other ammable liquids or vapors are strored.
Prior to use, check for damaged parts such as hoses, regulators, pilot, or burner.•Do not• attempt to alter unit in any manner. (EXAMPLE : Using the heater without the top canopy reector or
radiant screen.) Do not shorten the burner post assembly.
Heater must always be placed on a stable, solid level surface.•
Always maintain proper clearance to combustible materials. (Top : 36’’, sides : 24’’)•
Always ensure there is ample fresh air ventilation. For outdoor use ONLY.•
Never replace or substitute the regulator with any regulator other than an original factory supplied replace-•
ment or UL listed regulator.
Do not •clean heater with cleaners that are combustible or corrosive.
Do not• paint radiant screen, control panel, or top canopy reector.
All leak tests should be done with a soapy solution. NEVER USE AN OPEN FLAME TO CHECK FOR LEAKS.•
The LP tank should be completely turned o at the cylinder valve when the heater is not in use.•
The LP regulator/hose assembly shall be kept completely inside cylinder housing. •
Children and adults should be aware fo the hazards of high surface temperatures and should use extreme cau-•
tion and keep proper distance away from main heater unit to avoid burns or clothing ignition.
Young children should be carefully supervised when they are in the area of the heater.•
Clothing or other ammable materials should not be hung from the heater, or placed on or near the heater.•
Any guard or other protective device removed for servicing the heatert must be replaced prior to operating •
the heater.
Installation and repair should be done by a qualied service person. The heater should be inspected before •
use and at least annually by a qualied service person. More frequent cleaning may be required. It is imperative that control compartment, burner and air circulation passageways of the heater be kept clean & clear of
debris, insects, spider webs, etc.
Keep the appliance area clear and free of combustion materials, gasoline and other ammable vapors and •
liquids.

Never connect an unregulated propane tank to the heater.•
LEAK TESTING
Gas connections on the heater are gas tested at the factory prior to shipment. A complete gas tightness •
check must be performed at the installation site due to potential shipment irregularities or excessive pressure being applied to the heater as well as to check nal installation of components by the consumer.
TO LEAK TEST
Make a soapy solution of one part liquid detergent and one part water. The soap solution can be applied •
with a spray bottle, brush, or rag. Soap bubbles will appear where a leak is present.
Make certain the safety control valve is in the OFF position (at the control panel of the head unit).•
Turn the gas supply ON at the propane cylinder valve. Apply/spray several drops on the regulator hose to •
gas inlet hose connection, and the regulator to tank cylinder connection. (Small bubbles indicate a leak)
If a leak is present, turn OFF the gas supply, loosen and then re-tighten and leaking ttings, turn gas supply •
ON again and recheck. Repeat as needed.
LOCATING HEATER FOR USE
BE CAREFUL : When certain material or items are left under the heater
while in use, they will be subjected to radiant heat and could be
seriously damaged!

INSTRUCTIONS - 12
WARNING !
WARNING !
BURNER OPERATION
The burner head unit emitter screen will burn bright red when operating •
normally. The heat generated is VERY INTENSE. Note : It is normal for some
discoloration of the emitter screen after use.
The burner ame wil normally show blue with yellow tip ames (see g.). •
Shoud you notice the ame to be predominatly yellow or producing thick
black smoke, this is an indicatio of air ow obstruction. Shut the unit o
and check burner and passageways for debris, insects, spider webs and
excessive carbon build up. Clean as needed.
HINT : Use a can of compressed air or an air compressor to blow out burner
and gas valve areas in the head unit. Spray liberally through vent holes and
manual lighting holes.
WARNING
AFTER SHUTTING OFF APPLIANCE WAIT 5 MINUTES
BEFORE RE-LIGHTING.
There is a built-in safety system designed to prevent
immediate re-lighting after use.
When storing the heater, the connection between the propane tank and the heater must be disconnected and

STORAGE & MAINTENANCE
STORAGE :
During the season :
Control knob must be in OFF position•
Propane cylinder valve must be closed completely•
Patio heater must be upright and sheltered from any harsh weather conditions (i.e. strong winds, rain, heavy •
mist, snow, dust & debris)
During o season :
Control knob must be in OFF position•
Disconnect LPG cylinder and store in a well ventilated OUTDOOR area where the temperature will not ex-•
ceed 125 degrees F.
Appliance should be upright and sheltered from outside weather conditions (i.e. rain, snow, hail, winds, dust, •
debris).
It is recommended that the ‘’head components’’ be wrapped or covered to protect against debris, dust and •
insects clogging air and gas passageways. Suggestion : use a poly trash can liner or polytarp material.
MAINTENANCE :
Outside metal surface – Clean with warm soapy water and soft rags or paper towels. Do NOT use abrasive or •
corrosive cleaning agents. Be careful NOT to wet the burner or pilot ignition assemblies. Do NOT spray water
or cleaning agents directly onto head components as severe damage may result.
The aluminum reector hood MUST be cleaned frequently. Do NOT allow carbon deposits to build. This will •
cause a signicant re hazard. Use warm soapy water or a non-abrasive solution and soft rags or paper towels.
Obstruction of airow & gas passageways is the primary cause of problems. Check burner assembly, ventila-•
tion screen, control panel and intake lines before every use. Clean orices and small vents with a pipe cleaner. A can of compressed air is very eective for cleaning out small particles, insects, and spiders.
Possible signs of obstructed air and gas passageways :
Heat glow on head component is very UNEVEN1.
Smell of gas and extreme yellow tipping of ame2.
Heating output (BTU) is noticeably reduced3.
Crackling or popping noises coming from heating components4.
NOTE : Locations near the ocean or saltwater will require more maintenance and frequent checking of components.
