated must satisfy certain conditions [See
also: 6.5 Ambient conditions for operation]. The PARI SOLE N is not intended for outdoor use.

When setting up the PARI SOLE N, follow the instructions below to avoid any risk of
injury or damage to the device:
–Place the PARI SOLE N on a firm, flat, dust-free, dry surface. A soft base such as a
sofa, a bed or tablecloth is not suitable because the device might fall.
– Plug the compressor and the PARI SOLE N into an easily accessible mains socket so
t both can be disconnected from the power source quickly.

– Make sure that children cannot pull on the power adapter, the power cord or the con-
nection tubing and cause the PARI SOLE N to fall.

When several tubing systems are present, there is a possible threat to life if different
connection options are confused with each other. This applies particularly in the case
of patients in need of constant care who must receive artificial nutrition or other infusion treatments.
When using the PARI COMPACT compressor:
• Insert the free end of the connection tubing
into the air connection of the compressor,
twisting it gently.
When using another PARI compressor:

Only use the nebuliser in ambient temperatures of not more than 30 °C. At higher ambient temperatures, the aerosol temperature at the mouthpiece would increase, resulting
in a scalding hazard.

4.1 Cleaning

Cleaning the base unit and the power adapter

The base unit contains the electrical controller, which may be damaged by the pene-
tration of fluids. Therefore, when cleaning, only the outer surfaces must be wiped with
a damp cloth. Do not spray any liquid on the base unit or the power adapter.

be used again under any circumstances. Before using it again, you must contact the

• Place the individual parts of your nebuliser in boiling water for at least 5 minutes.
Use a clean pot and fresh drinking water.

Plastic will melt if it comes into contact with the hot base of the pot. Therefore, make
sure there is plenty of water in the pot. This way you will avoid damaging the compo-
nents.
Using a standard thermal disinfector for baby bottles (not a microwave oven)
Disinfection must last at least 15 minutes. Regarding disinfection and the quantity of
water required for this, it is essential to follow the instructions for use of the disinfector
you are using. Always check carefully that it is clean and fully functional.

PARI guarantees that your device, if used according to the instructions, will be free from
defects in material and workmanship caused by the manufacturing process for the warranty period indicated on the warranty certificate beg
