Timer Programming
Timer Programming from Menu
T he Timer Programming menu allows you to choose programmes that you wish to remind watching or record totheexternal
recorder. Atthe correcttime, the TV will tune to the correct channel even if the TV is in Standby mode.
TV Guide may also be used to set timer programming event (p.24).
T his function is not available in Analogue mode.
•
T imer Programming can store up to 15 events.
•
T imer Programming only works reliably if correct time informationis received via the signal from the broadcaster or service
•
provider.
F or recording using Timer Programming, the T V must be either On or in standby. For reminders to be displayed, the TV must
•
be On.
N o other channel can be selected while the recording of Timer Programming is in progress.
•
I t may not be possible to record an encrypted programme (which is copy-protected).
•
When recording programmes to theexternal recorder, besure to maketheproper settingsonthe recorder connected to the
•
TV.
If a compatible recorder with Q-Link, VIERA Link or similar technologies is connected to the TV (p.82,83) and the [Link
Settings] (p.40) are completed, no setting of the recorder is required. Also read the manual of the recorder.
If the recorder is not compatible with Q-Link, VIERA Link or similar technologies, make timer programming of the recorder.
•
For preparationsof a recorder, read the manual of the recorder.
R ecordings to the external recorders are always in standard definition composite video via SCART, even if the original

programmeisinhigh definition.
2 minutes before the starting time, a reminder message appears if you are watching TV.

Reduce unnecessary power consumption in standby [Standby Power Save]
Set Standby Power Save [On] in the Setup Menu to use this function [Standby Power Save] (p.41)
T he power consumption in Standby mode of the connected equipment is controlled higher or lower in synchronization with
the TV On / Off state to reduce the consumption.
When the TV is set to Standby mode, the connected equipment is automatically set to Standby and the power consumption in
Standby mode of the connected equipment is automatically minimised.
When the TV is turned on, the connected equipment is still in Standby mode, but the power consumption is increased to make
startup time early.
T his function is effective if the connected equipment can change the power consumption in Standby mode and is set to

higher consumption.
T his function will work when [Power off Link] is set to [On].

Auto standby for unnecessary equipment [Intelligent Auto Standby]
Set Intelligent Auto Standby [On (With reminder)] or [On (No reminder)] in the Setup Menu to use this function
