Moving racks sudden stops may allow the rack to overturn. Never attempt to move a rack with casters sideways. The rack and casters were designed to move front to back only.
A standalone rack with casters must be on a level stable surface and attached to the floor. Use the provided floor attachment brackets to attach the rack with casters to the floor.

For any extendable or slide out equipment, floor attachment brackets must be installed to the rack and bolted to the floor. Always load heavy equipment, such as UPS at the bottom of the rack and mount lighter equipment moving upwards in the rack.

Fixed Caster and Bracket Assembly
RCSTR contains:
(1) Fixed Caster and Bracket Assembly (1) Swivel Caster and Bracket Assembly (4) 3/8-16 X 1" Bolts (4) 3/8-16 Hex Nuts (8) 3/8" Washers (4) Floor Mounting Brackets

has the larger wheels.
Installation of Caster Assemblies to 4 Post Rack
Note: Panduit recommends that the Caster Assemblies are assembled to the 4 Post Rack when the rack is being assembled. Refer to the 4
Post Rack instruction sheet (CM396**) for further installation instructions for the rack. (8) 3/8-16 X 1" Bolts, (8) 3/8" Paint Piercing Washers, and the anti-oxidant paste included with the 4 Post Rack will be utilized for the following installation of the Caster Assemblies.
Step 1: Locate the front side of the rack. The front side will have the Panduit label affixed on the top bracket. Step 2: Apply antioxidant paste to painted surfaces that the 3/8" Paint Piercing Washers will come into contact with. Step 3: From the bottom of the rack, install Fixed Caster and Bracket Assembly and Floor Mounting Bracket, using (2) 3/8-16 X 1" Bolts and
(2) 3/8" Paint Piercing Washers, to the front of the rack such that the flange on the assembly fits around the bottom cross brace of the side assembly of the rack. The mounting flange of the Caster Assembly must fit to the outside of the rack post with the mounting holes aligned. See view below and on page 3. DO NOT TIGHTEN. Step 4: From the bottom of the rack, install Swivel Caster and Bracket Assembly and Floor Mounting Bracket, using (2) 3/8-16 X 1" Bolts and (2) 3/8" Paint Piercing Washers, to the rear of the rack repeating the procedures outlined in Step 3. See view below and on page 3.

Step 5:
Apply antioxidant paste to painted surfaces that the 3/8" Paint Piercing Washers will come in contact with. Install Top Brackets using (4) 3/8-16 X 1" Bolts and (4) 3/8" Paint Piercing Washers. DO NOT TIGHTEN.

Step 6:
Place remaining side assembly and Floor Mounting Brackets as shown. Apply antioxidant paste to painted surfaces that the 3/8" Paint Piercing Washers will come in contact with. Assemble to Caster Assemblies using (2) 3/8-16 X 1" Bolts and (2) 3/8" Paint Piercing Washers in the locations shown below. DO
NOT TIGHTEN.
Step 7:
With the side assembly hinged by the two bolts affixed in Step 6, rotate the side assembly upward to align with the mounting holes in the two top brackets. Install remaining (6) 3/8-16 X 1" Bolts and (6) 3/8" Paint Piercing Washers in the locations shown below. Square and tighten bolts per instructions in Step 3 of rack instruction sheet (CM396**).
Operating Wheel Locks
To hold rack in place, turn wheel lock bolts on Fixed Caster and Bracket Assembly clockwise to lock caster wheels. Tighten lock nut in place.
To move rack, loosen lock nut and turn wheel lock bolts on Fixed Caster and Bracket Assembly counter clock­wise to unlock caster wheels. Tighten lock nut in place.
Step 8:
To secure caster brackets, place (1) 3/8-16 X 1" Bolt and (1) 3/8" Washer into rack frame from the outside and secure with (1) 3/8-16 Hex Nut and (1) 3/8" Washer from the inside of caster bracket (both sides, both caster bracket assemblies).

Note: Floor Mounting Bolts must be used in all applications in order to provide maximum rigidity, load bearing capacity and safety.
MOUNT RACK TO FLOOR
After establishing floor mounting location for rack, securely mount both sides of the rack to the floor using the appropriate hardware based on the floor construction.
